No one remembers the Event, nor can they agree on what it even was. Some claim the seas rose. Some claim a swath of the atmosphere was stripped away and the seas boiled.
Satellites orbiting the globe are the new faerie story to lull children to sleep.
The one truth of the new world is the Dust. Choking the atmosphere, only those born in the Badlands between the Domes can survive it for long, and when the storms rage, even the dubious protection of the Domes is questionable.
