Background When the salmon spawn, they leap up river, employing a strength that defies their size to accomplish magnificent things. Bjarndor loves to watch the salmon, because though he is much bigger than they (and bigger than all in his village), he recognizes and admires their determination. Bjarndor was raised in the mountains to the west, but it's the great river Anduin and its tributaries that have always inspired him, and every spring he follows them down into the valley and ensures that his people are safe. It's lonely down here, but he is charged with protecting the hills. To keep the trails impassable, and ensure that no one knows precisely where his people are. Spiders and wolves they can keep at bay, but not the orcs. And so Bjarndor spends his summers ensuring that no one will know the migratory patterns of the mountain folk.
