Back to Dawn of the Third Age

Nomoe_Hideaki: On board a commercial luxury air ship, high over the Inner Sea, on its way back to the Imperial City, more specifically observation deck C, against the spectacular backdrop of sea and sky ...

Shadow_Phoenix_Ruby stands on the observation deck, a little close to the edge, looking up at the sky solemnly. Her long hair waving in the breeze, her thoughts elsewhere.

Nomoe_Hideaki: There is a polite knock from the entrance to announce the arrival of another person. "Ambassador," Nomoe Hideaki intones with the practiced gravitas of a diplomat. "May I join you? If it's convenient I would like to exchange a few words."

Shadow_Phoenix_Ruby: The young Adamant Alchemical looks to the entrance and nods before turning to the sky, "You may, Deliberator," she say gently and then turns to her hands folded before her. "What... words are you interested in?"

Nomoe_Hideaki walks toward the edge of the observation deck with measured steps to take a position beside Shadow Phoenix Ruby, close enough to seem not overly distant but far enough to keep both sides' personal space intact. By Creation's standards, that is. Literature about Autochthonian etiquette is hard to come by.

Nomoe_Hideaki: "It is a beautiful sight, is it not?" He too looks out over the sea and from the horizon upward to the sky.

Shadow_Phoenix_Ruby nods and returns to look out over sea to the sky.

Shadow_Phoenix_Ruby: "It is very beautiful, the sky is so vast, so... large."

Nomoe_Hideaki nods. "Much more so here, without trees or buildings to obstruct, without the earth dominating every perspective."

Shadow_Phoenix_Ruby: "This is so, my homeland has no sky, no sea. So it is interesting to see it from the variety of angles granted to me."

Nomoe_Hideaki: "Is it much different from ...Autochthonia is the correct pronounciation, isn't it? I consider myself well read, but in all of Sanken's books I have found no concrete description of that realm."

Nomoe_Hideaki: "Even its existence was thought mere myth by the majority of the so-called scholars of this age."

Shadow_Phoenix_Ruby gives a gentle smile

Shadow_Phoenix_Ruby: "As was Creation to us. A myth. I would assume many thought the creators of Project Razor to be crazy."

Nomoe_Hideaki: "That was the initiative to make ... contact? With Creation? It takes a special kind of inspiration to go against what is commonly considered truth. And those with such inspiration are indeed often thought mad."

Nomoe_Hideaki: Looking at the sky Nomoe Hideaki shakes his head. "What is it like, Autochthonia? My own home knows rivers but no seas, so I can imagine a realm without sea. But no sky? How can that be?"

Shadow_Phoenix_Ruby: "Autochthonia is like... a place in the heart of the earth, only not so, Autochthon's veins run through the lands, and many of the places where the nations reside on move from time to time. Its dark, very dark, and very much contained. In Estasia you have to move a bit from the capital metropolis to see the tunnel where the nearest patropolis resides."

Nomoe_Hideaki is quiet for a minute. "It sounds like a difficult and strange place to live - to me, who knows only Creation. But it too must have its beauty and its wonders."

Nomoe_Hideaki: "I do hope I will be able to see it for myself some day."

Shadow_Phoenix_Ruby: "My home lands is actually very pretty. Crystal formations and Adamant Metropolises, the area has the most light, as it resides on the Boarder of the Reaches and the places where the Divine Ministers live. I understand the Core is near there but I have been unallowed to go deeper. Still perhaps once things are more settled at home, I could bring you to visit."

Nomoe_Hideaki nods thoughtfully. "Perhaps."

Nomoe_Hideaki: "Why was contact made with Creation after millennia? I am not privy to any details, naturally, but it must have been a great undertaking."

Nomoe_Hideaki: "The discovery, the exploration of a new - or very old, as the case may be - frontier is a worthy goal of course, but was it the only one?"

Nomoe_Hideaki seems curious, but not overly so. The question seems to have occurred to him just now.

Shadow_Phoenix_Ruby: "Actually," Ruby says softly and looks to the sky, "There... is a problem back at home. You see, things are degarding, less poeple are being born, magic materials are depleting at an alarming rate, and the Void creeps every closer to our cities. We... came to Creation to allieviate some of these issues. The trade with Denandsor was a godsend."

Nomoe_Hideaki gives a look of surprise mixed with alarm. "That sounds very serious. The Void ... is that what is also called 'Oblivion' here in Creation? Nothingness and final annihilation?" He doesn't hide that behind his eyes his thoughts are racing.

Shadow_Phoenix_Ruby: "That... I do not know. But it is a sickness that has warped many places. I have heard of the places you call Shadowlands but even these places we call of the Void are not like them. I have not read enough on the nature of Oblivion, to see if the two share the same effect."

Nomoe_Hideaki: "I will ask one of the Twilights in the Grand Circle, I think, at a convenient time. Likely it was one of the first questions they asked and they have the knowledge and means to find out."

Nomoe_Hideaki: "But in the meantime ... Sanken, my own home, may not yet have the level of technology and power of Denandsor, but we do have our own means and natural resources."

Nomoe_Hideaki: "It would be criminal to neglect mentioning that, if simple trade ties might help your home stave off these serious problems."

Shadow_Phoenix_Ruby: Ruby nods and is thoughtful, "I will talk with my superiors in Estasia, they will likely accept such an offer. Though I still shall seek a more permanent solution. It is the Void I worry about, its appearance and growth might be pure coincidence with the material loss and lower birth rate. I suspect something more myself."

Nomoe_Hideaki nods. "In Creation Oblivion has its own powerful agents that spread Shadowlands and actively try to hasten along the world's destruction. A plot of deprivation of necessities, of slow starvation, would be the style of some of those agents." He shrugs. "I know too little to say whether it is a valid parallel, but I would agree that where the fate of one's world is at stake it does not pay to take any chances."

Nomoe_Hideaki: Tilting his head slightly Nomoe Hideaki looks at Shadow Phoenix Ruby. "Is this then why you have been sent here? Surely it is not mainly to assist the Deliberative with embarrassing internal matters." He grins slightly.

Shadow_Phoenix_Ruby nods and glaces to the Deliberator with a smile. "No. My mission from Estasia to help here merely is to help Estasia. I came here for that. But... since I have been here I have learned a few things. I believe the answer to helping my homelands to be here, in Creation, somewhere. I assist the Deliberative because if there is chaos in these lands then my ability to find the answer that I seek will be severely reduced."

Nomoe_Hideaki sighs. "Yes, chaos. There is far too much of that these days, in both meanings of the word. But at least the Wyld is as a threat now mostly contained and we are pushing it back another step every day."

Nomoe_Hideaki: "These new developments, though ..." He shakes his head. "In any case, your help is appreciated, Ambassador Shadow Phoenix Ruby."

Shadow_Phoenix_Ruby: "I shall try my best, and continue to do so. The aberrations of Creation will be quelled, its just a matter of time. As long as our own internal disputes don't cause more chaos." She nods then and turns to the sky.

Nomoe_Hideaki nods. "I am confident that our efforts will be crowned by further success before too long. And as long as we ensure that delicate matters are handled by deft hands and not the Infernal we will keep disturbances to a minimum."

Nomoe_Hideaki briefly looks at Shadow Phoenix Ruby looking at the sky, then nods to himself. "I have intruded on you long enough, I think, Ambassador Shadow Phoenix Ruby? If you will excuse me I will leave you to your contemplation."

Shadow_Phoenix_Ruby: "It... was." The young Alchemical nods softly, "A very appreciated talk," she says giving Nomoe a sidelong glance and a smile. "We should have more."

Nomoe_Hideaki turns toward Shadow Phoenix Ruby and bows slightly, the corners of his mouth giving the hint of a smile. "There will be more opportunities, I should think."

Nomoe_Hideaki: Then he bows again, deeper and more formally this time. "A good day to you, Ambassador Shadow Phoenix Ruby, and Sol shine upon you."

Shadow_Phoenix_Ruby: "And a good day to you as well, Deliberator." Ruby says with a soft bow. The young Alchemical though silently files away the blessing, was it custom?

Nomoe_Hideaki: And after bowing a third time Nomoe Hideaki leaves the observation deck with measured steps.

Nomoe_Hideaki: There is after all much work to do for him, even on a nominally slow and relaxing return trip to the Blessed Isle.

Shadow_Phoenix_Ruby returns to her thoughts and the sky the peace and lonliness to return.

Nomoe_Hideaki: ((and cut? :) ))

Shadow_Phoenix_Ruby: ((And cut ^^))

Nomoe_Hideaki: ((I figure over the course of the month of downtime Nomoe Hideaki and Shadow Phoenix Ruby will talk a few more times - at the very least to discuss what her superiors have to say about trade with Sanken and stuff like that - but nothing to happen on screen. What do you think?))

Shadow_Phoenix_Ruby: ((Sounds good.))

Nomoe_Hideaki: ((And I figure this gives me a reason for Hideaki to know a little more about Autochthonia than he would otherwise))

Nomoe_Hideaki: ((I do hope we'll go there with the group at some point. I'll have to mention that to taurus ;) ))

Shadow_Phoenix_Ruby: ((That would be cool. ^^))

Nomoe_Hideaki: ((Suddenly it's all the rest of us that are the fishes out of water ;) ))

Shadow_Phoenix_Ruby: ((mwahaha XD))
