Sui Mae always looks elegant and stylish yet ready to battle with anyone at any moment. Whether in China’s hottest fashions or in more traditional brocade satin dresses with silk embroidery, she often wears her shining red jade breast plate over top coupled with her rather large yet thin ornate red jade sword covered in ancient gold calligraphy and slung over her back. Her clothing is custom tailor made, of course. While very traditional, she doesn’t always dress like she is; at a club scene she could be seen wearing leather high heal boots that go up to her thighs (being raised by a hard-core club loving vampire did not help). She is quite small, only 5’3 but is very slender and beautiful, the kind of girl a boy instantly undressed with his eyes. Falling just above her waist, her straight long black hair has a hint of burgundy streaked throughout it that becomes more noticeable on a sunny day. While only 19, she appears to be in her early 20’s and has an air of confidence that none could argue. She has small red lips and blown eyes that seem to be looking straight through you as if she can see into your soul. Her face is often expressionless and you’re not ever quit sure what she is thinking.

Ling Sui Mae is fabulously wealthy.

Sui Mae has two artifacts granted to her upon her graduation. One is a red jade breastplate, the other is a red jade reaper daiklaive with an Elemental Lens. Both are ancient tools used by her ancestors and defy material value.

Two Chinese vampires guard Sui Mae's family. One is named "Qin", a centuries old Wan Kuie on the Way of the Resplendent Crane, and the other is a younger Kuie-jin named Keiko Tang, one of the Laughing Rainbows.

A number of mortal servants dedicate themselves to the Ling family and have vowed on their lives to protect Ling Sui Mae from any harm they can.

History

Ling Sui Mae was brought into a life of absolute luxury. Her upbringing better fit for a China doll, her parents kept her quite close and sheltered her from the horrors of the world. Wan Kuei stalked around her home, servants to her parents, and as she was not permitted to go to school (her parents felt private tutors would do much better) it was them that Sui Mae befriended and felt she could confide in. Her parents were very traditional and as an only child, expectations were high. But at the age of eight all of that was about to change.

On a seemingly regular Saturday night, the Ling family was out keeping up with societal pressures at a rather large traditional social gathering. Bored, Sui Mae was playing on the stairway sliding down the banister and swinging about away from the prying eyes of her parents. Sui Mae detected a fowl odor but was distracted as the power failed and the bright hall fell into darkness. Screams echoed through the mansion as flames filled the rooms; people in their lavish evening wear rushing about shouting at others to get out. Smoke began flooding up the stairs towards her, along with immense heat that could not be ignored. She blindly made her way down the steep slope feeling around for the railing, something was wrong, Sui Mae screamed as something began to move brushing her fingertips. Horror paralyzed her; a snake had replaced what was once the banister. Even in the dark, fetid hall she could see its glaring yellow eyes. She called for her parents, but she was alone, no one else had come up this far. She froze as the snake flew towards her, hissing wildly. Ducking she managed to avoid its strike but lost her balance in the process. She topped down the hard marble stairs the darkness dissolved, distant footsteps everything going…

She woke up outside in the garden as a tearful women approached her handkerchief in hand. It was hours before she was told the awful truth. Her parents were dead.

Scarred both on the outside and within, Sui Mae went on with her life. It was then that the Wan Kuie told her of her destiny and how she would one day be chosen by the Heavens to protect and save China. With nothing to lose Sui Mae devoted her life to training, and worked hard to tone her skills in combat. At 16 she heard of the Macau, a Chinese mafia group that was terrorizing China. She made a list and decided to take them on, one by one. In six months she had succeeded all expectations and had taken down almost half of the group. But she had become a problem and one night, six of the groups’ deadliest assassins entered her mansion. Sui Mae was asleep in her bed as two of the assassins grabbed her, ripping her from her blankets. Sui tried fighting back but there was too many of them. That was when it happened; she burst out in radiating flame. She smiled; the men looked shocked and began backing away from the blazing girl. Sui Mae sent out a burst of fire, taking out all of the Macau in a single blow, her eyes glowing with fury.

After that traumatic experience, the nascent Wan Xian’s training was increased sevenfold. Wan Kuie vampires from all over the Middle Kingdom traveled to train the girl in calligraphy, martial arts, the ways of the spirit world, and above all, how to fight demons and the other monsters threatening the Middle Kingdom in this Age. She was showed how close the world is to ending, and how the Wheel of the Ages had been moved forward to lesson the rule of the mysterious but clearly evil Demon Emperor. The Demon Emperor is prophesied to rule all of Creation until the Twelfth Age and then the Wheel starts again from the beginning. She was presented to Yama Kings, made pacts with the God of Fire, Li Bei, made war on crime and underworld influence in China on her off time, and was honed into the perfect weapon designed to fight the World of Darkness.

And now, her destiny brings her to America to find her fiancée …
