Once More, With Feeling
Log 1.5
(12/09/09 17:42:41) Andrensath: On the other hand, though, the PCs will likely assume that because Cerise is Anshu's only mate, she's therefore Salamander's reincarnation. Or is Anshu getting two mates as well?
(12/09/09 17:43:26) Segev: <Cael> Wait, why do I have a bond to Anshu, now!? AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!
(12/09/09 17:43:26) Sunrunner: The bond should have stayed attached to Salamander's Exaltation. It didn't. It attached itself to an experienced lunar that met its' new (scrambled) definition of Anshu's bondmate.
(12/09/09 17:43:49) Sunrunner: She may pick up another Solar mate, her original one, or she may not.
(12/09/09 17:44:06) ***Sunrunner grins wickedly.
(12/09/09 17:44:18) Sunrunner: Its' just a relationship map for the most part. With supernatural benefits.
(12/09/09 17:45:33) Sunrunner: I did a thorough explaination for Andrensath, so if y'all wanted to poke hir for information, feel free. =p
(12/09/09 17:46:22) Andrensath: I think everyone would freak out at that point, Segev. Three Solar mates isn't something the circle would expect. Even Solitary doesn't have three full mates; she has a pair of mates who are bonded together, and a non-overlapping single mate.
(12/09/09 17:46:47) Sunrunner: Which is freaky by itself. Two lunars bonded together.
(12/09/09 17:48:27) Segev: Cael's already freaking out; I'm just trying to not do it IC when it is inappropriate for the narrative flow.
(12/09/09 17:48:30) Sunrunner: Li has a theory. Because Solitary is talking with Li and Sakura, it means Solitary can't talk to Dragon. If she started talking with Dragon again, both him and Sakura should get cut out of the conversation. Of course, he doesn't know how to cause that shift for Solitary Talon ... but it explains why they can't talk to her. The two setups (one solar, one lunar) and (one solar, two lunars) are contradictory and so cancel the other out.
(12/09/09 17:48:35) Segev: He NEEDS to talk to Antonee and Rowan about this.
(12/09/09 17:49:23) Myllinnia: Ooh interesting
(12/09/09 17:49:26) Sunrunner: Should be fun. Especially as both the Solars have the True Love option enabled.
(12/09/09 17:49:28) Andrensath: That would be a good topic for a group chat, to be honest, Segev.
(12/09/09 17:49:47) ***Segev nods.
(12/09/09 17:50:00) Segev: well, then, when we get on tomorrow, that's something he'll bring up. :)
(12/09/09 17:50:08) ***Sunrunner nods.
(12/09/09 17:50:10) Sunrunner: Works for me.
(12/09/09 17:50:11) Andrensath: Yeah. Antonee's True Love is expressing itself as overprotectiveness, at the moment. Because any other expression would be icky.
(12/09/09 17:50:55) Segev: Ironically, Cael's not got true love for either of them. ^^; He feels very protective, though.
(12/09/09 17:51:04) Sunrunner: Rowan is going romantic, but not sexual, as he doesn't believe Cael can respond in kind given his age. And, of course, Cael is going to bounce most of Rowan's romantic advances by being Cael and being oblivious.
(12/09/09 17:51:19) ***Sunrunner thinks it should be fun.
(12/09/09 17:51:40) Andrensath: Yeah, well, I did keep *meaning* to edit out Antonee's True Love, but this is better. More drama FTW.
(12/09/09 17:52:10) Sunrunner: Of course, Segev can turn on True Love whenever he wants to. You can turn it on, but you can't turn it off once it kicks in.
(12/09/09 17:52:57) ***Sunrunner thinks it should be appropriate if, having the campaign advanced far enough, that the toggle gets turned on during play.
(12/09/09 17:53:26) Sunrunner: That'd be a few in-character years down the line though.
(12/09/09 17:54:11) Segev: We'll see.
(12/09/09 17:54:19) Andrensath: Yeah. I still need to decide exactly how old Antonee, Splendor, and Solitary are, to be honest.
(12/09/09 17:54:56) Segev: If it happened, it'd likely accompany either one of his mates getting a stone of gender-bending, or him learing twin-faced hero. If only because I, frankly, would not enjoy RPing a homosexual relationship.
(12/09/09 17:55:22) Segev: The current setup is funny and amusing, though. ^^
(12/09/09 17:56:00) Andrensath: Apropos of nothing, I had actually been considering making Antonee female back when he was going to be Moonchild's mate.
(12/09/09 17:56:21) Segev: *snrk*
(12/09/09 17:56:51) Segev: The Exalted setting is, for better or worse, equipped to make any sort of gender-bending relationships Exalts want to have possible, though, so wheeeeee.
(12/09/09 17:57:20) Sunrunner: it can get rather complicated, yes.
(12/09/09 17:58:43) Segev: Honestly, while it might really hurt Rowan and/or Antonee's feelings, he's more likely, when he gets older and hormones start actually working, to fall in lust with Unspeakable Rite than with either of his bondmates. Less likely to -love-, sure, but more likely to lust.
(12/09/09 17:59:31) Sunrunner: She is rather designed for it, yes. =p
(12/09/09 17:59:38) Segev: (Or other attractive females, but she's the most overtly sexual one I've seen in this game so far. Even Solitary and Pandagirl were subdued in comparison. :P)
(12/09/09 17:59:51) Myllinnia: Evil Unspeakable Rite... her and her Lust thingy :p
(12/09/09 18:00:25) Andrensath: Pandagirl?
(12/09/09 18:00:26) Segev: Speaking of Unspeakable (pun intended), Cael SHOULD send her another Infallible Messanger to see if she's okay. Or, better, find a way to send a message to which she can reply.
(12/09/09 18:00:43) Segev: The Solar whose player dropped out that was Solitary's slave when the game started.
(12/09/09 18:00:47) Myllinnia: Your former slave ^^
(12/09/09 18:00:49) Sunrunner: The Exalted Spiderman.
(12/09/09 18:00:51) ***Andrensath thinks she should get invited to Denandsor.
(12/09/09 18:00:53) Segev: Yeah, her.
(12/09/09 18:01:05) Segev: Cael would love that! He wants his friends safe!
(12/09/09 18:01:28) Andrensath: Ah, Summer Fruit. I keep forgetting to edit her out of Solitary's sheet, actually.
(12/09/09 18:02:00) Segev: (Also, he is almost certainly, if Unspeakable Rite actually wants free of the Mask, going to try to mount a burglary of the Mask's Monstrance holdings. For Unspeakable's in particular, and for any others they can carry off in the process.)
(12/09/09 18:02:42) Myllinnia: Wha, the Monsterances survived 2 TAs?
(12/09/09 18:03:02) Andrensath: 3, actually. Which makes it even more impressive.
(12/09/09 18:03:38) Segev: 1) You're assuming they were in Juggernaut.
(12/09/09 18:03:49) Myllinnia: Well ya, it made some sense that they were XD
(12/09/09 18:03:56) Segev: 2) They're tough little buggers. It'd probably take a TCS-equiv. effect targetting them specifically to break 'em.
(12/09/09 18:04:18) Segev: 3) You're assuming we managed to catch them in the TAs at all, and they weren't just burried in the rubble.
(12/09/09 18:04:36) Andrensath: TCS?
(12/09/09 18:04:36) Myllinnia: kk I conceed to 3. Xd
(12/09/09 18:04:44) Myllinnia: Terrestial Circle?
(12/09/09 18:05:14) Segev: Er, Third Circle.
(12/09/09 18:05:15) Segev: Sorry.
(12/09/09 18:05:16) Andrensath: Could be Third. Which is why it's confusing.
(12/09/09 18:05:37) Segev: Should have said SCS.
(12/09/09 18:05:37) Andrensath: Gah.
(12/09/09 18:07:07) Andrensath: Anyway, though, if they were in Juggernaut I'm fairly sure both Cael and Nuwa would have suggested hitting them with at least one of the TAs.
(12/09/09 18:12:00) Myllinnia: nod nod
(12/09/09 18:16:21) Segev: 'night, all.
(12/09/09 18:16:21) Myllinnia: nn
(12/09/09 18:16:21) Sunrunner: Sleep well.
(12/09/09 18:16:21) Andrensath: So, um, is it okay with Sunrunner if we rule that one or more of the TAs was used to destroy the Monstrances, possibly in addition to damaging Juggernaut itself?
(12/09/09 18:16:21) Myllinnia: I should do that sleep thing myself. I have to wait a bit though for my next dose of put me under night time flu meds.
(12/09/09 18:16:47) Andrensath: Night, Segev
(12/09/09 18:16:48) Sunrunner: I would have to check the details of the artifact. I believe they are indestructable by anything less than Oblivion itself.
(12/09/09 18:17:32) Andrensath: I thought using Oblivion to destroy a Monstrance also destroyed any chance of the Abyssal turning back into a Solar?
(12/09/09 18:19:02) Sunrunner: Durability: 30A/30L/30B soak; 50 levels of damage
needed to bend the bars or break a hole wide enough for an
adult human to squeeze through and 100 levels of damage to
destroy completely. No magic can harm them in any way.
(12/09/09 18:19:28) Sunrunner: The Total Annihilations would have bounced.
(12/09/09 18:19:42) Myllinnia: Wow TA noneffective ><
(12/09/09 18:19:56) Myllinnia: You need to physically beat one up. Wow... XD
(12/09/09 18:19:58) Sunrunner: I would call it magic, and so ... the artifact specifies.
(12/09/09 18:19:58) Andrensath: ...Well, that's cheesy. The whole point of Total Annihilation is that it can destroy anything.
(12/09/09 18:21:27) Andrensath: Anyway, I guess we're stuck using UotCF to create another uber-Exalt and then hitting them with stuff till they break.
(12/09/09 18:23:18) Sunrunner: If I was a Deathlord, I would keep my monstances in Stygia, in a palace near the Mouth of Oblivion. With trap doors under them to drop them into Oblivion if anyone but myself touches the Monstrance.
(12/09/09 18:23:59) Sunrunner: Because that way, no one can break one without killing the abyssal, and I would rather the abyssal died than giving them the chance of freedom.
(12/09/09 18:24:04) Myllinnia: Ah that's one way. I always something seqeustered away by their lords to keep them away from others.
(12/09/09 18:25:30) Sunrunner: And since the Deathlords are by definition smarter than I am; I being limited to the same limits as any other mortal; I have to assume that they would be better defended and more heavily if/then trapped.
(12/09/09 18:25:35) Andrensath: Although that trick of Sunrunner's is easy enough to get around, if a large enough group does the raid. Get each of them lifted, and then have CSC sorcerers TWD the group out.
(12/09/09 18:26:44) Sunrunner: That'd work. Of course, that would just be the physical setup. I'm sure they would put stuff in there to protect the monstances. And to stop those pesky heroes from ever saving an abyssal. And their dog too. =p
(12/09/09 18:27:22) Myllinnia: lol
(12/09/09 18:28:05) Sunrunner: Or, to translate, I will make it difficult to do such a thing. Not impossible. Simply difficult. And more of an investigation, combined with social and physical combat, than a simple smash-n-grab.
(12/09/09 18:28:22) Andrensath: Yeah. Probably easier to just redeem all of them. No more Abyssals for the Deathlords then.
(12/09/09 18:29:04) Sunrunner: Except that Solars can be converted into Abyssals.
(12/09/09 18:29:41) Sunrunner: And said conversion doesn't necessarily have to be willing. You just have to be willing to kill the solar to get at the essence.
(12/09/09 18:30:07) Andrensath: Which is why you smash every Monstrance the minute there are no Abyssals left.
(12/09/09 18:30:14) ***Sunrunner nods.
(12/09/09 18:31:34) Andrensath: Anyway, um, it's been nice talking to you guys, but I really need to go and start making myself dinner now.
(12/09/09 18:31:41) Sunrunner: Heh. Enjoy.
(12/09/09 18:32:08) Myllinnia: Enjoy ^^
(12/09/09 18:32:34) Myllinnia: I shall flit off to bed, then. nn ^^
(12/09/09 18:32:41) Sunrunner: Sleep well.
(12/09/09 18:32:47) Sunrunner left the room.
(12/09/09 18:32:52) Myllinnia: thankie ^^
(12/09/09 18:32:53) Myllinnia left the room.
