A PC in Personhood Tales.

Lee the Savvyhead

Look

ambiguous, scrounge wear plus tech, pretty face, appraising eyes, wiry body

Lee wears scrounged armor over an enveloping robe; the hood is usually thrown back, revealing an androgynously pretty face and a short-chopped shock of red hair, but all one can tell about the body underneath the robe is that it's thin and taut. Lee is never without web gear loaded with tools and tech crap and almost always a pistol.

Initial Questions

  • Always is strangest, because hocus.
  • Always and Blue are about tied for most likely to cause trouble. I'll break the tie in Always' direction, because hocus. I don't trust them. Not since Rabbit.

Workspace

  • weird-ass electronica
  • machine tools
  • transmitters and receivers

Gear

  • 9mm (2-harm close loud)
  • many sharp things (2-harm hand infinite)
  • improvised armor (armor-1)
  • oddments worth 3-barter

Quotes

  • "I'm not sure [what the thing is that makes a stranger walking into my workshop stop and say 'What the hell is that?']. I mean, I know what they're looking at, but I don't know what it's going to be. Every so often I get inspired and add some more parts to it, worm gears, rotor coils, arc breakers and Möbius belts and centrifugal clutches. Once I blacked out and it was twice as big when I woke up three days later. Perhaps it's my child. Will it respect me, or reject me? I'll know soon—it's almost done."
  • "Deegan [is my favorite thing I ever built]. I made her, you know. Rebuilt her from the ground up. That was back at Continental's hold, where I had a bigger workshop with life support and a crew. I took the wreckage of Marie and I turned her into Deegan and what did it get me? That fucking hocus Rabbit called me a witch, burned down my workshop—nearly with me in it—and Continental threw me out into the wrecking fields. Never trust a hocus.
"I kinda wonder where Deegan is now, what she's doing. My first child. My lost love."
  • "What is a weapon? It's an object with the potential to kill. What object doesn't have that potential? Some things have more of it than others, of course. It would be wrong, not morally wrong but wrong like wearing your pants on your head, not to bring out that potential. I do it for Wolf, I do it for Fishleg when his gang comes round, I did it for Mr. Final, but unfortunately if I do it for Maomao or Been then the other one will kill me, and if I don't do it for either of them then eventually one of them will kill me anyway, or find a brainer to hollow me out and make me dance."

From Others

  • Wolf: "Have you seen that fucking thing there in [Lee's] lab? Creepy as hell, and the way stuff just shows up on it without knowing what it's for does not help. If I were in Lee's shoes, I'd want me guarding their shit to keep people from coming in and smashing that, even before we get to the whole mess with Maomao and Been getting ready to go at it."
  • Blue: "Would you believe that skinny pretty boy with toolshed stood up to me? I told him to fix one of my bikes and he gave me some bullshit line about a 'previous order' he had to finish first. I threatened to take a hammer to his hand, and you know my boys were standing right behind me, ready to make it happen.
"He didn't even blink. Just pointed out that a broken hand would mean it would take even longer before he finished what he was doing and could see to the bike."
