History

Only child of WW2 Colonel Manfred "Manny" Phillips, Dee opted to enlist on her eighteenth birthday, and by August of 1972, was stationed in Vietnam as part of the military intelligence community. She continued to volunteer and served in the ARVN until the final days of the war, and while she wasn't in the last helicopter out, she was in the embassy, burning papers when ordered to leave. This assignment shaped her entire life.

In her first month, she was attached as an aide to a Captain Richard Donovan, MI, whose attachment to the slowly reforming Delta Green (post Operation OBSIDIAN) involved him and, because of the military assignment, in a cross-border mission in Laos. This mission would be later known as Operation RED CHRISTMAS. Dee remained part of the unofficial DG team in the theatre until her reassignment stateside.

Shortly after returning to the United States, SP/5 Phillips was released from service, and she pursued a degree in history. Upon graduation, she petitioned for, and was accepted, as an Officer in the United States Army and, with a few favors called in between her own contacts and those of her fathers, the young officer was posted to Military Intelligence.

Everyone knows there were no WMDs in Iraq, and certainly none used during Operation Desert Storm. Then-Major Phillips was assigned forward with a small team of "experts" and a detail of Special Forces 'In The Know', placed forward to the Ziggurat of Ur prior to the War. Operation GARDEN PLOT pulled the plug on Saddam Hussein's use of non-conventional materials to make war against the Allied forces, and at minimal losses that were never on the books. Major Phillips, one mission specialist and three SF returned to their normal assignments in 1993, after an extensive debrief.

She retired from the Army in 1998, it was, in her words, a young man's game any more, though as with all in this particular Branch, "Once in, Never out". Due to her feeding, in a judicious manner, intelligence as was useful throughout her career, Colonel Phillips still has contacts in the various intelligence networks.
