The Session log is a collection of notable points and important things that happened so far in the game. Important in-character happenings should be chronicled on each character's page.

* The group meets via a mission to retrieve a cart and escort it into the city. It contains a casket with intriguing writings. Fight at the oasis, attacked by Sons of Set. (Pentagram with a serpent encircling an elongated point.) Fight at the waystation outside of the city, hired assassins bear a note to beware Sons of Set.
* The cart is escorted through the gates without issue. Moving the cart through the bad part of town draws attention, a fight ensues. Kat'tho and Hargrave die in battle. Little Ouro, Half-giant Monk bodyguard of Per joins the party (in thanks for us getting Hargrave killed). Megaera recruits the Dwarf Battlemind Harbek to replace her fallen gladiator. Negotiations for a fight between Harbek and the entire Orestes stables occur.
* Harbek defeats the entirety of the Orestes stables without landing a single blow. Sfika throws a huge party. Megaera recieves a tattoo as a gift from her mother. Fight arranged between Tisiphone and Harbek. Harbek and Daraek share Daraek's dream, with voices telling him that "The Queen is threated by the snake." and "Save the Queen." Party roused separately for similar purposes, to speak to Ka'thrain, a Thri'kreen Doomsayer who has been painting red stars all over the red tower district. Kathrain says ''"The snake is moving and has awakened the curse of Ryleh. You must stop the snake."'' All he will say about Ryleh is ''"Ryleh was one of the first prophets."'' Fight with zombines in ruins beneath the city. (Red pentagram with an eye atop the point.)
* Council of the Flesh ambushes the party on exit, asking for "The Codex." Ouro's old crew were thieves and had stolen some kind of gem. He flashed back to the heist, after bodies of thieves are found and people are sitting at a wake for them. The casket was closed. Nobody was sure how his friends died. The heist was to steal a gem called the "Desert Star." Back at the wake, relatives and friends of thieves are angry at Ouro. The Desert Star eventually went to Stheno. Nordmyra's nephew Joey has an apprenticeship with weaponmaker Donner. Joey is now playing around with magic at home. Daraek and Nordmyra go to Donner's workplace needing to speak with him about these events. Joey has been training with swords, but he, Donner, and Donner's other female apprentice Talaysa, are using Nordmyra's style of magic. Harbek saw this entire scene in a dream sequence. Daraek and Harbek shared another dream. The scene is crimson red. Three figures speak. ''"At the crimson star, the Sons of Set will break loose." -- "The rise of Erinyes approaches." -- "There will be an opening of the doors."'' Megaera meets Rose, knows her only as this chick in her head no one else can see.
* Tashia of Mericles has a party. Tartaros nobles (Felice and Maro) pick a fight with the sin siserts. Nordmyra's Niece, Paxilondra, is on drugs, they save her from being sold into slavery. Sister Sarah bursts down the door and starts a fight. Members of the Openers of the Way attack the party, and they summon an Id Fiend which nearly decimates the party. After this, the party bursts in on Tashia and her cronies having sacrificed many people and were in the process of sacrificing Lady Felice of House Tartaros. The party has no choice but to kill them. When things start to take a turn for the worse, a Winged Devil woman steps out of the place where Megaera is standing, and wreaks havoc among the remaining enemies. In the shuffle, Megaera kills Lady Felice with the sacrificial dagger, but lays the blame at the feet of Tashia.
* Two Merchant houses pledge small favors to the party for saving their nobles at the Mericles party. Harbek and Daraek have a bug dream, in which they are told to go save three Thri-kreen from ''"In the Shadow of the Red Tower."'' They are accosted by Megaera, wearing practically nothing, covered in blood, carrying a bag of books. The Red Tower is flashing light out of all of the windows, visible even in the daylight. Alecto and Ouro go visit the Praetor about the fight at the party. Learn a lot about the openers of the Way, meet the old Praetor who is not dead, but is host to three different essences. Learn that books have been stolen out of Kalak's library - the books Megaera has. Megaera learns that the summoning she attempted while passed out in The Red Tower would have made her host in actuality to Rose, the devil trapped in her tattoo. A red star comes out in the sky, triggering a dream sequence, and crimson star tattoos show up on the bodies of the party, in various places.
* Nordmyra brings the Thri-kreen to Donner's underground school where Joey is. She agrees with Donner to come once a week to help teach them, in exchange for his taking on the new charges. Harbek finds out that his father is getting married to Bjursteka, a tavern keeper with children named Storneka and Rytek. Harbek receives a key to something in Tyr unknown to the party. Meeting with Erinyes occurs. Stheno is annoyed and curious about why Megaera still looks the way she does and didn't give up her soul to her "imaginary friend." Alecto is questioned because she was in the library, and no one can get into the Red Tower. The Red Tower seems inepentrable until Harbek uses his mysterious key to get into the tower - after killing swarms of spiders, ice monsters, and a veritable army of demons, Harbek becomes Gatekeeper of the room, which he can shape to his will. The password is "Harbek is pretty much the best person ever."
* Stheno tells Alecto and Megaera that the house of Värnamo has a marriageable woman named Teles, and that the sisters need to prepare their brother, Tisiphone, for going to her debutante party. The houses of Erinyes and Värnamo could ally and become very strong. Alecto goes to a templar meeting. There is a new Mul templar named Genna Thricecursed. Also, the daughter of the deceased Sister Sara, Sister Sophia.
* Nordmyra's sister Naeve, and niece Paxalandra show up at one of Nordmyra's magic classes. It is revealed that Pax has been working as a hired street fighter. Harbek decides to take her under his wing and teach her to hold her own in the ring. Alecto and Megaera gather "dirt" on the other suitors of Teles from the rival houses, and go to the debutante party, where Tisiphone is, shall we say, "blitzed." Alecto and Megaera try in vain to cleanse him of the spike. Tisiphone proceeds to make an ass of himself, much to Teles' delight. Isthmene and ''Her'' are quite convinced that Megaera and Alecto are responsible for Tisiphone's drunken stupor.
* Antics Occur, Tisiphone is betrothed to Teles. More rooms in the Red Tower are gained. Megaera makes a pact with Rose which makes them friendly, and Rose is now effectively a protective older sister. Alecto is jealous. Harbek and Daraek rescue a rather young grashopper-swarm druid from Genna Thricecursed. The girl is a Seer and tells them that they are brothers, and that Genna is their sister. They have little time to contemplate this. Genna Thricecursed eventually catches all of party and they awaken slave-collared in The Dragon of Tyr's slave pens. The party escapes the slave pens through cunning planning.
* The party is escaping The Dragon of Tyr's island through a marketplace. A Fight occurs.
* They escape across the silt sea and fight a silt horror, find a tower and people and kill stuff. (MJ had two weeks of notes here, but they died somehow. Torso takes silver.)

==Personality==
Megaera is relentlessly cheerful. Relentlessly, because even (maybe especially) when she's angry, she's smiling. She is incredibly vain, often choosing extravagant outfits for as little reason as to turn a few more heads in the arena. Vain as she is, however, she is also very calculated. Every glance, hand movement, and blink of her eyes is perfectly timed to get the response she's looking for out of anyone who talks to her. There is no such thing as a casual chat in her vocabulary. Despite this, she gives the impression of a total ditz who has problems putting together a complete sentence.

== Connection to the Party ==

Megaera was handler for [[CrimsonStar:Ka'tho|Ka'tho]] before his untimely death. She is now handler for a new gladiator, [[CrimsonStar:Harbek|Harbek]].

[[CrimsonStar:Alecto|Alecto]], eldest daughter of Stheno and Scion of House Erinyes is her sister.

== History ==
Megaera is the youngest daughter of Stheno, and as such is a Scion of [[CrimsonStar:House_Erinyes|House Erinyes]]. She has an older sister named [[CrimsonStar:Alecto|Alecto]], and a brother named [[CrimsonStar:Notable Names#Tisiphone|Tisiphone]]. She has a healthy rivalry with both of her siblings, Alecto being her complete opposite in terms of demeanor, and thus opposed to her every decision, on principle. Her rivalry with Tisiphone is based upon household standing, That she is placed higher than him within the House due only to her gender chafes him, and makes any conversation they have a terse one. As a child, Megaera found a calling in music, and soon began training to be a bard. As her older sister was studying magic as was traditional for the family (under cover of The Way, of course), Megaera was free to choose her own path, and soon found herself a sought-after minstrel, both for her musical talents, and her way with the dangerous Thri-kreen.

Megaera, after a long private discussion with Stheno, was given as a gift to [[CrimsonStar:House_Sfika|House Sfika]], to cement an alliance between the houses. Her training as a minstrel made her an ideal spy for her mother, as well as a blessing on the house, with her influential music. At the tender age of 13, and with permission from the Lady of House Sfika, Megaera found refuge as a handler in the gladiatorial pits. As one of the only members of the house who could speak Thri-kreen, Megaera found herself becoming friends with the Thri-kreen gladiator champion [[CrimsonStar:Ka'Tho|Ka'Tho]]. As his handler, she made spending money, but also a lot of enemies in the arena. When her brother Tisiphone started to fight in the ring, Megaera was annoyed. She couldn't bet on the highest paying fights in the arenas because they often included her deadbeat brother. More problematic for her was the fact that Ka'tho refused to kill off her brother. "He smells like you", he'd said, and refused to do more than incapacitate him when they were rivals in the ring. This only worsened the relationship between Megaera and her brother, who was determined that she was telling Ka'tho not to hurt him, and thus hurting his reputation.

Just as things were starting to get boring for Megaera, she recieved a surprise visit from her sister Alecto. At the best of times, conversations between the sisters were sharp, and a visit was totally unprecedented. Megaera soon learned that Alecto was to be married to [[CrimsonStar:Notable_Names#Reacar|Reacar]] from House ((That one she can't remember that was picked out of the Ikea Book)), who was the worst match possible for Alecto, but would seal an alliance that had been in the works for a very long time. Alecto, at her most cunning, said just enough to plant ideas in her younger sister's mind. At 16, Megaera had no trouble using the bits of information she had gained from the conversation with her sister to sabotage the wedding. The young scion of ((That one house she can't remember that was picked out of the Ikea Book)) was too naive to tell the difference between the older and younger daughters of Stheno. Megaera seduced the young man on the afternoon of the wedding, and "accidentally" killed him through burning. She has denied any intention of anything other than stealing some time with Reacar before he was married to her sister and forever off-limits.

==Current Events==

===Session 1===
It turns out that despite [[CrimsonStar:Alecto|Alecto]]'s part in the downfall of her marriage, she was ready to lay it all at Megaera's feet. They were both summoned to a meeting with their mother, during which nothing at all was decided other than the fact that both sisters were being, well, themselves. After the biggest lecture of their lives (or at least in recent memory), the sisters were tasked with leading a mercenary escort to bring something belonging to their mother into the city - no questions asked, no knowledge of the contents of the cart. Going nowhere without the presence of her pet Thri-kreen gladiator [[CrimsonStar:Ka'tho|Ka'tho]], Megaera joins her sister in this endeavor, noting some interesting characters in their party. Especially that wasp guy. His white noise generating ...self... could be really useful in keeping secret conversations secret. She'd need to remember that. Megaera's thoughts continued to meander until they reached the oasis at which they were to meet the cart, to discover it being ambushed by Dref. The party springs into action, taking down the Dref, who proclaimed themselves to be "Sons of Set". They take custody of the cart, and Megaera heals their wounds while they travel back towards the city. They are ambushed again while waiting for the cover of nightfall to bring their cargo into the city. These attackers are common thugs, but it takes all Megaera has to keep everyone on their feet.

===Session 2===
Once dark falls, the party brings the cart into the city. To all appearances, Megaera is sleeping lightly against the side of the cart as it trundles into the worse areas of Tyr. For the third time, the cart is set upon by would-be thieves. This time, among their enemies is an elemental priest. The fight against these "Sons of Set" is bitter, and brutal, with Megaera's people being attacked from all sides, including the rooftops. Megaera is torn in too many directions. First one of the mercenaries dies, and then her friend, her Bug-man, falls under the Elemental Priest's brutal magics. All done in a brutal few minutes, but that fight cost Megaera her best friend. Not long after, [[CrimsonStar:Notable_Names#Stheno|Stheno]] arrived to take custody of the package, and Megaera was left to mourn Ka'tho's death.

After the Thri-kreen's untimely death, Megaera was tasked with finding a new champion for [[CrimsonStar:House_Sfika|House Sfika]], and fast. The fight between [[CrimsonStar:House_Orestes|House Orestes]]' entire gladiatorial stables and one single chosen champion of Sfika was coming up. Word had spread that the gladiator [[CrimsonStar:Harbek|Harbek]] was coming out of retirement to get back into the ring. With a letter of credit from House Sfika, she set off to recruit Harbek before House Orestes could lay a hand on him. With a little persuasion, a handful of promises, and large sums of money, Megaera manages to persuade Harbek to join her. After that, it is a whirlwind of cunning conversations and subtle bribery to even the odds between her strong gladiator, and the entirety of the House Orestes Stables.

===Session 3===
Megaera watches from the stands as her new gladiator, Harbek, takes on the House Orestes stables without landing a single blow. When the fight ends, the cheers are deafening. Everyone is whisked off to a party at which Megaera recieves a tattoo from her mother as a gift for bringing such honor to the house. At the party, she arranges a fight between Tisiphone and Harbek.

In the middle of the night, Alecto wakes Megaera up and demands that she goes along to meet this Thri-kreen (Ka'thrain) who knows about the red star stuff. Megaera being able to speak Thri-kreen, she didn't argue, woke up her hungover gladiator bodyguard, and went along. They had a lively fight with some undead and a really misty thing underground, and when they came back to the surface Ka'thrain was dead, and they were attacked by more Sons of Set. It was all Megaera could do to keep her rag-tag band of folks alive.

There are some things that have changed, or rather are just more clarified, as far as what we need to do and what the etiquette is, so do MJ's OCD a favor and read through this whole page, even if it seems devilishly familiar, okay?

==Campaign Wiki How-to==

This page is where we can keep track of who's doing what to make this campaign wiki a whole lot more awesome. Just looking at all of the pages and the recently edited things isn't really enough information about what's been done.

I've added a subsection for everyone under their name, so we can keep track of who's done what, and know what's new to check out, etc. If you'll note the parentheses after Joe and MJ, that's our Wiki Login Names. That's what shows up when we edit a page. You need to register and get one of these, and then go ahead and add it here when you have it!

Remember that our goal here is to keep track of what happens in game as well as to make it a resource for things we need to actually play the game. Go have fun with the wiki-goodness, but please remember to '''''Sign In''''' before editing any pages! Just seeing an IP address (a series of numbers that looks like 111.22.33.444) is no fun when trying to figure out who did what.

If you're not comfortable doing any actual editing on the wiki, feel free to send your content to MJ, and she'll make sure it gets up on the wiki. It might take the whole week for it to get up, but she'll do her best to get it up before the next game.

===Creating and Editing Pages===

You'll all find that your character names on the Main Page here are red links. Red links in wiki-language means that there's not a page there and there should be. The link to your name is actually a link to CrimsonStar:YourName. Where YourName is whatever your character's name is, of course. CrimsonStar is our "Namespace". What that means is that every page we create for this campaign should start with CrimsonStar: Just like that. Capitals where they are, colon at the end, followed by your page name. In addition, your page names should have an underscore where you'd have a space. Like Main Page is actually Main_Page.

Here are some tips for editing pages:
* If you're unsure where to start for a page, check out what we did in the [[Orichalcum_Handbasket:Main_Page|Orichalcum Handbasket]] campaign. Feel free to click the edit button for a page if you want to see how to do something in wiki-language - just don't actually save the changes on the page!
* Any time you are writing along and you want to link to a page (Like if you're naming someone), put in a link instead of their name. Links in wiki-language are weird. Start with two brackets [[ Then, you want to put the name of the ''page'' you want to link. Like if you want to link the Main Page, you'd put CrimsonStar:Main_Page after the brackets. Then, you put a vertical line character | You can find it above your enter key, it's shift-\. After that |, you put whatever you want the link to actually say. Like Children of the Crimson Star. Then, another two brackets ]] . Put all that together, and it looks like this: [[CrimsonStar:Main_Page|Children of the Crimson Star]].
* Be careful with links. A few carefully chosen links are better than other links. A good rule of thumb is to only link something once per section. (A section is something that uses = in wiki-language. For example, if MJ is writing a scene between Megaera and Alecto, she'd only link to Alecto's page the first time she said her name. The whole scene should go in one section, so there's no need for another link.
* There are a lot more neat things that you can do. Two apostrophes makes text ''italic''. Three apostrophes makes '''Bold'''. If you're not sure it looks right, because it's hard to understand wiki-language sometimes, just hit "Show Preview" and it'll show you what your page looks like right now. Just remember that that doesn't mean it's posted yet!
* If you want to know how to do something and you can't figure it out, try looking at [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Editing |Wikipedia's Editing Help Page]]. If that doesn't tell you what you need to know, try Google. You'd be surprised what you can find about wiki editing.

===Writing Story===

So, we're all part of this whole Campaign, where all sorts of things are happening, and it can be hard to keep track of everything all at once. MJ and Devon will likely have their netbooks out during game and be keeping notes about the things that happen, but they'll all need details added to them once the session is over.

Here are some tips about how to write story for the campaign:
* Check out the [[CrimsonStar:Annals_of_the_Company|Annals of the Company]] which is the session log. This is the bare bones bullet points of what happens. There will be red links there after every session that need to be created and explained. If there's something there you can write about or add to, go ahead! This is a group project, we're all adding to it.
* On that note, below is a to-do list. We'll try to keep it up to date with red links that are in our wiki, so that we know what needs to get done. If you're in the middle of working on something and you'd like to make sure you get to finish what you were doing before other people add to it, put it in the "In Progress" section below, and we'll leave it for you.
* If something on one page is getting really long, write a short summary of it, and then take your long section and make it its own page.
* If you're not sure about something you're adding that hasn't happened, be sure to talk to Erik about it so he can approve / deny your plot point.

This page is where we can keep track of who's doing what to make this campaign wiki a whole lot more awesome. Just looking at all of the pages and the recently edited things isn't really enough information about what's been done.

I've added a subsection for everyone under their name, so we can keep track of who's done what, and know what's new to check out, etc. If you'll note the parentheses after Joe and MJ, that's our Wiki Login Names. That's what shows up when we edit a page. You need to register and get one of these, and then go ahead and add it here when you have it!

Remember that our goal here is to keep track of what happens in game as well as to make it a resource for things we need to actually play the game. Go have fun with the wiki-goodness, but please remember to '''''Sign In''''' before editing any pages! Just seeing an IP address (a series of numbers that looks like 111.22.33.444) is no fun when trying to figure out who did what.

If you're not comfortable doing any actual editing on the wiki, feel free to send your content to MJ, and she'll make sure it gets up on the wiki. It might take the whole week for it to get up, but she'll do her best to get it up before the next game.

===Creating and Editing Pages===

You'll all find that your character names on the Main Page here are red links. Red links in wiki-language means that there's not a page there and there should be. The link to your name is actually a link to CrimsonStar:YourName. Where YourName is whatever your character's name is, of course. CrimsonStar is our "Namespace". What that means is that every page we create for this campaign should start with CrimsonStar: Just like that. Capitals where they are, colon at the end, followed by your page name. In addition, your page names should have an underscore where you'd have a space. Like Main Page is actually Main_Page.

Here are some tips for editing pages:
* If you're unsure where to start for a page, check out what we did in the [[Orichalcum_Handbasket:Main_Page|Orichalcum Handbasket]] campaign. Feel free to click the edit button for a page if you want to see how to do something in wiki-language - just don't actually save the changes on the page!
* Any time you are writing along and you want to link to a page (Like if you're naming someone), put in a link instead of their name. Links in wiki-language are weird. Start with two brackets [[ Then, you want to put the name of the ''page'' you want to link. Like if you want to link the Main Page, you'd put CrimsonStar:Main_Page after the brackets. Then, you put a vertical line character | You can find it above your enter key, it's shift-\. After that |, you put whatever you want the link to actually say. Like Children of the Crimson Star. Then, another two brackets ]] . Put all that together, and it looks like this: [[CrimsonStar:Main_Page|Children of the Crimson Star]].
* Be careful with links. A few carefully chosen links are better than other links. A good rule of thumb is to only link something once per section. (A section is something that uses = in wiki-language. For example, if MJ is writing a scene between Megaera and Alecto, she'd only link to Alecto's page the first time she said her name. The whole scene should go in one section, so there's no need for another link.
* There are a lot more neat things that you can do. Two apostrophes makes text ''italic''. Three apostrophes makes '''Bold'''. If you're not sure it looks right, because it's hard to understand wiki-language sometimes, just hit "Show Preview" and it'll show you what your page looks like right now. Just remember that that doesn't mean it's posted yet!

So, we're all part of this whole Campaign, where all sorts of things are happening, and it can be hard to keep track of everything all at once. MJ and Devon will likely have their netbooks out during game and be keeping notes about the things that happen, but they'll all need details added to them once the session is over.

'''The Noble House Tartaros''' (Tar-Tar-Ohs) is a very powerful house with vast fertile holdings to the north of Tyr. Noted for being ''very'' skilled in "The Way" as well as having several Scions skilled the arcane arts (Arcanist are mostly seconded to the Templars). Due to bargains with primal powers, their elder ranks are touched by elemental magics, becoming the not-quite-human beings called "genasi" by the learned. Their humanity is likewise suspect; untold generations of dabbling in primal forces leave many of them with the unmistakable mark of elemental magics.

==Economy==
Tartaros has exclusive noble privilege to a small aquifer to the north of Tyr. While the lands are somewhat further away from Tyr itself than many other noble holdings, Tartaros lands are very prosperous. Tartaros is '''very''' adept at growing crops and various types of herbs/vegetables/mushrooms. Tartaros is also very adept at concocting a number of different types of alchemical substances such as the variants of "Dream Honey" the regular type is used to keep the vast number of slaves in line and docile a slightly altered form of [[CrimsonStar:Dream_Honey|Dream Honey]] (known as [[CrimsonStar:Dream_Honey#Nightmare|Nightmare]]) turns a recipient into a berserker. The number of slaves that Tartaros has and seemingly produces at an astonishing rate no can say if it’s by forced enslavement or forced breeding. The slaves serve a secondary function as the main portion of the military (see below).

==Military==
House Tartaros also contributes the most soldiers to the Grand Army of Tyr. That being said these tend to be slave soldiers deliberately addicted to "Dream Honey" a powerful narcotic. What the Tartaros battle-slaves lack in skill and equipment they make up for in their berserker frenzy from a slightly altered formula of [[CrimsonStar:Dream_Honey|Dream Honey]] known as [[CrimsonStar:Dream_Honey#Nightmare|Nightmare]]. The battle slaves are followed quickly by the regular house troops, a much smaller contingent of sane well equipped regulars.

Powerful due to number of soldiers they can contribute the contingent of seconded Templars, and wealth. The weakness of the house politically is their implied connection to several plots that fell flat.

==Personality==
Megaera is relentlessly cheerful. Relentlessly, because even (maybe especially) when she's angry, she's smiling. She is incredibly vain, often choosing extravagant outfits for as little reason as to turn a few more heads in the arena. Vain as she is, however, she is also very calculated. Every glance, hand movement, and blink of her eyes is perfectly timed to get the response she's looking for out of anyone who talks to her. There is no such thing as a casual chat in her vocabulary. Despite this, she gives the impression of a total ditz who has problems putting together a complete sentence.

Megaera was handler for [[CrimsonStar:Ka'tho|Ka'tho]] before his untimely death. She is now handler for a new gladiator, [[CrimsonStar:Harbek|Harbek]].

[[CrimsonStar:Alecto|Alecto]], eldest daughter of Stheno and Scion of House Erinyes is her sister.

== History ==
Megaera is the youngest daughter of Stheno, and as such is a Scion of [[CrimsonStar:House_Erinyes|House Erinyes]]. She has an older sister named [[CrimsonStar:Alecto|Alecto]], and a brother named [[CrimsonStar:Tisiphone|Tisiphone]]. She has a healthy rivalry with both of her siblings, Alecto being her complete opposite in terms of demeanor, and thus opposed to her every decision, on principle. Her rivalry with Tisiphone is based upon household standing, That she is placed higher than him within the House due only to her gender chafes him, and makes any conversation they have a terse one. As a child, Megaera found a calling in music, and soon began training to be a bard. As her older sister was studying magic as was traditional for the family (under cover of The Way, of course), Megaera was free to choose her own path, and soon found herself a sought-after minstrel, both for her musical talents, and her way with the dangerous Thri-kreen.

Megaera, after a long private discussion with Stheno, was given as a gift to [[CrimsonStar:House_Sfika|House Sfika]], to cement an alliance between the houses. Her training as a minstrel made her an ideal spy for her mother, as well as a blessing on the house, with her influential music. At the tender age of 13, and with permission from the Lady of House Sfika, Megaera found refuge as a handler in the gladiatorial pits. As one of the only members of the house who could speak Thri-kreen, Megaera found herself becoming friends with the Thri-kreen gladiator champion [[CrimsonStar:Ka'tho|Ka'tho]]. As his handler, she made spending money, but also a lot of enemies in the arena. When her brother Tisiphone started to fight in the ring, Megaera was annoyed. She couldn't bet on the highest paying fights in the arenas because they often included her deadbeat brother. More problematic for her was the fact that Ka'tho refused to kill off her brother. "He smells like you", he'd said, and refused to do more than incapacitate him when they were rivals in the ring. This only worsened the relationship between Megaera and her brother, who was determined that she was telling Ka'tho not to hurt him, and thus hurting his reputation.

Just as things were starting to get boring for Megaera, she recieved a surprise visit from her sister Alecto. At the best of times, conversations between the sisters were sharp, and a visit was totally unprecedented. Megaera soon learned that Alecto was to be married to [[CrimsonStar:Notable_Names#Reacar|Reacar]] from House ((That one she can't remember that was picked out of the Ikea Book)), who was the worst match possible for Alecto, but would seal an alliance that had been in the works for a very long time. Alecto, at her most cunning, said just enough to plant ideas in her younger sister's mind. At 16, Megaera had no trouble using the bits of information she had gained from the conversation with her sister to sabotage the wedding. The young scion of ((That one house she can't remember that was picked out of the Ikea Book)) was too naive to tell the difference between the older and younger daughters of Stheno. Megaera seduced the young man on the afternoon of the wedding, and "accidentally" killed him through burning. She has denied any intention of anything other than stealing some time with Reacar before he was married to her sister and forever off-limits.

==Current Events==

===Session 1===
It turns out that despite [[CrimsonStar:Alecto|Alecto]]'s part in the downfall of her marriage, she was ready to lay it all at Megaera's feet. They were both summoned to a meeting with their mother, during which nothing at all was decided other than the fact that both sisters were being, well, themselves. After the biggest lecture of their lives (or at least in recent memory), the sisters were tasked with leading a mercenary escort to bring something belonging to their mother into the city - no questions asked, no knowledge of the contents of the cart. Going nowhere without the presence of her pet Thri-kreen gladiator [[CrimsonStar:Ka'tho|Ka'tho]], Megaera joins her sister in this endeavor, noting some interesting characters in their party. Especially that wasp guy. His white noise generating ...self... could be really useful in keeping secret conversations secret. She'd need to remember that. Megaera's thoughts continued to meander until they reached the oasis at which they were to meet the cart, to discover it being ambushed by Dref. The party springs into action, taking down the Dref, who proclaimed themselves to be "Sons of Set". They take custody of the cart, and Megaera heals their wounds while they travel back towards the city. They are ambushed again while waiting for the cover of nightfall to bring their cargo into the city. These attackers are common thugs, but it takes all Megaera has to keep everyone on their feet.

===Session 2===
Once dark falls, the party brings the cart into the city. To all appearances, Megaera is sleeping lightly against the side of the cart as it trundles into the worse areas of Tyr. For the third time, the cart is set upon by would-be thieves. This time, among their enemies is an elemental priest. The fight against these "Sons of Set" is bitter, and brutal, with Megaera's people being attacked from all sides, including the rooftops. Megaera is torn in too many directions. First one of the mercenaries dies, and then her friend, her Bug-man, falls under the Elemental Priest's brutal magics. All done in a brutal few minutes, but that fight cost Megaera her best friend. Not long after, [[CrimsonStar:Notable_Names#Stheno|Stheno]] arrived to take custody of the package, and Megaera was left to mourn Ka'tho's death.

After the Thri-kreen's untimely death, Megaera was tasked with finding a new champion for [[CrimsonStar:House_Sfika|House Sfika]], and fast. The fight between [[CrimsonStar:House_Orestes|House Orestes]]' entire gladiatorial stables and one single chosen champion of Sfika was coming up. Word had spread that the gladiator [[CrimsonStar:Harbek|Harbek]] was coming out of retirement to get back into the ring. With a letter of credit from House Sfika, she set off to recruit Harbek before House Orestes could lay a hand on him. With a little persuasion, a handful of promises, and large sums of money, Megaera manages to persuade Harbek to join her. After that, it is a whirlwind of cunning conversations and subtle bribery to even the odds between her strong gladiator, and the entirety of the House Orestes Stables.

===Session 3===
Megaera watches from the stands as her new gladiator, Harbek, takes on the House Orestes stables without landing a single blow. When the fight ends, the cheers are deafening. Everyone is whisked off to a party at which Megaera recieves a tattoo from her mother as a gift for bringing such honor to the house. At the party, she arranges a fight between Tisiphone and Harbek.

In the middle of the night, Alecto wakes Megaera up and demands that she goes along to meet this Thri-kreen (Ka'thrain) who knows about the red star stuff. Megaera being able to speak Thri-kreen, she didn't argue, woke up her hungover gladiator bodyguard, and went along. They had a lively fight with some undead and a really misty thing underground, and when they came back to the surface Ka'thrain was dead, and they were attacked by more Sons of Set. It was all Megaera could do to keep her rag-tag band of folks alive.

* Meet with Tartaros nobles (Lady Felice and Lord Maro) at Tashia of Mericles' party. Tashia splits up the discussion before it becomes a fight.
* Nordmyra's Niece Hemnessa is on crack, to be sold into slavery at the party. Nordmyra buys her for 200g.
* Fight breaks out at the party while everyone is eating or otherwise occupied, Sister Sarah bursting down the door causes the fights to start.
* Members of the Openers of the Way attack the party, and when the last one falls, they've managed to summon a big brain monster (Megaera and Alecto know it to be an Id Fiend). The monster tears the party apart, but Daraek inspires fortitude and the party vanquishes the monster with no casualties.
* The party bursts in on Tashia and her cronies having sacrificed many people and were in the process of sacrificing Lady Felice of House Tartaros. The party has no choice but to kill them. When things start to take a turn for the worse, a Winged Devil woman steps out of the place where Megaera is standing, and wreaks havoc among the remaining enemies. In the shuffle, Megaera kills Lady Felice with the sacrificial dagger, but lays the blame at the feet of Tashia.

'''Session 6:''' (9/9/11)
* Two Merchant houses pledge small favors to the party for saving their nobles at the Mericles party.
* Harbek and Daraek have a bug dream. Thri-kreen need saving. They and Nordmyra go to the Red Tower District ("In the shadow of the Red Tower" according to the dream) They find the Thri-kreen in the actual shadow, and wear them as "backpacks" out of the area, only to be accosted by Megaera, wearing practically nothing, covered in blood, carrying a bag of books. The Red Tower is flashing light out of all of the windows, visible even in the daylight.
* Alecto and Ouro go visit the Praetor about the fight at the party. Learn a lot about the openers of the Way, meet the old Praetor who is not dead, but is host to three different essences. Learn that books have been stolen out of Kalak's library.
* Megaera learns that the summoning she attempted while passed out in The Red Tower would have made her host in actuality to the demon/devil trapped in her tattoo.
* Faceless Assassin attempts to murder the sisters. The party, with much injury, incapacitates the assassin and turns her over to Stheno.
* A red star comes out in the sky, triggering a dream sequence, and crimson star tattoos show up on the bodies of the party, in various places.

There are some things that have changed, or rather are just more clarified, as far as what we need to do and what the etiquette is, so do MJ's OCD a favor and read through this whole page, even if it seems devilishly familiar, okay?

==Campaign Wiki How-to==

This page is where we can keep track of who's doing what to make this campaign wiki a whole lot more awesome. Just looking at all of the pages and the recently edited things isn't really enough information about what's been done.

I've added a subsection for everyone under their name, so we can keep track of who's done what, and know what's new to check out, etc. If you'll note the parentheses after Joe and MJ, that's our Wiki Login Names. That's what shows up when we edit a page. You need to register and get one of these, and then go ahead and add it here when you have it!

Remember that our goal here is to keep track of what happens in game as well as to make it a resource for things we need to actually play the game. Go have fun with the wiki-goodness, but please remember to '''''Sign In''''' before editing any pages! Just seeing an IP address (a series of numbers that looks like 111.22.33.444) is no fun when trying to figure out who did what.

If you're not comfortable doing any actual editing on the wiki, feel free to send your content to MJ, and she'll make sure it gets up on the wiki. It might take the whole week for it to get up, but she'll do her best to get it up before the next game.

===Creating and Editing Pages===

You'll all find that your character names on the Main Page here are red links. Red links in wiki-language means that there's not a page there and there should be. The link to your name is actually a link to CrimsonStar:YourName. Where YourName is whatever your character's name is, of course. CrimsonStar is our "Namespace". What that means is that every page we create for this campaign should start with CrimsonStar: Just like that. Capitals where they are, colon at the end, followed by your page name. In addition, your page names should have an underscore where you'd have a space. Like Main Page is actually Main_Page.

Here are some tips for editing pages:
* If you're unsure where to start for a page, check out what we did in the [[Orichalcum_Handbasket:Main_Page|Orichalcum Handbasket]] campaign. Feel free to click the edit button for a page if you want to see how to do something in wiki-language - just don't actually save the changes on the page!
* Any time you are writing along and you want to link to a page (Like if you're naming someone), put in a link instead of their name. Links in wiki-language are weird. Start with two brackets [[ Then, you want to put the name of the ''page'' you want to link. Like if you want to link the Main Page, you'd put CrimsonStar:Main_Page after the brackets. Then, you put a vertical line character | You can find it above your enter key, it's shift-\. After that |, you put whatever you want the link to actually say. Like Children of the Crimson Star. Then, another two brackets ]] . Put all that together, and it looks like this: [[CrimsonStar:Main_Page|Children of the Crimson Star]].
* Be careful with links. A few carefully chosen links are better than other links. A good rule of thumb is to only link something once per section. (A section is something that uses = in wiki-language. For example, if MJ is writing a scene between Megaera and Alecto, she'd only link to Alecto's page the first time she said her name. The whole scene should go in one section, so there's no need for another link.
* There are a lot more neat things that you can do. Two apostrophes makes text ''italic''. Three apostrophes makes '''Bold'''. If you're not sure it looks right, because it's hard to understand wiki-language sometimes, just hit "Show Preview" and it'll show you what your page looks like right now. Just remember that that doesn't mean it's posted yet!

So, we're all part of this whole Campaign, where all sorts of things are happening, and it can be hard to keep track of everything all at once. MJ and Devon will likely have their netbooks out during game and be keeping notes about the things that happen, but they'll all need details added to them once the session is over.

Here are some tips about how to write story for the campaign:
* Check out the [[CrimsonStar:Annals_of_the_Company|Annals of the Company]] which is the session log. This is the bare bones bullet points of what happens. There will be red links there after every session that need to be created and explained. If there's something there you can write about or add to, go ahead! This is a group project, we're all adding to it.
* On that note, below is a to-do list. We'll try to keep it up to date with red links that are in our wiki, so that we know what needs to get done. If you're in the middle of working on something and you'd like to make sure you get to finish what you were doing before other people add to it, put it in the "In Progress" section below, and we'll leave it for you.
* If something on one page is getting really long, write a short summary of it, and then take your long section and make it its own page.
* If you're not sure about something you're adding that hasn't happened, be sure to talk to Erik about it so he can approve / deny your plot point.

* Fight breaks out at the party while everyone is eating or otherwise occupied, Sister Sarah bursting down the door causes the fights to start.
* Members of the Openers of the Way attack the party, and when the last one falls, they've managed to summon a big brain monster (Megaera and Alecto know it to be an Id Fiend). The monster tears the party apart, but Daraek inspires fortitude and the party vanquishes the monster with no casualties.
* The party bursts in on Tashia and her cronies having sacrificed many people and were in the process of sacrificing Lady Felice of House Tartaros. The party has no choice but to kill them. When things start to take a turn for the worse, a Winged Devil woman steps out of the place where Megaera is standing, and wreaks havoc among the remaining enemies. In the shuffle, Megaera kills Lady Felice with the sacrificial dagger, but lays the blame at the feet of Tashia.

* Two Merchant houses pledge small favors to the party for saving their nobles at the Mericles party.
* Harbek and Daraek have a bug dream. Thri-kreen need saving. They and Nordmyra go to the Red Tower District ("In the shadow of the Red Tower" according to the dream) They find the Thri-kreen in the actual shadow, and wear them as "backpacks" out of the area, only to be accosted by Megaera, wearing practically nothing, covered in blood, carrying a bag of books. The Red Tower is flashing light out of all of the windows, visible even in the daylight.
* Alecto and Ouro go visit the Praetor about the fight at the party. Learn a lot about the openers of the Way, meet the old Praetor who is not dead, but is host to three different essences. Learn that books have been stolen out of Kalak's library.
* Megaera learns that the summoning she attempted while passed out in The Red Tower would have made her host in actuality to the demon/devil trapped in her tattoo.
* Faceless Assassin attempts to murder the sisters. The party, with much injury, incapacitates the assassin and turns her over to Stheno.

==Personality==
Megaera is relentlessly cheerful. Relentlessly, because even (maybe especially) when she's angry, she's smiling. She is incredibly vain, often choosing extravagant outfits for as little reason as to turn a few more heads in the arena. Vain as she is, however, she is also very calculated. Every glance, hand movement, and blink of her eyes is perfectly timed to get the response she's looking for out of anyone who talks to her. There is no such thing as a casual chat in her vocabulary. Despite this, she gives the impression of a total ditz who has problems putting together a complete sentence.

Megaera was handler for [[CrimsonStar:Ka'tho|Ka'tho]] before his untimely death. She is now handler for a new gladiator, [[CrimsonStar:Harbeck|Harbeck]].

[[CrimsonStar:Alecto|Alecto]], eldest daughter of Stheno and Scion of House Erinyes is her sister.

== History ==
Megaera is the youngest daughter of Stheno, and as such is a Scion of [[CrimsonStar:House_Erinyes|House Erinyes]]. She has an older sister named [[CrimsonStar:Alecto|Alecto]], and a brother named [[CrimsonStar:Tisiphone|Tisiphone]]. She has a healthy rivalry with both of her siblings, Alecto being her complete opposite in terms of demeanor, and thus opposed to her every decision, on principle. Her rivalry with Tisiphone is based upon household standing, That she is placed higher than him within the House due only to her gender chafes him, and makes any conversation they have a terse one. As a child, Megaera found a calling in music, and soon began training to be a bard. As her older sister was studying magic as was traditional for the family (under cover of The Way, of course), Megaera was free to choose her own path, and soon found herself a sought-after minstrel, both for her musical talents, and her way with the dangerous Thri-kreen.

Megaera, after a long private discussion with Stheno, was given as a gift to [[CrimsonStar:House_Sfika|House Sfika]], to cement an alliance between the houses. Her training as a minstrel made her an ideal spy for her mother, as well as a blessing on the house, with her influential music. At the tender age of 13, and with permission from the Lady of House Sfika, Megaera found refuge as a handler in the gladiatorial pits. As one of the only members of the house who could speak Thri-kreen, Megaera found herself becoming friends with the Thri-kreen gladiator champion [[CrimsonStar:Ka'tho|Ka'tho]]. As his handler, she made spending money, but also a lot of enemies in the arena. When her brother Tisiphone started to fight in the ring, Megaera was annoyed. She couldn't bet on the highest paying fights in the arenas because they often included her deadbeat brother. More problematic for her was the fact that Ka'tho refused to kill off her brother. "He smells like you", he'd said, and refused to do more than incapacitate him when they were rivals in the ring. This only worsened the relationship between Megaera and her brother, who was determined that she was telling Ka'tho not to hurt him, and thus hurting his reputation.

Just as things were starting to get boring for Megaera, she recieved a surprise visit from her sister Alecto. At the best of times, conversations between the sisters were sharp, and a visit was totally unprecedented. Megaera soon learned that Alecto was to be married to [[CrimsonStar:Notable_Names#Reacar|Reacar]] from House ((That one she can't remember that was picked out of the Ikea Book)), who was the worst match possible for Alecto, but would seal an alliance that had been in the works for a very long time. Alecto, at her most cunning, said just enough to plant ideas in her younger sister's mind. At 16, Megaera had no trouble using the bits of information she had gained from the conversation with her sister to sabotage the wedding. The young scion of ((That one house she can't remember that was picked out of the Ikea Book)) was too naive to tell the difference between the older and younger daughters of Stheno. Megaera seduced the young man on the afternoon of the wedding, and "accidentally" killed him through burning. She has denied any intention of anything other than stealing some time with Reacar before he was married to her sister and forever off-limits.

==Current Events==

===Session 1===
It turns out that despite [[CrimsonStar:Alecto|Alecto]]'s part in the downfall of her marriage, she was ready to lay it all at Megaera's feet. They were both summoned to a meeting with their mother, during which nothing at all was decided other than the fact that both sisters were being, well, themselves. After the biggest lecture of their lives (or at least in recent memory), the sisters were tasked with leading a mercenary escort to bring something belonging to their mother into the city - no questions asked, no knowledge of the contents of the cart. Going nowhere without the presence of her pet Thri-kreen gladiator [[CrimsonStar:Ka'tho|Ka'tho]], Megaera joins her sister in this endeavor, noting some interesting characters in their party. Especially that wasp guy. His white noise generating ...self... could be really useful in keeping secret conversations secret. She'd need to remember that. Megaera's thoughts continued to meander until they reached the oasis at which they were to meet the cart, to discover it being ambushed by Dref. The party springs into action, taking down the Dref, who proclaimed themselves to be "Sons of Set". They take custody of the cart, and Megaera heals their wounds while they travel back towards the city. They are ambushed again while waiting for the cover of nightfall to bring their cargo into the city. These attackers are common thugs, but it takes all Megaera has to keep everyone on their feet.

===Session 2===
Once dark falls, the party brings the cart into the city. To all appearances, Megaera is sleeping lightly against the side of the cart as it trundles into the worse areas of Tyr. For the third time, the cart is set upon by would-be thieves. This time, among their enemies is an elemental priest. The fight against these "Sons of Set" is bitter, and brutal, with Megaera's people being attacked from all sides, including the rooftops. Megaera is torn in too many directions. First one of the mercenaries dies, and then her friend, her Bug-man, falls under the Elemental Priest's brutal magics. All done in a brutal few minutes, but that fight cost Megaera her best friend. Not long after, [[CrimsonStar:Notable_Names#Stheno|Stheno]] arrived to take custody of the package, and Megaera was left to mourn Ka'tho's death.

After the Thri-kreen's untimely death, Megaera was tasked with finding a new champion for [[CrimsonStar:House_Sfika|House Sfika]], and fast. The fight between [[CrimsonStar:House_Orestes|House Orestes]]' entire gladiatorial stables and one single chosen champion of Sfika was coming up. Word had spread that the gladiator [[CrimsonStar:Harbeck|Harbeck]] was coming out of retirement to get back into the ring. With a letter of credit from House Sfika, she set off to recruit Harbeck before House Orestes could lay a hand on him. With a little persuasion, a handful of promises, and large sums of money, Megaera manages to persuade Harbeck to join her. After that, it is a whirlwind of cunning conversations and subtle bribery to even the odds between her strong gladiator, and the entirety of the House Orestes Stables.

There are some things that have changed, or rather are just more clarified, as far as what we need to do and what the etiquette is, so do MJ's OCD a favor and read through this whole page, even if it seems devilishly familiar, okay?

==Campaign Wiki How-to==

This page is where we can keep track of who's doing what to make this campaign wiki a whole lot more awesome. Just looking at all of the pages and the recently edited things isn't really enough information about what's been done.

I've added a subsection for everyone under their name, so we can keep track of who's done what, and know what's new to check out, etc. If you'll note the parentheses after Joe and MJ, that's our Wiki Login Names. That's what shows up when we edit a page. You need to register and get one of these, and then go ahead and add it here when you have it!

Remember that our goal here is to keep track of what happens in game as well as to make it a resource for things we need to actually play the game. Go have fun with the wiki-goodness, but please remember to '''''Sign In''''' before editing any pages! Just seeing an IP address (a series of numbers that looks like 111.22.33.444) is no fun when trying to figure out who did what.

If you're not comfortable doing any actual editing on the wiki, feel free to send your content to MJ, and she'll make sure it gets up on the wiki. It might take the whole week for it to get up, but she'll do her best to get it up before the next game.

===Creating and Editing Pages===

You'll all find that your character names on the Main Page here are red links. Red links in wiki-language means that there's not a page there and there should be. The link to your name is actually a link to CrimsonStar:YourName. Where YourName is whatever your character's name is, of course. CrimsonStar is our "Namespace". What that means is that every page we create for this campaign should start with CrimsonStar: Just like that. Capitals where they are, colon at the end, followed by your page name. In addition, your page names should have an underscore where you'd have a space. Like Main Page is actually Main_Page.

Here are some tips for editing pages:
* If you're unsure where to start for a page, check out what we did in the [[Orichalcum_Handbasket:Main_Page|Orichalcum Handbasket]] campaign. Feel free to click the edit button for a page if you want to see how to do something in wiki-language - just don't actually save the changes on the page!
* Any time you are writing along and you want to link to a page (Like if you're naming someone), put in a link instead of their name. Links in wiki-language are weird. Start with two brackets [[ Then, you want to put the name of the ''page'' you want to link. Like if you want to link the Main Page, you'd put CrimsonStar:Main_Page after the brackets. Then, you put a vertical line character | You can find it above your enter key, it's shift-\. After that |, you put whatever you want the link to actually say. Like Children of the Crimson Star. Then, another two brackets ]] . Put all that together, and it looks like this: [[CrimsonStar:Main_Page|Children of the Crimson Star]].
* Be careful with links. A few carefully chosen links are better than other links. A good rule of thumb is to only link something once per section. (A section is something that uses = in wiki-language. For example, if MJ is writing a scene between Megaera and Alecto, she'd only link to Alecto's page the first time she said her name. The whole scene should go in one section, so there's no need for another link.
* There are a lot more neat things that you can do. Two apostrophes makes text ''italic''. Three apostrophes makes '''Bold'''. If you're not sure it looks right, because it's hard to understand wiki-language sometimes, just hit "Show Preview" and it'll show you what your page looks like right now. Just remember that that doesn't mean it's posted yet!

So, we're all part of this whole Campaign, where all sorts of things are happening, and it can be hard to keep track of everything all at once. MJ and Devon will likely have their netbooks out during game and be keeping notes about the things that happen, but they'll all need details added to them once the session is over.

Here are some tips about how to write story for the campaign:
* Check out the [[CrimsonStar:Annals_of_the_Company|Annals of the Company]] which is the session log. This is the bare bones bullet points of what happens. This is a group project, we're all adding to it.

His true home and ancestral is the badlands of Meng-Rez, where he associates himself with the Engulfer of Meng-Rez, a spirit who embodies the practice of swarm transformation and inhabits the badlands.

In the first age, Ebon was known as The Umbral Dragon, and was the Master Spy and King of All Thieves for Her Most Luminous Excellency and Savior of Creation, Her Exalted Highness Merela. As a reward for the loyal service of 86 years, The Umbral Dragon was given a Spear Thrower of Exalted Prowess, made of blue jade, with a core of Orichalcum. It is this artifact that Ebon is seeking to regain.

One day, while Ebon was having drinks at her favorite bar (in this town, anyway), she watched a man pound four thugs (thankfully not hers) into the floor with one hand. Being supremely impressed by this, she decided to take this man on as her bodyguard. Being the intelligent man that he is, he readily accepted this deal.

== Danger in Malfeas ==

Ebon finds herself in Malfeas, a very bad place to be. Instead of being as wary as she should, she flirted with and made advances toward the demon. This caused her to make a deal she may otherwise not have, and at this moment is a marionette of powers far larger than herself.
