Oy, a Discussion Page! Some of you are familiar with this whole Wiki thing from the [[Orichalcum_Handbasket:Main_Page|Orichalcum Handbasket]] Campaign. There are some things that have changed, or rather are just more clarified, as far as what we need to do and what the etiquette is, so do MJ's OCD a favor and read through this whole page, even if it seems devilishly familiar, okay?

==Campaign Wiki How-to==

This page is where we can keep track of who's doing what to make this campaign wiki a whole lot more awesome. Just looking at all of the pages and the recently edited things isn't really enough information about what's been done.

I've added a subsection for everyone under their name, so we can keep track of who's done what, and know what's new to check out, etc. If you'll note the parentheses after Joe and MJ, that's our Wiki Login Names. That's what shows up when we edit a page. You need to register and get one of these, and then go ahead and add it here when you have it!

Remember that our goal here is to keep track of what happens in game as well as to make it a resource for things we need to actually play the game. Go have fun with the wiki-goodness, but please remember to '''''Sign In''''' before editing any pages! Just seeing an IP address (a series of numbers that looks like 111.22.33.444) is no fun when trying to figure out who did what.

If you're not comfortable doing any actual editing on the wiki, feel free to send your content to MJ, and she'll make sure it gets up on the wiki. It might take the whole week for it to get up, but she'll do her best to get it up before the next game.

===Creating and Editing Pages===

You'll all find that your character names on the Main Page here are red links. Red links in wiki-language means that there's not a page there and there should be. The link to your name is actually a link to CrimsonStar:YourName. Where YourName is whatever your character's name is, of course. CrimsonStar is our "Namespace". What that means is that every page we create for this campaign should start with CrimsonStar: Just like that. Capitals where they are, colon at the end, followed by your page name. In addition, your page names should have an underscore where you'd have a space. Like Main Page is actually Main_Page.

Here are some tips for editing pages:
* If you're unsure where to start for a page, check out what we did in the [[Orichalcum_Handbasket:Main_Page|Orichalcum Handbasket]] campaign. Feel free to click the edit button for a page if you want to see how to do something in wiki-language - just don't actually save the changes on the page!
* Any time you are writing along and you want to link to a page (Like if you're naming someone), put in a link instead of their name. Links in wiki-language are weird. Start with two brackets [[ Then, you want to put the name of the ''page'' you want to link. Like if you want to link the Main Page, you'd put CrimsonStar:Main_Page after the brackets. Then, you put a vertical line character | You can find it above your enter key, it's shift-\. After that |, you put whatever you want the link to actually say. Like Children of the Crimson Star. Then, another two brackets ]] . Put all that together, and it looks like this: [[CrimsonStar:Main_Page|Children of the Crimson Star]].
* Be careful with links. A few carefully chosen links are better than other links. A good rule of thumb is to only link something once per section. (A section is something that uses = in wiki-language. For example, if MJ is writing a scene between Megaera and Alecto, she'd only link to Alecto's page the first time she said her name. The whole scene should go in one section, so there's no need for another link.
* There are a lot more neat things that you can do. Two apostrophes makes text ''italic''. Three apostrophes makes '''Bold'''. If you're not sure it looks right, because it's hard to understand wiki-language sometimes, just hit "Show Preview" and it'll show you what your page looks like right now. Just remember that that doesn't mean it's posted yet!
* If you want to know how to do something and you can't figure it out, try looking at [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Editing |Wikipedia's Editing Help Page]]. If that doesn't tell you what you need to know, try Google. You'd be surprised what you can find about wiki editing.

===Writing Story===

So, we're all part of this whole Campaign, where all sorts of things are happening, and it can be hard to keep track of everything all at once. MJ and Devon will likely have their netbooks out during game and be keeping notes about the things that happen, but they'll all need details added to them once the session is over.

Here are some tips about how to write story for the campaign:
* Check out the [[CrimsonStar:Annals_of_the_Company|Annals of the Company]] which is the session log. This is the bare bones bullet points of what happens. There will be red links there after every session that need to be created and explained. If there's something there you can write about or add to, go ahead! This is a group project, we're all adding to it.
* On that note, below is a to-do list. We'll try to keep it up to date with red links that are in our wiki, so that we know what needs to get done. If you're in the middle of working on something and you'd like to make sure you get to finish what you were doing before other people add to it, put it in the "In Progress" section below, and we'll leave it for you.
* If something on one page is getting really long, write a short summary of it, and then take your long section and make it its own page.
* If you're not sure about something you're adding that hasn't happened, be sure to talk to Erik about it so he can approve / deny your plot point.

Harbek is a rather simple dwarf, and always has been. He grew up in a somewhat poor household, living with his father, Dendor, for a time. His mother was never a part of his life, and he wasn't exactly a planned addition to his father's household. As it was, he knew little about her, and only then what his father had said about her.

Still, though, it was more or less a one night fling I had, after a bit of drinkin'. Well...one night and one day, anyway. Fantastic lass...more stamina than a hardened gladiator! Ahem...um, where was I? Oh, right! I meant for it to be a...one and done sorta thing. Well...I say one. But, she was gone the next day. Didn't see her again, save for once. After nearly a good year, she showed back up on my doorstep...not quite alone. I'll never forget what she said to me that day. 'I believe this belongs to you.' Were her words. Just that, and she set ya down on the threshold, turned and walked off. She didn't seem angry or nothin'. Just like it was a bit of business. Now, there was no question about it. You were my son! I could see it in the nose, and you were already showin' a bit of the family psionics. Had her eyes too though. So, 'course I had to keep you."

Harbek had a fairly decent upbringing. His father had been a freelance gladiator, until he lost his hand in a match, and had to retire. He'd managed to make enough in the ring to keep himself comfortable, though the addition of little Harbek put a strain on the finances. Given what his bloodline was, he set out to become a gladiator himself, so that he wouldn't be a strain on his father's finances anymore. He found a small house in need of gladiators, and joined their stables. Since the house wasn't large, the fights never got much attention, but he still performed well.

Like him, and his father before, the head of his house was quite the drinker. After seeing that he wasn't really going to get anywhere in the ring under his current house, he eventually challeneged the head of house to a drinking contest, in which he won his freedom. He had no desire of retiring, so he instead became a freelance gladiator, under tenuous contract with a well-connected manager. There, he slowly but surely advanced in the standings, until he came to the attention of a certain scion of house Svika.

===In the Company===

After being hired by [[CrimsonStar:Megaera | Megaera]], he soon found himself involved with a few other somewhat interesting folks, and what started as a simple gladiatorial arrangement has quickly become much more. He still has fights every now and then, but most of his time lately has been spent having altogether disturbing dreams, usually involving insects and a Mul by the name of [[CrimsonStar:Daraek | Daraek]]. When awake, he's also recently found himself dealing with insects...a band of black-carapaced Thri-Kreen. He hopes to find out what these dreams mean, and find a way to stop them. They're giving him a bit of a distaste for beer, and that's no good thing for a dwarf.

These artefacts are a twin pair of items of incredible power created by [[Mordant Custodian of the Unbalanced Scale of Justice]] for [[Terrible Bloody Rose]] and her lunar mate, Shining Ocelot.

== The Scepter ==
This item was wielded by [[Terrible Bloody Rose]] in order to enforce the laws of her domain. Though she was killed in the Usurpation, it has now found its way to the Perfect of Paragon. Though the staff's powers are still somewhat of a mystery, it is clear that it can do a number of things. It is able to cause all of those who swear an Oath on it to become bound by powerful magics. Those that break the laws of the domain are punished accordingly, and inescapably. It also seems to allow the wielder to communicate somehow with those who have sworn the oath, and appears to have a life-extending effect. It is unknown if the staff is capable of more, or if the staff would have more to offer to an Exalt.

== The Orb ==
This item was wielded by Shining Ocelot, in conjunction with The Scepter. It has not been found since the Usurpation, and nothing is currently known of its powers or location.

== The Beginning ==
She began her life as Jade Flower, the only daughter of a lower class family in the area of An Teng. Though her family was of little means, they had a strong morals and through them, Jade obtained a firm belief in justice and the necessity of law. However, as her town was small and on the outskirts of a larger protectorate, the government was terribly corrupt, and justice was nowhere to be found. Ruffians roamed the streets, the law enforcement was complacent and on the take, and her parents' small restaurant was on its last legs, having to pay protection money to thugs. As she blossomed into a beautiful young woman, the demands on her parents grew, for the leader of the local group of thugs wanted to drive her parents away and take Jade for himself. Eventually, Jade's family could no longer pay the bribes to keep the thugs sated, and the threats got worse. Jade implored the local courts to do something to help her family, but her pleas fell on deaf ears. Finally, she could stand it no longer, and decided that the law had to be taken into her own hands. Armed with only her sense of justice, she made her way to the thugs' stronghold, and demanded that they leave the town once and for all. This request was met with hostility, but Jade was undaunted. Her courage and steadfast determination brought the attention of the Unconquered Sun to her, and during the battle that followed, Jade Flower Exalted. The thugs were no match for her newfound strength, and in her righteous fury, she slaughtered every last one of them. Witnesses of the fight gave her a new name: Terrible Bloody Rose; beautiful in appearance, but deadly in her fury.

As she traveled the lands, she soon met up with her lunar mate, Shining Ocelot. He, too, had a strong belief that law was necessary for true peace to be obtained. In their journeys they came upon the strange mists in the city of Dari, and found their properties fascinating. The mists
have the ability to soothe those who inhale them, making them less prone to violence and, in fact, somewhat happier. They decided that this would be the perfect place to found a civilization based on justice and law, and did so. Dari soon became the capitol of The Domain of Stately Order. As their tributary quickly grew, they found that even their ideals alone were not enough to eradicate corruption and lawlessness. They did their best to attend to problems, but even Exalts cannot be everywhere at once, and the situation slowly worsened. In her despair, Rose decided that mortals were, ultimately, flawed. They could not be trusted to police themselves, and no law-enforcement agency would be enough to ensure loyalty to the order of the land. Thus, she came to her conclusion: if mortals could not be trusted, then only the non-living, inescapable forces of sorcery could provide what she was trying to achieve.

Leaving Shining Ocelot to watch over The Domain of Stately Order for a time, Terrible Bloody Rose went in search of someone who could create what she wanted. It was not long before she heard of an Soulsteel Alchemical Exalt named [[Mordant Custodian of the Unbalanced Scale of Justice]], a renowned crafter of powerful artefacts. She approached Mordant, and commissioned from him two items, a scepter and an orb, which would together become her new justice system.

The twin artefacts were a success. [[The Scepter and Orb of Peace and Order]] allowed Terrible Bloody Rose and Shining Ocelot to usher in a terrible new era of justice to their domain. Laws were now immutable, and punishments were swift and unerring. There was no way for the citizens to escape justice, and all was known within their rule. However, not all were pleased with their success, and many began to consider Rose and Ocelot to be deranged, imposing their will on others with no concern for the individual, and no consideration for the intricacies of justice. As such, when the Usurpation came, Terrible Bloody Rose found herself alone as her domain was assaulted by fearful and jealous enemies, and she became one of the first casualties, with many celebrating the act as the downfall of a horrific tyrant.

They decided that this would be the perfect place to found a civilization based on justice and law, and did so. Dari soon became the capitol of The Domain of Stately Order. As their tributary quickly grew, they found that even their ideals alone were not enough to eradicate corruption and lawlessness. They did their best to attend to problems, but even Exalts cannot be everywhere at once, and the situation slowly worsened. In her despair, Rose decided that mortals were, ultimately, flawed. They could not be trusted to police themselves, and no law-enforcement agency would be enough to ensure loyalty to the order of the land. Thus, she came to her conclusion: if mortals could not be trusted, then only the non-living, inescapable forces of sorcery could provide what she was trying to achieve.

Leaving Shining Ocelot to watch over The Domain of Stately Order for a time, Terrible Bloody Rose went in search of someone who could create what she wanted. It was not long before she heard of an Soulsteel Alchemical Exalt named [[Mordant Custodian of the Unbalanced Scale of Justice]], a renowned crafter of powerful artefacts. She approached Mordant, and commissioned from him two items, a scepter and an orb, which would together become her new justice system.

The twin artefacts were a success. [[The Scepter and Orb of Peace and Order]] allowed Terrible Bloody Rose and Shining Ocelot to usher in a terrible new era of justice to their domain. Laws were now immutable, and punishments were swift and unerring. There was no way for the citizens to escape justice, and all was known within their rule. However, not all were pleased with their success, and many began to consider Rose and Ocelot to be deranged, imposing their will on others with no concern for the individual, and no consideration for the intricacies of justice. As such, when the Usurpation came, Terrible Bloody Rose found herself alone as her domain was assaulted by fearful and jealous enemies, and she became one of the first casualties, with many celebrating the act as the downfall of a horrific tyrant.

== The Beginning ==
She began her life as Jade Flower, the only daughter of a lower class family in the area of An Teng. Though her family was of little means, they had a strong morals and through them, Jade obtained a firm belief in justice and the necessity of law. However, as her town was small and on the outskirts of a larger protectorate, the government was terribly corrupt, and justice was nowhere to be found. Ruffians roamed the streets, the law enforcement was complacent and on the take, and her parents' small restaurant was on its last legs, having to pay protection money to thugs. As she blossomed into a beautiful young woman, the demands on her parents grew, for the leader of the local group of thugs wanted to drive her parents away and take Jade for himself. Eventually, Jade's family could no longer pay the bribes to keep the thugs sated, and the threats got worse. Jade implored the local courts to do something to help her family, but her pleas fell on deaf ears. Finally, she could stand it no longer, and decided that the law had to be taken into her own hands. Armed with only her sense of justice, she made her way to the thugs' stronghold, and demanded that they leave the town once and for all. This request was met with hostility, but Jade was undaunted. Her courage and steadfast determination brought the attention of the Unconquered Sun to her, and during the battle that followed, Jade Flower Exalted. Her newfound strength was no match for the thugs, and in her righteous fury, she slaughtered every last one of them. Witnesses of the fight gave her a new name: Terrible Bloody Rose; beautiful in appearance, but deadly in her fury.

As she traveled the lands, she soon met up with her lunar mate, Shining Ocelot. He, too, had a strong belief that law was necessary for true peace to be obtained. In their journeys they came upon the strange mists in the city of Dari, and found their properties fascinating. The mists

Feyth (fay-th) is, or...was at least, a politician. He had gotten into politics in an attempt to help change things for the better in his hometown, the City of Salt-Founded Glory. However, he soon found that bureaucracy is plagued by many problems such as corruption, red-tape, inefficiency...and last but -definitely- not least, stifling boredom. After an attempt to liven up the town by bringing in a performing troupe was quashed thanks to there being "no room in the budget for such frivolity, and besides there's no point taking up the valuable time of the senate when there are far more important matters to discuss". Now, this made Feyth curious as to what exactly was more important than making the town so interesting. Apparently, it was vital that a decision be reached on whether they should hold the meeting to decide if the government buildings should be repainted this week or next week.

'''Bridges Burned'''

This was, sadly, the last straw. Feyth decided that the best way to effect change was to change things himself. First up, of course, was to fix this silly debate about repainting the buildings. Of course, being fed up with all the inefficiencies and red tape of the normal bureaucratic process, he sought the fastest end to this problem he could think of. Feyth decided the best way to end the stagnation of the bureaucracy would be to burn down all of the government buildings in town. Much to his surprise, this caused him to Exalt as a member of the Eclipse caste. It was rather fortuitous for him, however, as his newfound powers allowed him to convince the many eyewitnesses of a few important points:
*No, he had not just burned down any of those buildings. In fact, he had been nowhere near any of them at the time.
*It must have been a freak and oddly-specific lightning storm.
*While Feyth was leaving town, it was not because of any sort of guilt related to any sort of arson. It was simply because, being a government official, he was now out of a job thanks to the previously-established choosy lightning.

== The Beginnings of a Circle ==
As he was leaving his hometown, Feyth was in awe of his newfound powers. After all, if he could convince a crowd of angry people that he had not just burned down half their town, what else could he do? After a few days of travel, he found inspiration in the city of Gem. Or, to be more specific, the dormant volcano that housed Gem.

Feyth made up his mind and entered town, learning a few things about the local fire elementals from the townspeople, and proceeded to track down these elementals in the hopes of talking them into stirring things up. Really, the volcano had been dormant for far too long and besides...it was their own fault for building a city in a volcano. Unfortunately, he wasn't as stealthy about his plans as he'd hoped to be, and he soon found himself accosted by a group of rightly concerned townspeople. Thankfully, though, rescue came in the form of [[The Mountain That Devours|an enormous lizard]] and his tamer, [[Arisa]]. Thankfully, Arisa was able to convince Rover not to devour him, and Feyth found himself with a new companion, and another reason to leave town.

[[Sirokos]] vaulted into the room, sliding his way down a banner to get into the midst of battle.

== Round One ==
Much to his surprise [[Sirokos]] heard an ominous whisper in his ear mentioning his next incarnation. Sirokos disagreed about the deadly allusions, and (fired at the Sidereal, causing him to flee) wait, no...I mean, he fired at the dragon-thing and missed. Or so everyone but Sirokos and [[Feyth]] thinks.

Next, [[Ebon Hand of the Dragon|Ebon]] attempted to fire a pebble from a slingshot at the presumedly-blind Sidereal, who parried it with ease.

Sirokos turned his attention next to the blindfolded Sidereal, kicking up a bunch of rubble to bank his shots off of in an attempt to create the illusion of a stylized sun coming at him. It was, however, less impressive of an attack than the first, and was reflexively parried.

[[Duricorre]] Used the opportunity to punch the blindfolded Sidereal up into the air. The blow was glancing, but this still had the effect of being hit with a glancing blow from a train. Of bulldozers. The Sidereal went flying up into the air, but managed to direct his sword to attack the monk, and used fate to try and redirect some damage to his assailant. Thankfully for him, he had the Immortal Blade Deflecting Palm and perfectly defended all of it.

[[Feyth]], however, was less fortunate. After a somewhat lackluster attempt to use Demon-Wracking Glory failed to do more than annoy the dragon-thing, and he got swiped at time and time again. He was able to dodge most of the damage, but still was incapacitated.

Seeing the opportunity to avenge her friend, [[Arisa]] lept into action, charging at the dragon-thing and striking at her wings. She struck true, and gouts of demonic blood poured out of a rather nice looking wound in the left wing, though the dragon-thing still stands.

== Round Two ==
[[Ebon Hand of the Dragon|Ebon]] decided that her previous target was a bit too annoying, and decided to attack the other wing of the demonic dragon. This time, she struck true, and helped wound the big evil thing again.

[[The Mountain That Devours|Rover]] had been dancing around under the falling enemy, mouth open wide to be ready to eat another snack. Unfortunately, Sidereals are damned dodgy buggers, and so he was able to escape being eaten.

[[Sirokos]], ever the eager one to rush into danger and fire off his...guns, did exactly that and fired off twice, causing the dragon-spirit to dissipate.

== Join Battle ==
This battle began with a group of five Terrestrial Exalts and a Dragon Commander mowing through their own army thanks to the efforts of [[Feyth]] turning that army into -their- army. [[Sirokos]] created an explosion to propel himself into battle, in order to help destroy the Terrestrials as quick as possible. That fast bastard.

== Round One ==
[[Sirokos]] started off with Unspoken Price of the Brigand's Offer to toss a handful of coins up into the air and bank his shots off of them. The enemy archer attempted to parry the attack, but failed miserably since Sirokos is a little bit crazy. Needless to say, the archer was vaporized, along with all but the (very injured) fire aspect and the dragon lord.

Now, [[Arisa]] had arrived riding her massive [[The Mountain That Devours|mount]]. Rover bounded in with vigor and began to press his foot down in an attempt to squish very much the Dragon Commander. In response, the Terrestrial began to punch upward at the foot. Unfortunately, he used Pasiap Still Stands and took no damage. Arisa herself decided use the Inescapable Penetration, and the Commander tried to catch the spear before it hit him.

Since [[Ebon Hand of the Dragon|Ebon]] was knocked off her feet by Rover's attack, the Commander took the opportunity to attempt to smash the living hell out of her throat, but she Seven Shadows Evasion'd the hell out of it.

Ebon threw a rock. It did nothing. She flew upward.

In a fit of genius, [[Duricorre]] used his bionic arm like a helicopter to get to the Fire Aspect. The Fire Aspect did his best to shield himself from the blow, but was absolutely massacred. Using the battered corpse of his latest enemy, Durricore launced an attack on the Commander, doing no damage but launching him into the air.

Sirokos now took the opportunity to fire at the no-longer-grounded Commander, and fired off, banking (of course...) his shots off the bits of armor of the Fire Aspect. The Commander took damage, but he still lived.

[[Feyth]] sat around in the air, the useless bint.

== Round Two ==
While the Commander was on his way down, [[Arisa]] used another Inescapable Penetration to attempt to skewer the enemy. He was stabbed thusly, and Arisa did her best to aim the stabbed Terrestrial into [[The Mountain That Devours|Rover's]] mouth. Rover bit down, not hard enough to do much damage, but the Commander was now held in Rover's maw.

[[Ebon Hand of the Dragon|Ebon]] once again threw something, and once again did nothing. This time, however, she did not fly away.

The next thing coming at the poor, battered Terrestrial was [[Duricorre]]'s Fist. This lead, of course, to bits of the Commander's legs being left in Rover's mouth, and [[Sirokos]] finishing the rest of him off.

The Battle of You and What Army?

The party left [[The Penitent]] and found that a Wild Hunt was amassing in order to, well...hunt them. Since they knew of the nearby Free Hold, they decided to lead one army into the other. This worked quite well, and the two parties soon began fighting each other.

Despite the words of warning from [[Feyth]] that they might not be able to take on the combined armies of both the Fair Folk and the Wild Hunt, [[Sirokos]] vaulted into battle (like the bullheaded simpleton he is). He grabbed the lasso that had at one point been attached to Feyth, who was now (wisely) floating above the battle and waiting for a more...feasible time to join, and swung down into the middle of everything. [[Ebon Hand of the Dragon|Ebon]] chose to take a moment to loot the jewelry from the Raksha Chieftain...'s armor, but was apparently quite quick about it.

[[Sirokos]], being as crazy as he is, decided to use the momentum from his roll to catch a shield sitting on the ground and use its momentum to continue skidding across the ground and firing many, many times at BOTH armies. By charging wisdom through his conviction, the shots on the Wild Hunt proved devastating, destroying all of the army but a group of three Fire Aspects who employed charms to become immune to fire damage. His attack on the Fair Folk, however, was less effective. He did not completely obliterate the army. He only lit most of them on fire and caused all but the Raksha to run (or tumble) away. After this first attack, all that's left on the battlefield are the most powerful four opponents and many piles of smoking ash.

[[Ebon Hand of the Dragon|Ebon]] felt that the most prudent thing to do would be to pick up the Raksha Chieftain and begin strip-searching him for any and all jewels. She very much managed to pick him up and spent a few moments searching him.

Since he's insanely fast, Sirokos got to make another attack. He threw a handful of coins into the air to bank his shots off of, but they managed to dodge, so his attack proved innefectual.

Next up was [[Duricorre]], who took on all three of the Fire Aspects at once. The first Aspect had a rather blinding flame going, but the monk managed to punch through it with ease. So much ease, in fact, that the Dragon-Blooded's helmet flew forty feet in the air...propelled by the remains of the Dragon-Blooded himself. The second dodged his strike, but the third was not so lucky. He suffered a similar fate to the first.

The one remaining Fire Aspect was now confronted by [[Arisa]]. Her Inescapable Penetration was now aimed directly at the Aspect's chest. The lance went through the armor of the Aspect. And the clothing. And the flesh. And the clothing again. And the armor once more. That said, it went all the way through and the Aspect died an agonizingly penetrative death. Meanwhile, [[The Mountain That Devours|Rover]] moved underneath Ebon in order to open his maw for the awaiting treat.

[[Feyth]] took the opportunity to activate Demon-Wracking Glory and began cruising around the desert taking out the fleeing Fair Folk like a floating lawnmower of doom.

Unfortunately, the Raksha took the opportunity to climb on Ebon's back to avoid death in the form of toothy maw.

However, thanks to Ebon's skillful flying, he still ended up in Rover's maw, and the giant Tyrant Lizard devoured the final remaining opponent.

Feyth (fay-th) is, or...was at least, a politician. He had gotten into politics in an attempt to help change things for the better in his hometown, the City of Salt-Founded Glory. However, he soon found that bureaucracy is plagued by many problems such as corruption, red-tape, inefficiency...and last but -definitely- not least, stifling boredom. After an attempt to liven up the town by bringing in a performing troupe was quashed thanks to there being "no room in the budget for such frivolity, and besides there's no point taking up the valuable time of the senate when there are far more important matters to discuss". Now, this made Feyth curious as to what exactly was more important than making the town so interesting. Apparently, it was vital that a decision be reached on whether they should hold the meeting to decide if the government buildings should be repainted this week or next week.

'''Bridges Burned'''

This was, sadly, the last straw. Feyth decided that the best way to effect change was to change things himself. First up, of course, was to fix this silly debate about repainting the buildings. Of course, being fed up with all the inefficiencies and red tape of the normal bureaucratic process, he sought the fastest end to this problem he could think of. Feyth decided the best way to end the stagnation of the bureaucracy would be to burn down all of the government buildings in town. Much to his surprise, this caused him to Exalt as a member of the Eclipse caste. It was rather fortuitous for him, however, as his newfound powers allowed him to convince the many eyewitnesses of a few important points:
*No, he had not just burned down any of those buildings. In fact, he had been nowhere near any of them at the time.
*It must have been a freak and oddly-specific lightning storm.
*While Feyth was leaving town, it was not because of any sort of guilt related to any sort of arson. It was simply because, being a government official, he was now out of a job thanks to the previously-established choosy lightning.

== The Beginnings of a Circle ==
As he was leaving his hometown, Feyth was in awe of his newfound powers. After all, if he could convince a crowd of angry people that he had not just burned down half their town, what else could he do? After a few days of travel, he found inspiration in the city of Gem. Or, to be more specific, the dormant volcano that housed Gem.

Feyth made up his mind and entered town, learning a few things about the local fire elementals from the townspeople, and proceeded to track down these elementals in the hopes of talking them into stirring things up. Really, the volcano had been dormant for far too long and besides...it was their own fault for building a city in a volcano. Unfortunately, he wasn't as stealthy about his plans as he'd hoped to be, and he soon found himself accosted by a group of rightly concerned townspeople. Thankfully, though, rescue came in the form of [[The Mountain That Devours|an enormous lizard]] and his tamer, [[Arisa]]. Thankfully, Arisa was able to convince Rover not to devour him, and Feyth found himself with a new companion, and another reason to leave town.

Feyth (fay-th) is, or...was at least, a politician. He had gotten into politics in an attempt to help change things for the better in his hometown, the City of Salt-Founded Glory. However, he soon found that bureaucracy is plagued by many problems such as corruption, red-tape, inefficiency...and last but -definitely- not least, stifling boredom. After an attempt to liven up the town by bringing in a performing troupe was quashed thanks to there being "no room in the budget for such frivolity, and besides there's no point taking up the valuable time of the senate when there are far more important matters to discuss". Now, this made Feyth curious as to what exactly was more important than making the town so interesting. Apparently, it was vital that a decision be reached on whether they should hold the meeting to decide if the government buildings should be repainted this week or next week.

This was, sadly, the last straw. Feyth decided that the best way to effect change was to change things himself. First up, of course, was to fix this silly debate about repainting the buildings. Of course, being fed up with all the inefficiencies and red tape of the normal bureaucratic process, he sought the fastest end to this problem he could think of. Feyth decided the best way to end the stagnation of the bureaucracy would be to burn down all of the government buildings in town. Much to his surprise, this caused him to Exalt as a member of the Eclipse caste. It was rather fortuitous for him, however, as his newfound powers allowed him to convince the many eyewitnesses of a few important points:
*No, he had not just burned down any of those buildings. In fact, he had been nowhere near any of them at the time.
*It must have been a freak and oddly-specific lightning storm.
*While Feyth was leaving town, it was not because of any sort of guilt related to any sort of arson. It was simply because, being a government official, he was now out of a job thanks to the previously-established choosy lightning.

== The Beginnings of a Circle ==
As he was leaving his hometown, Feyth was in awe of his newfound powers. After all, if he could convince a crowd of angry people that he had not just burned down half their town, what else could he do? After a few days of travel, he found inspiration in the city of Gem. Or, to be more specific, the dormant volcano that housed Gem.

Feyth made up his mind and entered town, learning a few things about the local fire elementals from the townspeople, and proceeded to track down these elementals in the hopes of talking them into stirring things up. Really, the volcano had been dormant for far too long and besides...it was their own fault for building a city in a volcano. Unfortunately, he wasn't as stealthy about his plans as he'd hoped to be, and he soon found himself accosted by a group of rightly concerned townspeople. Thankfully, though, rescue came in the form of [[The Mountain That Devours|an enormous lizard]] and his tamer, [[Arisa]]. Thankfully, Arisa was able to convince Rover not to devour him, and Feyth found himself with a new companion, and another reason to leave town.

== Gulliver's Ascent ==
The Circle began their journey together in the South, toward [[The Penitent]]. As they journeyed through The Lap, the presence of a [[The Mountain That Devours|Tyrant Lizard]] walking through the city accompanied by a group of what could only be Solar Exalts drew the attention of the local authority. While Rover's agile gait was enough to evade the mortal guardsmen, the Circle soon found themselves being followed by a group of Terrestrial Exalts. Thus began the [[Battle of the Bulge]].

With their enemies either dispatched, half-buried, or punched entirely off The Penitent, the Solars continued their climb up to the head of the giant statue. Once there, they did a rather cursory search for entrances to what they believed would be a hollow inside the statue. However, when their search revealed nothing, [[Feyth]] suggested a somewhat more direct approach. [[Sirokos]] and [[Duricorre]] took turns melting and punching, respectively, through one of the eyes of the great monk, and after three days of this 'excavation', were able to breach the inner rooms.

What the Circle found within was intriguing. Apparently, someone or something used to live inside the head of The Penitent, and while no records but the dust of eons passing remained, one room seemed to be of great importance, and centrally located within the series of rooms. As the room appeared to be designed for meditation, Duricorre was selected to simply meditate in the room and see if there was a greater purpose behind its design. What Duricorre found was that the room allowed him to become aware of all the Geomancy for the South, including uncapped demesnes and Freeholds. More than that, however, it seemed the room gave him the ability to affect these things, to some degree. Knowing this knowledge was dangerous, Duricorre was conflicted on whether to reveal the information to the rest of his party.

The Penitent

The Penitent is a statue of a monk in the South. This statue is quite large, measuring at a good five miles in height, while sitting. The Penitent is significant not only for its size, but also for the city in its lap, aptly named Lap.

== Our Party's Involvement ==
Rumors abound, however, of something of value hidden away within the statue itself, and this is where our party came in. Feeling that these rumors likely were based at least somewhat in fact, our intrepid adventurers decided that they should scale The Penitent and try to find a way in. However, a [[The Mountain That Devours|Tyrant Lizard]] traipsing through town tends to attract some attention, and our party soon found themselves being accosted by a group of Terrestrial Exalts at about the statue's somewhat ample midsection. Thus ensued the [[Battle of the Bulge]].

Once again free to climb, the Circle made it to the head of the statue and, lacking any better means of entrance, made their own way in. [[Sirokos]] and [[Duricorre]] took turns fireblasting and punching, respectively, the midpoint of the statue's 300-yard-wide pupil. After three days and about 500 yard's worth of 'excavation', they broke through

Once within, a few interesting discoveries were made.
#There was a path to what should have been an actual entrance in the forehead of The Penitent, though since melted by less...determined adventurers.
#It seems that there was, at one time, one or more people (or things) living within the statue's head.
#While most anything left behind by the previous occupants had since decayed, a central meditation chamber seemed to be of importance.

== The Meditation Chamber ==
Most important of the discoveries was this. [[Duricorre]] was tasked with meditating in the room to attempt to discover its function. What he found was that the purpose of The Penitent seemed to be to keep track of all of the South's Geomancy. This included uncapped Demesnes, Freeholds, and the like. Of course, more important than that even was that The Penitent could, in some way, affect all of this. As of yet, Duricorre has not shared any of this information with the rest of the party.
