It also possesses a squadron of aging Z-95 Headhunters and six Y-Wing modern starships. The New Hope is mostly filled with medical supplies, medical bays, food transport bays, and a surprisingly large bar and casino. The accommodations are quite nice and it's the size of a small city that exists to travel around the galaxy dispensing what aid that it can to worlds in need.
Embittered by the Jedi Purge and hating the Mandalorians with as much fury as the Sith, Edward Avalon has much anger within him. == Background ==

Edward Avalon is a member of the Firrerreon race. When he was a young boy, an unnamed Jedi Master came to him and adopted him into the ways of the Sith. She proceeded to take him to the Jedi Enclave on Dantooine and there he learned the ways of the Force before becoming her apprentice in later life. He joined her in the Mandalorian Wars and helped protect the Republic from their threat as a Revanchist Jedi. Edward Avalon was the last apprentice of Darth Revan before she turned to the Dark Side of the Force and became Dark Lady of the Sith.

Edward, surprisingly, refused the call of his mentor and lover. Instead, Edward was taken by the Sith's torture droids and tormented until he was to break. Ironically, the young man was eventually able to escape on his own when Revan's fleets were destroyed by Malak in his bid to overthrow the Republic. Excommunicated from the Jedi Order because of his ties to Darth Revan, Edward Avalon's mind suffered severely from the stresses he endured as a Sith and he ended up being captured by the Mandalorians and enslaved. Edward learned much from his captors and eventually turned the tables on them, slaving them and escaping into the galaxy as a whole.

When Edward finally escaped, he found that the Jedi Order had been largely exterminated by the Sith and that Darth Revan had recanted of her evil before disappearing. Worse, the Galactic Republic had abandoned the war against the Sith and made thousands of worlds susceptible to its cruelties. Disillusioned, Edward took the Mandalorian battle techniques he's learned and signed up to become a mercenary and professional duelist. Leaving his past as a Jedi failure behind.
Worse, the Galactic Republic had abandoned the war against the Sith and made thousands of worlds subceptible to its cruelties.

Disillusioned, Edward took the Mandalorian battle techniques he's learned and signed up to become a mercenary and professional duelist. Leaving his past as a Jedi failure behind.

Studio Phantom
http://moviesmedia.ign.com/movies/image/article/574/574586/phantomoftheopera_rossumbutlerinline_1103591889.jpg

Appearance: Jack Deveroux is an extraordinarilly handsome man, as befitting his former leading man status. However, he must keep the left side of his face perpetually covered to disguise the nightmarish burns that cover it.

Jack also has a number of metallic devices built around his left leg to allow normal motion since it's twisted. Oddly, this results in him always crouching and seemingly in 'springing' poise' when he's not standing staight. It does not impede him in a fight since he's trained himself to avoid it.

Powers: The Studio Phantom has mastered light technology to be able to craft incredibly powerful protective force fields around himself and shoot energy blasts from his cane. He is also able to use his rings and belt to generate 'hard-light' constructs that appear as anything from dinosaurs to famous movie monsters. He is also capable of generating soft light illusions as well. Likewise, the Studio Phantom can create sound for these mindless creations. He is also a master fencer and boxer with a taste for the theatrical (ala Eroll Flynn).

The Silver Scream, ghost that she is, is not bound by the Studio Phantom's technological limitations as she is a creature of the supernatural. While they share a supernatural bond, the Phantom can call upon her powers to bring his creations to genuine physical life. At that point, he has no control over his creations as they become the characters they are.

History: Jack Deveroux was born to Freedomwood. A third generation actor, he got his start in the special effects business and stunt work. Jack was a brilliant engineer with an exceptional mastery of hard light holographics and how to produce effects that actors could play off of. A Renassiance man, his love of movies was always his chief guiding force and they were his obsession. Jack would spend most of his free time, when not exercising or working on a project, cloistered away in his private movie theatre in order to watch classic films produced in the Golden Age of Freedomwood.

Jack's career as a thesbian took off to soaring heights when he was selected to be the leading man in the popular television series Mark and Laurie: The New Adventures of the Centurion. It was during this time that Jack started to fall in love with his co-star, Wendy Mason. The two of them shared a fairy tale romance and were soon married just as the show finished wrapping up. It was then that Jack was approached by Constantine Urallos with a life-time contract offer. The only terms were that Jack also turn over his hard-light system for the studios use.

Jack readilly agreed and soon found himself in a number of important Mirrormax prodicutions. Things were continuing rather well until Jack started to notice that things were remarkably secretive around the use of his technology. Jack was repeatedly stone walled when he enquired about what the laboratories were using it and became outright insulted when they started moving him away from Freedomwood productions to less important roles because of it.

Jack finally deduced something was seriously wrong when the villainous Doctor Bright debuted with his new powers and managed to single handedly manhandle the entire Freedom League before making off with nearly a hundred million dollars in cash. Doctor Bright was wielding his technology and the only way that could have come was through Delphic Industries. Jack decided to break in then and find out what was really going on. Taking this as a personal insult; Constantine promptly had Jack gassed and then placed in his movie theatre before blowing the entire place up.

Jack's extra thick walls managed to protect him but buried him alive as he subsisted in the house's bomb shelter for the better part of a year until he crawled out into the studio. There, he found that his wife had remarried and Constantine Urallos had already declared his death the result of the man's poor technological care. Jack's anger and hatred were such that he physically assaulted Constantine's secretary and strangled her to death. This resulted in him attracting the attention of Freedomwood's resident ghost, the Silver Scream.

Jack communed with the Silver Scream for some time, living under his house and using his holographic generators (plus his mastery of makeup and acting talents) to steal in and out of the Delphic Studios whenever he wished. The twisted ghost fed on his anger and despair while he found his hatred nurtured by her own feelings of inadequacy and loss. The two thus have vowed to bring an end to Constantine Urallos and all those who work for him!

Neither realize that their respective lives are being manipulated by Loki back in Asgard.

Halt Evil Doer! is a Mutants and Masterminds campaign that is being run from the Gleemax Forums on the www.wizards.com site. It is a Play by Post campaign that emphasizes storytelling over dice rolling.

The campaign is set in the Freedomverse of the Mutants and Masterminds line and is meant to invoke a Silver Age mentality of unabashed heroism with only the occasional nod towards the fact that the setting is remarkably surreal by any stretch of the imagination.

Players are not required to possess the Mutants and Masterminds game line to play but are encouraged to, if they have the money and inclination, to pick up the Mutants and Masterminds main book and the Freedom City campaign book. Arguably, the second is more important than the first since this is where the majority of setting information will come from.

Appearance: Doctor Danger is a blonde, blue eyed, bronze skinned man with bulging muscles and a broad smile. He also wears a Safari uniform with a leopard print ascott without any sense of shame about it. While Doctor Danger is frozen at the age of 50 in time, he actually looks no older than mid thirties.

Powers: Doctor Danger is a normal human being. You know, minus his ridiculous intelligence that places him on the cutting edge of technology 50 years ahead of his time (so about ten years ahead of modern Freedomverse). Also, his Olympian in every imaginable field level skills. Yes, aside from that he's normal.

Oh and he regenerates nearly every wound, a side effect of his long frozen condition.

Personality: Ah the joys of being heroic and larger than life! There's nothing better than being Doctor John Washington Danger, the smartest man in the world (at least since Alexander Atom your ungrateful student died---he had a knockout wife though). If you thought Mark Leeds was a throwback, Doctor Danger is even worse. He's a straight out Pulp hero from the 1930s. Thankfully, it's difficult to be racist being Half-African himself ("My mother came from a very advanced black tribe in the hidden nation of Nestoria!")

History: Before there was a Centurion, there was DOCTOR DANGER! The Man of Brass! An accomplished clarinet player, WW1 fighter pilot, electrical engineer, brain surgeon, submarine captain, boxer, judo master, automobile mechanic, and occasional time traveler. The first man to walk on the Moon (To Battle SPACE NAZIS from Planet X!), the man who discovered the Lost World (to battle JUNGLE SAVAGES from not very advanced black tribes!), and who single handedly brought down the greatest super villain of them all (JOHN DILLINGER!).

With the Fabulous Six (plus Jenny Danger who doesn't count because she's a girl), Doctor Danger went on countless fantastic adventures and successfully established a reputation for heroism and nobility that would remain with the world for years.....and then he contracted syphilis (from a blood transfusion---honest!). Realizing that his life of crusading and nobility was in danger, he ventured down to his ARCTIC FORTRESS and froze himself in ice with a slow acting native formula that he super empowered with SCIENCE! Doctor Danger then set himself to be thawed out in the distant future of 2008!

Since then, Doctor Danger has decided to visit his lost descendants. Unfortunately, his son turned out to be not so hot and joined the Ratzis that Doctor Danger so long fought (becoming cursed with a Demon due to picking up an amulet from his father's lab), however its almost certain that his great grandchild Lucien will prove to be every bit the heir to his adventuring career that he desires him to be!

Motivation: Science! Adventure! Science! Adventure! Two fisted action! What more could a man want?

Players are encouraged to check out the Eberron campaign this board Shadows over Cyre and Forgotten_Freedom:Crew

Players are encouraged to check out the Eberron campaign this board Shadows over Cyre and Forgotten_Freedom:Crew

Players are encouraged to check out the Eberron campaign this board Shadows over Cyre and Forgotten_Freedom:Crew

The Gemstone Girls are not terrorists, per say, and never strike indiscriminate targets but they are not adverse to killing targets that are armed. The Gemstone Girls are, however, fundamentally loyal to Overshadow so long as he continues to pay the highest on the open market.
Diamond Dart is the sometimes lover of David Helman and Hell Rider.

A former cheerleader at Freedom City High School, Diamond Dart was infused with energy from the Terminus Invasion that gave her unimaginable agility and the power to regenerate nearly any wound. Kate Winston swiftly found made her a minor celebrity in her home town. Debuting as the super heroine Jewel, she grew bitter at the attention being shown the Freedom League and the harsh lifestyle.

Deciding to see how the other half lives, Diamond Dart became a mercenary for hire and formed the Gemstone Girls. She has no particular loyalty to Overshadow and actually has refused several missions from him (mostly having to do with mass murder). She still has some scruples and categorically refuses to harm the innocent.
Ruby Rays
Ruby Rays has a special relationship with Hellrider as well, specifically she's his half-sister (on the demon side). A warrior succubus summoned straight from the Inferno, Ruby Rays can summon forth brutal blasts of fire and and destructive force at will. Oddly, she rarely kills due to the fact that to send a good person to their death will only send them to Heaven. When faced with genuine scum, Ruby cuts loose.

Ruby has an especial hatred for her brother since he's destroyed her on several occasions. While their father has always sent her back, its fairly clear that the Half-Demon is much stronger than the full one.
Emerald Eyes is the only non-powered member of the Gemstone Girls and doesn't need it. A brutal assassin and martial artist, Emerald Eyes has the least problem with killing and has slain well over a hundred men with her bare hands. Emerald Eyes is the daughter of the merciless Doctor Sin and an IRA terrorist named Maggie O'Connel. Emerald Eyes is arguably the greatest martial artist currently alive in the Freedomverse.

It is curious why she travels with the Gemstone Girls and most suspect she simply enjoys their tendency to attract supernatural opponents.

A former agent of the Japanese government, Saphire Strike was attached to UNISON when she investigated a bomb explosion that tore her body to pieces. The bomb had actually been thrown by her own partner that felt she'd grown too close to the Labyrinth and its secrets. Sapphire Strike was rebuilt from the ground up as a cyborg that could generate glowing energy force fields around herself and release devastating concussion blasts.
Diamond Dart
Diamond Dart is the sometimes lover of David Helman and Hellrider.

A former cheerleader at Freedom City High School, Diamond Dart was infused with energy from the Terminus Invasion that gave her unimaginable agility and the power to regenerate nearly any wound. Kate Winston swiftly found made her a minor celebrity in her home town. Debuting as the superheroine Jewel, she grew bitter at the attention being shown the Freedom League and the harsh lifestyle.

Emerald Eyes
Emerald Eyes is the only non-powered member of the Gemstone Girls and doesn't need it. A brutal assassin and martial artist, Emerald Eyes has the least problem with killing and has slain well over a hundred men with her bare hands. Emerald Eyes is the daughter of the merciless Doctor Sin and arguably the greatest martial artist currently alive in the Freedomverse.

It is curious why she travels with the Gemstone Girls and most suspect she simply enjoys their tendency to attract supernatural opponents.

Sapphire Strike
A former agent of the Japanese government, Saphire Strike was attached to UNISON when she investigated a bomb explosion that tore her body to pieces. The bomb had actually been thrown by her own partner that felt she'd grown too close to the Labyrinth and its secrets. Saphire Strike was rebuilt from the ground up as a cyborg that could generate glowing energy force fields around herself and release devastating concussion blasts.

Saphire Strike is a lesbian and in an on-again off-again relationship with Ruby Rays.

The Grue are a race of red-skinned humanoids, with some racial color variations, that dwell in the Alpha Centauri sector of the galaxy. They are a physically powerful race that are better known for their peculiar shape-changing abilities and communal mind. Moreso, the Grue are also known as one of the most numerous and conquest minded races in the cosmos.

Grue Physiology
Individual Grue are slightly stronger than regular human beings and about as powerful as a human athlete. These are the rank and file citizenry that make up the majority of their soldiery along with handling the day to day infiltration of worlds. They are called Drones.

Grue Drones can shape shift to appear as human beings or other races but cannot alter their form into non-humanoids.

One stage higher are Grue Metamorphs who are all psychically talented. These Grue use their powers to read the minds of subjects and can perfectly impersonate a person. Likewise, they also can also incapacitate people by draining their wisdom for a short period. Metamorphs can transform their appearance vastly and become animals or monsters.

The Grue Metamind is composed of the corpses of all Grue that have been recovered and merged into a gigantic planet-sized being. It's psychic powers are almost incomprehensibly vast and its will is able to reach across the universe. Likewise, it is nearly invulnerable to all attack. The Metamind is worshiped as a god by the lesser Grue.

Grue are able to sexually reproduce with most humanoid species. This method has proven one of the more effective methods of Grue infiltration as they take the DNA into their normally asexual reproduction methods and produce children able to pass for humans since birth. Unfortunately, these children are loyal to the Grue Metamind from birth (unless one of their parents was particularly 'special').

Grue Metamorphs are often scientifically or magically altered by the order of the Metamind in order to bestow upon them Super-Powers. These serve as the shock troopers of the race. These are known as Meta-Grue.

Grue Psychology
Grue History
The Grue were created by the Mythical Preservers in the same way that modern humans were. Taking a small proto-plasmic being and bestowing upon it intelligence. The Preservers attempted to create a society free of conflict and internal dissent. Unfortunately, the Grue were also created with little ability to deal with outsiders save in a hostile manner.

The Grue managed to eventually carve a bloody and brutal swath across several dozen species' home-worlds by the time of the early 19th century. This is when H.G. Wells recorded their first attempted excursion into this world. That sadly, for the Grue, failed as did another attempt at Grover's mill.

During the 1950s, The Grue attempted to infiltrate the world through a number of more surreal methods. They created harvesting centers chronicled in the movie Invasion of the Body Snatchers and later would try the pregnancy issue in a similarly documented case of the Midwich Cookoos.

In the 1970s through 1980s, the Grue have made a number of other half-hearted attempts to destroy humanity or co-opt us. Unfortunately, by this time, the Freedom League was fully functioning and managed to drive away the first full scale invasion force (this was actually but a small scout fleet).

The Grue, so far, are interested in Earth as a sort of scientific preserve more than they are as a source of resources or slaves.

Players are encouraged to check out the Eberron campaign this board Shadows over Cyre and Forgotten_Freedom:Crew

Powers: A Beta class Nova skilled at developing weaponry and armor. In addition to his 'Dullahan' Power Armor, he uses an array of powerful weapons and defenses based on objects of legend. Some of them:
*'Gungnir': A powerful positron rifle with targeting drones 'Hugin' and 'Munin'.
*'Caladbolg': An adjustable length force blade capable of cutting mountains.
*'Claíomh Solais': A lightsaber.
*'Aegis': A bulletproof shield capable of generating a powerful defensive screen.

Weaknesses: Almost all of Palatine's gear is power hungry and, do to Roland's inability to properly miniaturize a suitable power supply, leads to an unfortunate tendency to run out of power during extended battles against superhuman opponents.

Freedomwood is just beyond Hannover and its only recently that the rest of the city has started to catch up to the edges of Freedomwood's palatial estates and vast movie lots. The place was established in the year 1910 by playboy millionaire industrialist David Atrus the First, who wanted to spend the money he'd made capitalizing on Ford and Edison's advances to make motion pictures. For the most part, the early Freedomwood pictures were Westerns though gradually they started into increasingly more elaborate epics with silent pictures giving way to epics.

Freedomwood's biggest star during the 1930s was Lauren Hammond whom was Carmen the Banshee in the same way that Bela Lugosi was Dracula (with all that implies). While Boris Karloff and Lon Cheney were able to move onto other work, Carmen was unfortunately given increasingly lurid parts as she struggled to maintain her sex symbol status. In the end, as it became apparent that her recent work had made her a joke, Lauren took her own life and became something of a Freedomwood urban legend.

Modern Freedomwood is tremendously glitzy with theme parks just to the side of the studios like DelphicWorld (in the words of Homer Simpson "It's exactly as big and rich as Disneyworld and looks like it too.") and Roman Breweries Gardens. Massive Hannover Hills Boulevard housing are afforded to the extraordinarily affluent and life seems to be largely one big party. The closeness of FIT allows Freedomwood the first pick of new CGI artists and special effects men. Plus, a never ending stream of young actresses head down to Freedomwood to either become disillusioned or usually land small roles.

Freedomwood is slightly less sleazy than the real world's Hollywood. There's still a sense of artistic integrity in the land and the corporations, if not exactly generous, have some vague notion that their stars are human beings. Unfortunately, Science Fiction religions like The Pinnacle Path have their headquarters in Freedomwood and are attractive for worn out minds.
