Who were you before? Normal high schooler. Volleyball team captain. Good GPA. Boyfriend. Family, siblings, etc.

When did you change? What caused it? There was a... accident. An AI project my dad was working on utilized some prototype nanobots to fix me. It replaced a lot of my original body. Downloaded itself into my brain, too.

Who, outside of the team, is helping you understand your new body? Dr. Hitomi Takahashi, who was a coworker of Dad's and headed up the nanobots. Helps me figure out what they can and can't do.

Why don't you just try to hide yourself away? The AI project, the nanomachine project, they were going to help people. Like a lot of people. And now I'm all that's left of them. I don't use them, I'm throwing a lot of people's hard work down the drain.

Why do you care about the team? I don't think they're a split second from running away. Also they put up with my dumb jokes and don't try to make insightful comments about humor hiding the pain.

Where did you get your sanctuary? From James Thorn. It's now in Melissa's name, legally, because magic.

Why do you oppose your nemesis? Melissa does not want to become an inhuman monster preying on the innocent, thankyouverymuch.

Who, outside of the team, is crucial to defeating your nemesis? Dawn Rosebright, a classmate of Melissa's, who Ruthven thinks would make a lovely first-innocent-kill for Melissa. Ruthven has more motives than simply corrupting Melissa here.

Why does the team matter to you? Because by being around other superbeings Melissa's age, she can feel like maybe there's a way to be this powerful and yet remain human.
