Born to poor parents, Gabriel was sent to the clergy to work as a grounds keeper. But Gabriel would often venture off into the nearby town and engage in drunken debauchery and would frequently get into fights with fellow drunks. He suffered more than his share of blows to the head and soon his demeanor began to become more erratic and he was prone to sudden boughts of rage. Gabriel was soon thrown out of the church to fend for himself. While wandering the coast aimlessly he trip and fell and hit his head on a rock. He claimed to have received a vision from Grotesh to seek out those further inland who did not know of his name and convert those willing and smite those who would slander his name. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
With his place in the world found he ventured off to spread the word of Grotesh and to smash the non-believers.&lt;br /&gt;
