In Battle Club X, the players are a professional wrestlers, playing larger-than-life characters that travel all over the globe putting on simulated combat spectacles in front of hordes of rabid fans. They’ve just joined a brand new promotion called Battle Club X. This promotion is owned by Gil Pierce, son of legendary basketball player/owner billionaire. J.C. Pierce. This upstart company has made some definite waves in the wrestling business, which is currently dominated by the behemoth corporation, Wide World Wrestling. Characters need to put on the best show possible and give the fans the portrayals of violence that they crave.

Oh, and one more thing...THEY ALSO FIGHT CRIME!!!

While wrestling performances for championship titles may be the character’s primary goal, there are plenty of adventures and mysteries outside of the ring as well. Whenever and wherever there’s a need for a well-placed superkick or powerful bodyslam (and there always seems to be plenty of opportunities), the characters will be there to deliver it!

A new promotion barely a year old, Battle Club X has quickly become the second largest professional wrestling company in the world, although nowhere near the behemoth that is Wide World Wrestling.

The roots for the company began after Austin Norvell accepted the challenge of wrestling pundit Ryan Seltzer to stage a show in a 10,000 seat arena. Norvell worked closely with fellow members of the A-List and sold out a show in Atlanta which featured wrestlers from at least five different wrestling promotions.

Shortly after, Norvel and the other A-List wrestlers were contacted by Gil Pierce, son of legendary billionaire basketball player/owner J.C. Pierce. Pierce proposed forming their own company, Battle Club X, to produce a weekly program called Wednesday Night Warfare. The show debuted on the Gainer Network and has done well enough to earn a four year contract extension within the first 3 months.
'''BACKGROUND:''' La Valquiria Enmascarada hails from Parts Unknown (but assumed to be Parts Unknown somewhere in Mexico). She is famous in Mexico not only as a top luchadora in the AALL promotion, but for her activities outside the ring. She regularly helps the Mexican authorities and Interpol against criminal organizations around the world. And it is whispered that she assists more secretive organizations around the world, from intelligence agencies to the Vatican, in combatting more bizarre threats.

She joined BCX not only for the professional opportunities, but also because she believes the nortéamericanos are far too complacent about the shadowy dangers posed by things like chupacabras, Draculas, and evil visitors from beyond the stars. (Whether any or all of such things truly exist in the campaign setting is somewhat irrelevant. La Valquiria strongly believes all such things exist.)

At 6’2” she towers over most opponents, and is best known for her formidable strength, but combines that with surprising agility and crowd-pleasing high-flying action in the ring.

She never, ever, removes her mask for another person. Her Valkyrie persona is a gimmick, and she doesn’t wear the costume, cape, helmet, spear, etc. in public. But for the mask, she dresses like a normal (but particularly fashionable and stylish) young woman. The mask does create complications, however, as a beautiful 6’2” luchadora tends to draw attention, and anonymity is not an option. Thus, her “secret” agent activities tend to be “Flashily show up in the areas where the evildoers are active, thus drawing them out to attack her.” (Then either capture her and take her to the enemy headquarters or drop clues. If they just left her alone it’s unclear whether she’d ever make much progress, but so far that hasn’t been a problem….)

Most standard FAE character rules apply. Each character should start out with at least 3 aspects. The High Concept aspect has their wrestling gimmick represented in some way (i.e. High Flying Spot Monkey, Hardcore Rattlesnake, Oldest Ride in the Park-Longest Line Wooooh!) The Trouble aspect is a feud or some other problem. The last required aspect should be something important or interesting about the character. The 2 remaining aspects are developed during play and typically involve connections to other player characters.

The six approaches in FAE work well for Professional Wrestling Characters, and are: Careful, Clever, Flashy, Forceful, Quick, and Sneaky. One should be rated at +3, two at +2, two at +1 and one at +0. These six approaches are good ways to define how a character approaches wrestling when in the ring. For example, an expert technical wrestler might be Clever+3, Careful+2, Forceful+2, Quick+1, Sneaky+1, Flashy+0 while an out-an-out Brawler might be Forceful+3, Flashy+2, Sneaky+2, Clever+1, Quick+1, Careful+0.

Characters are also allowed up to three stunts before it costs refresh. One of them usually relates to their signature move.

[[Battle_Club_X: Background]] The background for Battle Club X is basically our world turned up to 11. ''We’re going to ignore this whole current viral situation, so think of the world as it was before.'' Characters have recently parted ways with wherever they were wrestling before to join Battle Club X (BCX). They are all founding members of a faction known as the A-List.

One thing about BCX and Gil Pierce that is a little different from the behemoth company is that your contracts allow you to wrestle in other promotions. We will be leaning heavily into that “other promotions” worldwide feel for this campaign.

Characters start off the campaign in Japan, getting ready to wrestle for the largest promotion there called Rising Sun Professional Wrestling (RSPW). Hopefully, some of the characters have wrestled there previously, and were part of a popular faction called the Gun Crew, but this will be the first time they are there as members of Battle Club X and the A-List.

''GM Note: If you haven’t been able to tell yet, I’m leaning heavily into the real world AEW and the Elite storylines. Think of the overall story as a combination of both the television broadcasts and the backstage internet programs like Being The Elite (BTE).''

This is a page for Battle Club X, a play-by-post game on rpg.net.

'''IN-RING STYLE:''' A classically trained wrestler, Deadlift could be best described as a technical brawler. Relying mostly on getting his opponent to the mat via bodyslam or clothesline, Deadlift then wears them down with elbow and leg drops before applying any number of grappling holds. With wrestlers that are bigger than him, he focuses on the knees or shoulders; with smaller wrestlers, the chest and back.

'''OUTSIDE THE RING:''' Deadlift is a company man through and through. He’s the first one out to meet and greet the fans outside the venue, who appreciate his obnoxious Frenchman gimmick despite his heel standing. He understands the fans are what makes him money.

'''BACKGROUND:''' Deadlift gravitated toward power lifting in high school where his remarkable strength was recruited by Saul “The Crippler” Aubois. Aubois was a retired wrestler who ran a wrestling school known as “The Pit” because it was in a below street level warehouse. He also had connections to the French Canadian mob and cigarette smuggling. Deadlift started working as an mob enforcer, but grew weary of carrying around large cases of cigarettes and beating up elderly shopkeepers late on their payments. The only way his organization would let him out is if he represented them in the ring.
APPEARANCE: Deadlift's physical appearance is that of a power lifter--very muscular (not ripped) but verging on the bulky side. His hair is buzzed and bleached blonde. This along with his general pudginess make his age hard to determine. Coming to the ring, he wears a traditional light blue satin hooded boxing robe, complete with a white fleur de lis pattern. His in-ring attire is extremely non-tradition, however, since he wears light blue satin karate-styled sweatpants (think Great Muta) with his footwear as white karate "five fingered" shoes (the kind where you can see the individual toes) with black accents. Completing his attire, he wears a fabric velcro weight training belt (good for hiding his gut) and his hands and elbows are taped in a traditional boxing style.

'''MOVES:''' Finishing Move [10+: Choose you or your opponent to gain +1 Audience] [7-9: CHOOSE ONE;--Force a win, gain + 1 Heat with opponent;--They look strong in defeat, opponent gains +1 Audience] [Botch;--You win by countout, disqualification, or interference, -1 Audience]
'''OTHER MOVES:''' Veteran Instincts [+ 1 Momentum when starting match]; Put Over, If showing vulnerability in ring, roll + Work [10+: Both gain +1 Audience] [7-9: Opponent chooses, one gains + 1 Audience, Other loses -1 Audience] [Botch: You lose -1 Audience, opponent resents pandering]

'''HEAT QUESTIONS:'''
Who am I keeping out of the spotlight? Troy Owens
Who is my protégé? OPEN
Who is undercutting me? The Yardie, definitely the Yardie. Deadlift is absolutely positive that guy stole his finishing move!!!
Who has no respect for all the work I’ve put into this company? The Yank, who doesn’t seem to respect anything just because he’s big and strong.

He and the rest of his team, known as the Wild Bunch, were sent on a suicide mission to confront the aliens on their crash-landed vessel in Marrakesh. As they were being slaughtered by the strange alien technology, Ruger discovered he could mentally control the microscopic nanotech robots the aliens were using. Using them to create cybernetic enhancements and a really big gun, Ruger was barely able to escape the craft. ===Powers: Alien Nanite Cybernetics===

Vulnerable to psychic feedback/takeover

'''Simple (+1):'''
*Stronger, faster and tougher than a normal human
*Acquire a target and fire away with really big gun

'''Difficult (+1):'''
*Create a new firearm if given proper base materials (i.e. metal, potassium nitrate, sulfur, etc.)
*Use nanites to heal own body

'''Borderline:'''
*Control nanites in other superhumans and alien warriors

'''Possible:'''
*Locate other nanites in use around the world

'''Impossible:'''
*Control any nanite mass more than double his own size

===Origin : The Accident===

Book opened when Ruger was attacked by an alien weapon meant to destroy him and found he could mentally control the nanites.

'''Changes:'''

*The accident changed me by...''allowing me to use the alien nanites to reconstruct my body.''
*The future effects on my body are still unknown but what could happen is...''I could be taken over by the nanites and turned into an alien warrior.''
*An enemy I made because of the accident is...''the aliens obviously, along with my previous employer, Foray International (which claims ownership to the nanites and the tech they represent).''

'''Looking for Answers:'''

When you look for answers to the questions you have about that fateful day in order to learn more about what happened or your feelings about it, ask a question about it and roll+Investigate. On a 10+, the EIC will give you a clear and detailed answer to your question and you take +1 forward to acting on the information. On a 7-9, the EIC will answer your question but the information may be confusing, alarming or suggest a hard choice.

'''Book available to open when:''' Elements of his past or backstory begin rearing their ugly head and disrupting his life for the worse.

'''Unopened Book Moves'''

''But He Deserved It:'' Whenever another character is trying to talk or be civil with someone and he interrupts them with an attack, take +1 forward.

Move available to open when: His love of violence and drive to fight makes an enemy of a friend.

''Checkered Past:'' When he encounters an enemy for the first time, he may detail the last time he saw them and the grudge between him. If he does, roll +Influence. On a 10+, choose one and say how he knows what he knows. On a 7-9, choose one, and the EIC chooses one for them as well. The EIC will ask him how they know what they know.

*He remembers a weakness or Advantage they have.
*He remembers the way or method they usually fight.
*He remembers what they care about or their motivation.

Move available to open when: Part of his everyday routine changes to looking for trouble, picking or fighting for fights.
== Filler Moth ==

'''From the Game:''' Batman: The Movie

Filler Moth was part of a game originally entitled Nomad: Desert Son, but a spiffy “hot” movie license caused the game to be changed and reskinned. Unfortunately, Armor-geddon, as he was initially known, was replaced and downgraded to “challenging lackey”. Even worse, he was renamed Killer Moth after some lame comic book villain (“Killer Moth? What kind of idiots write this stuff anyway?”) His chief role in his game now is to scare the bejesus out of any 8 Bit Batman that comes along. (“I knew that punk when he was just Nomad, some happy wandering fool in the post-apocalyptic desert!”) This is, like, just at the 3rd level! He does this by making a big show of firing up the jetpack on his imposing suit of armor, flying into the sky, launching an awesome unstoppable spread of projectiles...and then going down like a ton of bricks after taking just a couple of hits. This has earned him the unfortunate nickname “Filler Moth” (because he’s just “filling” space, hardeharhar!).

Filler Moth has decided that there must be more to his destiny than this fate, even if it lies outside his game, or even (gasp!) outside of villainy!

'''Coins:''' 5

'''Hearts:''' 3

'''Lives:''' 3

===Aspects:===

'''High Concept:''' Downgraded Boss in Power Armor

'''Trouble:''' Glass Jaw By Design

'''Aspect:''' Red Guitar Axe of Lost Love - Originally belonging to Marceline the Scream Queen from the game Metal Band, Filler Moth retrieved it from her dying hands in the sewers of Pipe Town. Back when he was still Armor-gedden, he and Marceline had a thing for each other, which he quickly dropped upon being changed to a humiliating lackey. He keeps the guitar not only as a tribute to his fallen love, but as a reminder that he doesn't have to be what everyone else, including himself, thinks.

'''Aspect:''' Zombie Hand - One of the most concerning aspects of the Glitch’s arrival for Filler Moth is the fact that his hand has decided to become undead for some mysterious reason. It’s not purple exactly…but it is certainly worrisome if it will spread.

'''Aspect:''' Double-barreled Plasma Jetpack from Hell - The most metal thing Filler Moth owns is the massive jetpack welded onto his power armor. He found it deep in the tunnels one day. Even though it might have been some kind of weapon, Filler Moth decided “Hey wouldn’t this be cool strapped onto my back!” He has no idea if its previous owners are looking for it or not. Of course, the fact that they kind of looks like "wings" on his back didn't help in the whole renaming thing either.

===Skills:===

Good (+3): Shoot

Fair (+2): Jump, Punch

Average (+1): Block, Fix, Taunt

===Special Moves:===

Unbeatable: Missile Spread (Shoot) – Create a “Duck and Cover!” Advantage on the Environment with 2 Free Invokes.

Unlock: Bitter Cynicism (Taunt) - Defend

Upgrade: Fire Up The Jets!!! (Jump) - Overcome +2 to move over obstacles
