*Description and Background:His name is Bishop. His family’s Egyptian but they’ve been living in London since the Blitz. Bishop went to school, did mediocre in grades, but his reflexes and height got into the RAF. After some , he became a go-to driver--he was socially invisible, polite, and could handle a vehicle. He drove politicians and VIP’s around the streets of London for four years, eventually becoming a favored driver for a member of the House of Lords.

Whatever he was into, Bishop didn’t ask, but he knew it wasn’t normal politician stuff. One night he was driving the boss home from some deal in the middle of nowhere, Scotland. Two days later, the old man was dead, and Bishop fainted in a tea house. Waking up, he found out he had a tumor the size of a walnut that wasn’t there at the last health check and six months to live.

Some representatives came to him in the hospital, gave him some pills, a new ID and nationality, and a job. Bishop is severely hoping that he’s a good man doing bad things for good reasons.
**Englishman in New York: Bishop has an obvious English accent, is Egyptian decent, and is frankly a bit on the short side. Invoke to seem mysterious or unique, drive on the wrong side of the road, or to get people to like the way I say “Aluminium”. Compel to stick out like a sore thumb or be memorable, draw the attention of close-minded nativists, or make him feel away from home.

**Sex on Wheels: Bishop naturally operates vehicles like he’s got a personal soundtrack, but it’s the fact that he does his homework that really makes him a professional transport. He practices routs, reads road almanacs to go to sleep, and can wax about how the use of smartphones has altered traffic flows. Invoke to remain cool under a running gun battle at 80mph, know a back route during rush hour, or be able to talk shop about cars. Compel to require a good evening of planning routes and researching, causing more troubles during a car chase (“yes, this does require us going through a farmer’s market”), or D-Train and the other FAst and Furious crowd causing grief.

**The Good Soldier: Bishop has been trained by both the military and the whims of the rich and powerful. He’s reliable, precise, and pays attention, and yes he does know how you like your coffee. Invoke to do grunt work fast and smart, make sure orders are followed, and be calm when someone shoves a gun in his face. Compel to piss off somebody with his tight-ass demeanor, interfere with his ability to flirt, or make sure that he sticks to the plan.
*1 Neura-Surge: Your body is threaded with an augmented nervous system. When activated, the neura-surge system sends your mind and body into overdrive, allowing you to move and process information so quickly that the world around you appears to slow down. Activating this Augmentation is an Instant Action, and may even be used to interrupt another character’s turn. Once activated, you may immediately perform a Simple Action. You may not activate this Augmentation more than once per turn. The neura-surge stresses the muscles and nervous system of the body to their physical limits. As such, you must perform an Endurance test to activate this Augmentation. If you fail, the neura-surge activates, but you suffer an amount of physical stress equal to the amount by which you failed. The activation difficulty is increased by +1 for each subsequent use of this Augmentation in the same scene. Activation Time: Instant. Action Difficulty: 4. Duration: Turn.
*2 Performance Enhanced. Your Endurance is increased by 1.
*3 Gills. Your neck sports a set of concealed fish- like gills. You are now capable of drawing oxygen out of water filtered through your gills. You can still breathe air as well. You are asking yourself why the fuck the Foundation gave you gills. It's in case you need to crash a vehicle into the water.
Bishop hasn't exactly done anything terrible in his past (at least, nothing that a solider/pilot/occasional bodyguard/help would be too ashamed of), but he's instead the guy that's always been around the people that are doing the terrible secret things. He's been smart enough to realize just how bad of a situation he's in, and still keep his head in a number of situations. This brought him to the attention of the Polysemous.

== Game Information ==

This game is a hexcrawl using Rogue Trader rules for a futuristic space exploration sandbox. So you have a spaceship, and an incomplete map of a region of space, what you do at that point is up to you. The region of space would be along the border of the Imperium somewhere, so the key themes would be:

*'''Exploration''': The majority of the star chart you start with would be uncharted space. So you'd be traveling to star systems that are completely unknown and potentailly alien. You might run into xenos or maybe other humans that left Imperial space to avoid the will of the Emperor.
*'''Resource Discovery and Exploitation''': Imagine flying into a system to discover one of the planets has a massive supply of the metal that's used to craft starships. You have to figure out how to extract the ore and transport it back to Imperial space so you can profit from setting up a supply chain. Or use that ore to trade with inhabitants of the unknown region instead?
*'''Xenos and Chaos''': It's the unknown regions, I guarantee there will be xenos and chaos in some form. Especially when you venture further and further from Imperial space.
*'''Fleet Command''': Eventually you'll be able to command a fleet of starships. Send them off on different missions. Uh oh...your shiny new cruiser was just hijacked by Dark Eldar.
*'''Resource Management''': Hmmm...profits are down this month but all the paperwork says they should be up. Time to make some upkeep tests....ugh we can't afford to pay the lease on that mining equipment...
*'''Hazards and Wonders''': You'll be exploring regions of space that mankind hasn't seen yet. Who knows what awaits. Perhaps some ancient civilizaton awaits. Perhaps a necron tomb is on that next planet with it's millions of warriors in stasis. Warp storms and all kinds of fun things await.
*'''Lawless Lands''': The Unknown Regions are beyond that of Imperial space, people out here don't follow the same rules that an Imperial citizen would.
''There is no luck, only the Emperor's will''.
-Marlowe Dynasty Motto

When the dynasty began, the Marlowe were only a small fleet of chartist ships brought together by dynasty founder Regias Marlowe to act as merchant transports in a lowly corner of the Calixis Sector. They continued this way for centuries, only growing slightly as each patriarch of the family refused to join the growing Tellurian Combine, wanting to stay independent, even if not particularly prosperous.

Noticing the family's very pointed stance of refusal, when agents of the Inquisition began to dismantle the cult behind the Combine, intrigues were put into place to force open conflict between them. Gathering all their ships to repel the blockade of one of their major mining planets, the Marlowes managed to barely defeat the combine fleet, taking the former flagship, a well-appointed Heavy Cruiser, as their own and renaming it Throne's Providence.

When Throne's Providence and the other remains of ships were searched and salvaged, the heretical nature of their former occupants was thrust into the open, much to the Inquisition's chagrin. Local Ecclesiarchs were "encouraged" to lend their support for the granting of a Warrant of Trade, and the newly born Dynasty was calmly pointed in the direction of unexplored space.

A few generations later finds the Marlowe dynasty very quickly becoming a subtle, if successful force for commerce in the Koronus Expanse. Recently, extensive needed repairs from an unfortunate warp translation accident has rendered the dynasty flagship planet-bound. While her father sits at the family seat of power in the Calixis Sector, Lucretia Marlowe has been given their next-best ship, and a mandate to explore previously uncharted areas for opportunities, lest the dynasty's fortunes calcify around their old merchant trade routes.

'''Mordakai Jailo Sputzarzi Czkahn of House'''

The House Czkahn (an offshoot of the Cassini Lineage) has been a Nomadic house since before the Horus Heresy, with legends claiming ties to pre-Imperial Terran governments. A proud house of good reputation in the Navis, they nonetheless fell onto hard times five generations ago when a duel with Harkonna Chorda was lost, leaving the family destitute...by Navigator standards, at least. Having lost routes and wealth, they were forced deeper into the Kronus expanse. The family was scattered moreso than ever, and families were essentially forced into ships to keep their status and income.

Mordakai is the heir apparent for the Czkahn House, although that does mean he has a few centuries until Grandfather Sckelsi is expected to die. He and his sub-clan have been tied to the ship. Technically this is exactly what Mordakai would want to do--explore the uncharted reaches--but the fact that he has to do it grates. his main goal at this point is to find a way to fill the House Coffers, and possibly get enough to send a few assassins to take out a few Chorda bastards.

'''Presence''' Mordakai is a thin, gaunt man with chalk-white skin, a bald head, and a massive red beard. His eyes are normally covered by thick dark goggles, his third eye covered by a simple cloth. He wears massive robes in the family colors of dark green and beige. He appears to be gruff and mean, but it's out of understanding that he makes normals uncomfortable by his presence.
Paranoia

Traits
Charmed: The void born are touched by the fickle powers
of the warp, making them preternaturally lucky. Whenever a
void born character spends a Fate Point (though not if he burns
one), roll a 1d10. On the roll of a natural 9, the Fate Point is
not lost.

Ill-omened: Whether because of their strange looks,
clannish ways, or unwholesome air, the void born are shunned
and mistrusted by most. In addition, the void born are most
likely to attract any negative attention that the party of Explorers
creates—accusations of deceit in trade, disgruntled negotiators,
mobs armed with stones, and so on. Because of this, void born
characters suffer a –5 penalty on all Fellowship Tests made to
interact with non-void born humans.

Shipwise: Birthed in the depths of a voidfaring craft,
the void born have a natural affinity for such vehicles. As a
result, Navigation (Stellar) (Int) and Pilot (Spacecraft) (Ag) are
untrained Basic Skills (instead of Advanced Skills) for void
born characters.

Void Accustomed: Due to their strange and unnatural
childhood, the void born are used to the vagaries of changing
gravity. They are immune to space travel sickness. In addition,
zero- or low-gravity environments are not considered Difficult
Terrain for void born characters.

Lore of the Wanderer: The Navigator has an ingrained
affinity with passage between distant and uncharted stars and
gains the Talented (Navigation (Warp)) Talent.

A Taste for the Warp: Living in constant contact with the
veil between real space and the warp, the Navigator can read
it like few others. The Navigator can spend a Fate Point to
automatically succeed in using a Navigator power; if degrees of
success are relevant to the effects of the power, he will succeed
by 1d5 degrees of success with 5 counting as 0 degrees of
success.

Scorn of Dirt Dwellers: Those that have roamed the void for
so long feel uncomfortable in the cultures of dirt dwellers and
usually cannot wait to return to space. Whenever the Navigator
is on a planetary body and must deal with locals he suffers a
–10 to all Fellowship tests and skills based on Fellowship.

Navigator Mutation
99 - Unnatural Presence: In your presence living things feel strange unpleasant sensations, a cloying touch to their
skin, a keening whine in their ears and a metallic tang in their mouth. All your tests that involve positive social
interaction are at –10, whilst all those that involve intimidation or inducing fear are at +10.

Navigator Power

The Lidless Stare
If a Navigator opens his warp eye fully, anyone gazing into
its depths will witness the power and mind breaking unreality
of the warp. In an instant, they witness the chaos boiling
beneath the skin of existence and for many, it is the last thing
they ever see.

Novice: The Navigator makes an Opposed Willpower Test
with anyone looking into his Warp Eye. Make a single test
for the Navigator and compare it to the results of each of his
opponents. If the Navigator achieves more degrees of success,
the opponent suffers 1d10+ the Navigator’s Willpower bonus
in Energy damage. This damage is not reduced by armour or
Toughness Bonus. Anyone taking damage from this power
is also Stunned for 1 round as they are ripped with agony.
Using this power is taxing and inflicts a level of Fatigue on
the Navigator. If the Navigator fails this Test by one degree of
failure or more, he suffers two levels of Fatigue.

Tracks in the Stars
When a ship travels though either real space or the warp it
leaves a faint trail, the lingering shadow of its warp drive.
Using his third eye, the Navigator can follow this trail across
the stars.

Novice: Using Perception, the Navigator can track the warp
trail of a ship through real space in the same way as if he was
using the Tracking skill (see page 88). To track a warp trail,
it can be no older than the Navigator’s Perception Bonus in
weeks, although the size and power of the vessel involved
may mitigate this.

Stacking The Deck
Navigators, by their training, are taught the basics of starship
naval combat. Navigators are also able to perceive flickering
shadows of possible future events. By peering into the streams
of time and space and studying the currents and eddies of the
warp, the Navigator can attempt to position his vessel for a
more optimum firing solution, angle it such a way that the
ship’s armour is able to better deflect an incoming attack, or
even point the ship in the best direction for a tactical retreat.

Novice: The Navigator makes a Difficult (–10) Perception
Test. If the Test succeeds, he may add his Intelligence Bonus
x5 to any Manoeuvre Action or single Ballistic Skill Test to
fire the starship’s guns.
