She was a bouncer for a triad underground gambling house, a bit dim, but able and willing to break a man over her knee with a smile. She was eventually even trusted to watch over the bosses sister a brilliant artist and musician suffering from voices and visions and memory/identity problems. Things did not work out. The young mistress awoke* as a Warmain and started breaking things. Like the island they lived on, her sister, the international economy. Her madness and maybe her regret or some faint recognition of her caretaker, were just enough to let the newly enNobled Meiling to bind her and control her rage a little, sort of.&lt;br /&gt;

&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;When humanity was young, the Garden was green, and The Light and The Dark were but a distant consequence on the horizon, there was once one who stood above. Adam and Eve sacrificed and prayed to this one and feared him. Some have speculated he was Cneph, maker of all worlds, and that humanity was a special project of his. Others believe a True God of Earth set up the garden and its tantalizing fruit. Others say it was one god, a God of Humanity, who became just as broken by the Fall of Man as they were.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;This hypothetical god of the garden tore himself in half as the first Magisters of the Dark and the Light were born. Humanity had thrown there future into chaos, had divided themselves against their own well being. What they loved, they smothered. What they hated, they were addicted to. The intoxicating totality of humanity&#039;s fall dragged down that primordial deity until he too was one with The Light and The Dark.&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;Lord Hourmazd arose as one of the first voices among The Light. While other Magisters tended to humanity in a hundred different imitations of the Garden, keeping their own pets to themselves as they worked on the perfect strain of humanity to survive. It was Hourmazd who freed mankind&#039;s creeds to mix and intertwine, and it was Hourmazd who united The Light into a single force to stand against the depredations of The Dark. He would need to, his own shadow was doing the same for the opposing side.&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;Lord Az is much like his twin of The Light. They both appear as tall, bearded, powerful and wise men (when they choose to) who seemed wrapped in an aura of light (or darkness in Az&#039;s case). Like Hourmazd, the Dark Lord made speeches and entreaties, and eventually united the various squabbling Magisters of Darkness into a single unified army dedicated to bringing humanity down one suicide at a time. Az now considers himself the ultimate architect of mankind&#039;s downfall. He is the Lord of Earth, Water, Fear, Madness, Mathematics, and Cacophony.&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;The two brothers have attempted, over thousands of years, to use the forces of The Light and the The Dark against each other, as if there war was personal. They are often considered the poster-children for their Songs, the most vociferous and trustworthy within their circles. Those interested in furthering their knowledge of The Light are encouraged to seek out Hourmazd in his mountain-top palace. Those interested in falling deeper into The Dark will be keen to know Az is always with them, as the Fear at the heart of all mankind.&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;Hourmazd is a creature of strict ethical conduct and philosophy. He is reasonable and logical, a master orator and speaker who has a deep understanding of the world on a cosmic level. Unfortunately his is fundamentally flawed in his emotional core. He is soulless and heartless, and empty shell of a god, doing what others call right and good simply because it is all that he knows, all that he has left. He does not care for humanity, he is their caretaker. He does not hate The Dark, he simply opposes it in all things. He deals with everything with a profound detachment that many have mistaken for wisdom. It is in truth indifference. One human is much the same to any other to Hourmazd. Even among his Nobles he sometimes has difficulty telling them apart.&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;He is lonely though. Empty as he is, inattentive and without compassion as he is, Hourmazd feels even emptier without people to talk to. He enjoys discussing things, debating philosophy, reading and writing as well as meditating and praying. He enjoys group activities. He is, unfortunately, a sore loser.&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

Nehutu is an ancient fortification, one of the first Chancels upon the Earth. Built on and from a massive mountainside, Nehutu was once one of the more populous Mesopotamian city-states before Hourmazd snatched the mountain, it&#039;s city and it&#039;s people for his wars against The Dark and his dream of human perfection. Since then the city has been run by the Magister as an extension of his philosophy. People there meditate in silence, train themselves in protecting others and strive to master the fire in their hearts and the breath that animates their bodies, their minds and their words.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
As a city that has been lived in for eight thousand years, the city has grown and expanded upon itself many times. The peak of the mountain remains nearly untouched, a single temple-palace crafted to house and protect Hourmazd&#039;s physical form as he battles the new enemy, the Excrucians, in the Spirit World. Before then he would simply meditate here, keeping it pristine and silent. A few miles down, the city begins wit the highest temples, monasteries, the palaces of the Nobility and their highest ranking subordinates, the libraries, the universities and the Loathesome Armory, where Creation&#039;s worst weaponry is housed. The only sound permitted in this area is the soft music of the bells, wind-chimes and natural gas vents within the mountain rock. Everything else is quiet contemplation.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Further down, the houses of the residents grow more numerous and less glamorous. Most are carved from the stone of the mountain itself, built into caves and mines that have long turned into amphitheaters, factories and laboratories. Here, things are noisier, as the hustle and bustle of everyday life begins to conflict with the spiritual silence of those who dwell higher. Soldiers police to ancient steps leading upwards and people live as they have for centuries, with the addition of the best amenities the modern Prosaic reality has to offer.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Near the foot of the mountain is the clamorous market-places, shops, housing tenements, courthouses, office structures, the guard-posts and barracks and loudest of all, the Nehutu International Airport, which supplies flights all across the world and to any other Chancel with airports. Here things are a bit less modern, the luxuries of modernity tossed aside for the practicality and reliability of what works, and has always worked. Most people are laborers, farmers, soldiers and the like. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Beyond the massive Ishtar Gate that leads through the ancient, battle-tested walls of the city, lie a untamed and wild forest named Kharsu Darisam. Here animals and odd humans stumble in through a handful of the most remote and untouched wild areas left on Earth. This, and mistaken flights and transfers that end up at Nehutu Airport, are the primary ways Hourmazd acquires &amp;quot;unexpected&amp;quot; visitors.&lt;/div&gt;</summary>

When humanity was young, the Garden was green, and The Light and The Dark were but a distant consequence on the horizon, there was once one who stood above. Adam and Eve sacrificed and prayed to this one and feared him. Some have speculated he was Cneph, maker of all worlds, and that humanity was a special project of his. Others believe a True God of Earth set up the garden and its tantalizing fruit. Others say it was one god, a God of Humanity, who became just as broken by the Fall of Man as they were.&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
This hypothetical god of the garden tore himself in half as the first Magisters of the Dark and the Light were born. Humanity had thrown there future into chaos, had divided themselves against their own well being. What they loved, they smothered. What they hated, they were addicted to. The intoxicating totality of humanity&#039;s fall dragged down that primordial deity until he too was one with The Light and The Dark.&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Lord Hourmazd arose as one of the first voices among The Light. While other Magisters tended to humanity in a hundred different imitations of the Garden, keeping their own pets to themselves as they worked on the perfect strain of humanity to survive. It was Hourmazd who freed mankind&#039;s creeds to mix and intertwine, and it was Hourmazd who united The Light into a single force to stand against the depredations of The Dark. He would need to, his own shadow was doing the same for the opposing side.&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Lord Az is much like his twin of The Light. They both appear as tall, bearded, powerful and wise men (when they choose to) who seemed wrapped in an aura of light (or darkness in Az&#039;s case). Like Hourmazd, the Dark Lord made speeches and entreaties, and eventually united the various squabbling Magisters of Darkness into a single unified army dedicated to bringing humanity down one suicide at a time. Az now considers himself the ultimate architect of mankind&#039;s downfall. He is the Lord of Earth, Water, Fear, Madness, Mathematics, and Cacophony.&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The two brothers have attempted, over thousands of years, to use the forces of The Light and the The Dark against each other, as if there war was personal. They are often considered the poster-children for their Songs, the most vociferous and trustworthy within their circles. Those interested in furthering their knowledge of The Light are encouraged to seek out Hourmazd in his mountain-top palace. Those interested in falling deeper into The Dark will be keen to know Az is always with them, as the Fear at the heart of all mankind.&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Hourmazd is a creature of strict ethical conduct and philosophy. He is reasonable and logical, a master orator and speaker who has a deep understanding of the world on a cosmic level. Unfortunately his is fundamentally flawed in his emotional core. He is soulless and heartless, and empty shell of a god, doing what others call right and good simply because it is all that he knows, all that he has left. He does not care for humanity, he is their caretaker. He does not hate The Dark, he simply opposes it in all things. He deals with everything with a profound detachment that many have mistaken for wisdom. It is in truth indifference. One human is much the same to any other to Hourmazd. Even among his Nobles he sometimes has difficulty telling them apart.&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
He is lonely though. Empty as he is, inattentive and without compassion as he is, Hourmazd feels even emptier without people to talk to. He enjoys discussing things, debating philosophy, reading and writing as well as meditating and praying. He enjoys group activities. He is, unfortunately, a sore loser.&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
