The Dominion Rules system was a freely available system, but it required that all content created for the system use the Dominion Rulese license uniformly. That is, sections of a work could not be licensed one way, and others another. That makes supporting it in a wiki enviornment virtually impossible. Sadly, the Domain Name http://www.dominiongames.com appears to have expired and is pending renewal or deletion by Network Solutions, making retreval of existing content impossible as well.
Circe is a classless role playing game system, that has been released under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License. It is not complete, however what rules exist have been posted at http://www.worldforge.org/dev/content/rules/circe/. Anyone currently or in the past has Game Mastered for this system, is welcome to volunteer to maintain Wisrtum ports to this system. We'd love to support it &mdash; but we need you.
The Dominion Rules System was a classless, d12 based system. It was best described as rules medium, and focused on subduing an opponent rather than killing him outright. The Dominion Rules system was a freely available system, but it required that all content created for the system use the Dominion Rulese license uniformly. That is, sections of a work could not be licensed one way, and others another. That makes supporting it in a wiki enviornment virtually impossible. Sadly, http://www.dominiongames.com appears to have expired and is pending renewal or deletion by Network Solutions, making retreval of existing content impossible as well.

If your system isn't listed on the Supported and Unsupported Systems page then perhaps we don't know about it. Some systems cannot be supported, no matter how much we may wish to do so, because of the terms they are released under. The Dominion Rules are a good example of a system in this latter cagegory.
* Please do not post content from published material. Simply cite the content by the name of the work and the page number.
* If the content is a minor variation of published content, cite the published content and explain the variations on the wiki. * If the article refers to fan based material please link to it without re-posting, simply cite. It would be best if you could provide a hyperlink to the fan-based content.
* Remember to add all GURPS content to the GURPS category, as well as the Wisrtum category.
* If a situation arises which is not covered, feel free to ask on the relevant talk-pages for assistance.

Sages are devided as to weather or not they are a natural part of the world's ecology. A small number of sages have been lucky enough observe these creatures in the wild. A much smaller number still have been able to capture and experiment upon them. Majority opinion at this time is that they are a natural part of the ecology.<p />
Historically, the sage Herestius, seems to be the loudest detractor from this option. He was able to vivisect several specimens. What survives of his writings suggest that these creatures are the product of overzealous experimentation with Transmutation magic. Unfortunately, authentic copies of his lab journals survive, and almost none have been able to reproduce his fortune of capturing live specimens. Therefore to some at least, the mystery of the Chupacabra is an open one.

CHUPACABRA
Description
Chupacabra's are diminutive, and have a pale grey-green complected body-surface: of what appears to be something between hide and scale. They stand about four-feet tall, have small bulbous black eyes and teeth. At a on windy nights, Chupacabras have been known will let out an unnerving, distorted screech that carries upon the wind. It is not known if this is intended to jostle the intended pray to, or serve a basic function such as a mating call.

History
The first accepted instance of a Chipacabra infestation of a farm community occured about 25,000 years ago. They have become more of a problem over time. However, they appear to stick to warmer climets. As such, areas with longer winters tend not to have the problems with infestation that other areas do. Few have ever been found in desert areas, this is probably due to a lack of a sustainable food-source more than anything.

Ecology
The exact nature of the Chupacabra is a mystery. Sages are devided as to weather or not they are a natural part of the world's ecology. A small number of sages have been lucky enough observe these creatures in the wild. A much smaller number still have been able to capture and experiment upon them. Majority opinion at this time is that they are a natural part of the ecology.

What little is known of the Chupacabra ecology is this follows. The Chupacabra have two sexes, and are nocturnal creatures. No young have ever been observed, so almost nothing is known of way in which they develop. It is known that they find the light of day to be painful, and possibly blinding. They are most notorious for their tendency to congregate near agricultural towns and feed on the local livestock. They often feed alone, but sometimes they will do so in packs of three or four. Not surprisingly: this "goat-sucker" is often be attributed to the death of various live-stock, and are incredibly difficult to rout-out and kill.

Venkh Orcs are most often a shade of pale forest-green. A few, however, are born with ashen-colored skin, which is belived to be a sign that the Orc in question has been touched by the clan totem-spirit. Orc hair is typically thin, wiry, and jet-black, even in old Orcs. Orcs have a set of massively enlarged lower incisors which contributes to the Orcish tenancy to drool. A single Vetzut, or "Shaman" is assumed to speak for the tribe's totem spirit, and occasionally departed dead. As such, the word of the Vetzut caries much weight and even the Kish'nu is beholden to it, to some degree. The Vetzut advises the Kush'nu as the will of the tribes totem spirit, and of the dead. Female Orcs are trained as equals until they reach maturity. At that time, they must fight hand-to-hand against a male Orc of the same age; until one, or the other is unconscious. If the female fails, she is sent to the tribes Huush'naag or "Breeding-Annex" where all such females are force-bred until they are no longer fertile. Orcs keep slaves, to see to the menial tasks in their society. Some taskmasters treat their slaves better than others. However, such slaves are treated as property. Many are treated cruelly. Female slaves can expect to be force bred with other slaves, or worse male Orcs. Male slaves work any land the tribe may posses. Slaves caught attempting escape are typically beaten, or maimed.
Half-Orcs are treated with mild contempt, and are considered weakened by their Human heritage. Many Half-Orcs live as slaves. However it is possible for a Half-Orc to prove himself, and attain status in the warrior-caste. Such happenings are rare, but not unheard-off, especially during major military campaigns.
<br><br>
Orcs believe that all peoples, themselves included, are becoming increasingly decrepit. This notion, a theological concept called Luul, compels the Orcs to wage war. In their view: only by destroying the weak in their society and others can the long-term survivability of any and all races be assured.
As such, much of what the Vetzut does is designed to placate or earn the favor of the spirits, especially before a major battle or the start of a military campaign.
<br><br>
All other able bodied males are either hunters who ensure the day-to-day needs of the tribe are met, or warriors. Many of the ranks of male Orcs are warriors. Warriors, contribute to society by staging small raids and otherwise being available for purposes of war.
<br><br>
Female Orcs are trained as equals until they reach maturity. At that time, they must fight hand-to-hand against a male Orc of the same age; until one, or the other is unconscious. If the female fails, she is sent to the tribes Huush'naag or "Breeding-Annex" where all such females are force-bred until they are no longer fertile. This is done to ensure the large number of Orcs necessary fight in any of the Orcs many military campaigns. If she wins, she has earned the right to fight as a warrior, and may take any husband she pleases. Any male who looses the fight, is removed from military service, and given hunting duties instead.
<br><br>
Orcs keep slaves, to see to the menial tasks in their society. Some taskmasters treat their slaves better than others. However, such slaves are treated as property. Many are treated cruelly. Female slaves can expect to be force bred with other slaves, or worse male Orcs. Male slaves work any land the tribe may posses. Slaves caught attempting escape are typically beaten, or maimed.
<br><br>

Thanks Knockwood for clearing up the vandalism edits. Much appreciated.
It looks like there's (unfortunately) a lot of wiki spam here. I haven't tried it myself, but if you're in charge, maybe Bad Behavior would help cut down on the automated stuff? --GargoyleMT 11:18, 8 February 2006 (PST)
I do look through the new edits and eliminate whatever spam I see. There is a lot less spam than there could be on here, I dare say. (Check out the Blocked IPs list sometime).

Actually, this is as good a place as any to clarify one thing: I am the Czar, but I work from "outside" in that I don't have access to the machine, just the Wiki. ShannonA can tweak the machine, and I've already asked for some anti-spam provisions.
Hi there! is there a way to block full words but not partials? I added text that was refused because, said the message, it contained the banned keyword "c_i_a_l_i_s". Turned out it was "s_o_c_i_a_l_i_s_t"! (It still won't let me type it here, of course.) :-}
On another note: I have started a new Fantasy Setting sourcebook on this Wiki called Wisrtum. It really is in its infancy. Before it gets much larger, I'd like to know if I am organizing and presenting the information in the best possible way. I've contributed to Wikipedia and Wikisource before, but I've never done anything quite like this. Could you please look it over and give me some pointers. Also, if you wish to contribute material, that would be appreciated!
Thanks for the feedback. I've implimented much of what you pointed out, especially the catigorization, which should help with organization and indexing. I should be moving forward with the geogrophy section soon. Then, I'll start in on the "staple races" such as dwarves, elves and so on.

Could you look at the index link on Wisrtum's main page, though. It seems the only way I can create a link for the index is to do an external link like so [ foobarURL description ]. I can't just make this link work lik other, normal wiki-links.
Thanks for the help you've given me. I've added all content pages to the Wisrtum catagory. I'll use your pipe-trick to re-arrange the resulting list as you suggest a bit later. Soon, I'll be adding some serious content, which will (with luck) draw some people into the wiki.

I've totally revamped the main page to Wisrtum, it now looks a lot more friendly -- I barrowed much code from Wikipedia and Wikisource main pages, and hacked the tar out of them. The main page now now looks nice. Btw, you (or whomever) changed the boarder to pastel-purple did so while I was playing arround with the code to the main page... I had a few seconds of serious confusion (followed by a good chuckle) thanks to you!

Actually, this is as good a place as any to clarify one thing: I am the Czar, but I work from "outside" in that I don't have access to the machine, just the Wiki. Hi there! is there a way to block full words but not partials? I added text that was refused because, said the message, it contained the banned keyword "c_i_a_l_i_s". Turned out it was "s_o_c_i_a_l_i_s_t"! (It still won't let me type it here, of course.) :-}
I removed the actual cover images to be behind a link as they were quite large and had a link to the index page there. Headers for all the pages under WS include a link to the index page or to the main page with the cover images.
For details on the specific feel of Wisrtum's magic, see: Guidlines for porting Wisrtum's Magic to RPG-Systems in a Nutshell.
