The 2nd Special Missions Regiment is one of the elite units of the Imperial Army. Their mission is to take down high value rebel targets. Unusually, the 2nd does away with the scout and repulsorlift platoons and replacing them with more special missions platoons. Due to the battalions size, it is almost always split up into companies for deployment.

== Platoon composition ==
A platoon is made up of 4 sharpshooter squads (totaling 36 men), 2 engineer squads (totaling 18 men) and 2 heavy weapons squads (totaling 18 men) with a Platoon Sergeant (ranked a Staff Sergeant) and Lieutenant in command. Thus, a platoon totals 74 men.
