A nation of forest villages, its people had fought as best they could, but they were no match for the arcanitech terrors of the Empire. So it was that, after decades of occupation, when Empire came for it's yearly levy of conscripts for the Imperial war machine, Acca-Nirsi's parents gave her up with no complaint.

But to the Empire, it was just another resource to be turned into a weapon.
