His clueless, however, remained a problem. When he was formally ordained as a monk, his teachers gave him the religious name Brother Foresight (Shenmouyanlu) as something to aspire to. Unfortunately, he has not made much progress in that direction. He also had a history of sneaking out of the monastery and breaking into places he didn’t belong—not out of malice, but out of naïve curiosity and a lack of discipline. His teachers had to intervene on his behalf enough times that it became a problem. Deciding he would not learn the lessons he need in the monastery, his teachers have sent Brother Foresight to wander the world, in the hope that he might learn a little wisdom and discipline.
