	An itinerant, semi-retired, scholar-soldier of the Perilous University in the decaying city-state of Sopheni. The universities provided a premier and unique defensive force to the Sopheni, who are in a near constant state of warfare with demons and magicians from the surrounding deserts. The city has fallen far from its heyday and Cambris himself fought in the Battle of the Screaming Demons a decade ago, during which much of the left hand side of his body was hideously scarred by the magical howls of said demons. The most obvious element of this is the loss of his left eye and scarring and palsy to that side of his face.
