Born on the Lathes, Chastitia's ordained purpose was to serve in the Skitarii Secutor legions; after all, her family for generations back had bred well for hand-eye coordination and marksmanship, and she too had received the low-level gene therapy intended to prepare her for eventual induction into that elite organization. But while the Mechanicus could mold her body, they could not shape her mind; and they certainly could not control the delinquent streak in her which led to countless violations of protocol.

Chastitia was eventually judged unfit for the Skitarii, but she fled the Lathes before they could turn her into a gun-servitor. Now alone in the galaxy, all she could rely on was how to handle her way around a firearm. This meant she ended up as a gun-moll for various crime lords before she struck it big by signing on with a flamboyant pirate captain, whose helmsman secretly taught her how to work a ship when she wasn't fornicating furiously with him or the captain. It was fortunate that she learned how to do this, because when the captain found out that his ship's voidmaster was banging his mistress, he killed the man and would have killed her as well had she not stowed away on a gun-cutter... and called the system police in on the ship with a list of the captain's various crimes.

She spent several empty months fighting and fucking as the mood took her, until she crossed paths with Varla. The future captain had the look of eagles about her, and Chastitia realised that she would be worth serving under. It didn't hurt that she looked scrumptious either...
