Is Cassius's cousin on his father's side of the family. Having been the "black sheep" of the family he was mostly sent away to live outside the public eye for most of his life. Until recently when he was instigated as the ruler of Shadowfast in Cassius's absence. Now he serves as a diplomat and consort with Shadowfast to the people of Khorvaire when he is needed.

Though a few odd inconsistencies exist in his story. For one thing King Kaius is never mentioned of having a brother. And when you consider that King Kaius III was actually King Kaius I then things seem to make even less sense. Not to mention several other things that don't seem to match about his past.

The truth, to a person who looks deeply into it, is that Count Sparda is in fact Siber of [[Siber and the Avatars of Siberys]]. His alternate guise that he adopted is that of a charming and passionate nobleman. Although Siber has admitted to himself that he hates having to act that way.
