These things sell for $8 on~~ the ~~web, so this was really very generous~~. ~~RADStickers are postage stamp sized dosimeters that you can stick anywhere~~ (~~mine's on the back of my license~~). They measure the cumulative dose of radiation that you've been exposed to, and indicate it with a color strip. The author's email is inside the book's cover. I'm not sure how long he'll give these RADStickers out, but it's a ~~great incentive to get the book now. Original Review This handbook is a very solid entry into this field. Being trained in emergency management, I~~ can ~~say that I found the advise~~ to ~~be reasonable and readily implemented. The book has already been reviewed for content, but I can confirm that it covers all the basic needs~~ of ~~an individual~~ or family. Here's a few of the many interesting questions that it answers do you know the answers? 1. How much food should you store to be ready for nearly any disaster? The answer may surprise you. 2. What kills more ~~Americans than all natural disasters combined? 3. How do you create a safe room to protect from airborne contaminants (radiological, chemical, or otherwise~~)~~? 4~~. ~~Which water filtration techniques remove chemical impurities? 5~~. ~~What kind of homeowner's insurance should you insist on? 6~~. Why is an mechanical interlock more useful than a transfer switch when connecting a generator to your house? 7. How do you compare two lanterns if one is given in watts and the other in lumens? 8. How do you size a spare heater for your home? 9. What's the biggest problem with solar, wind turbines, and ~~man-pedaled power sources? 10.
