Humanity. (Sol 3)
Quick to engage in inter species conflict but not as a cultural centerpiece. Gladiatorial matches (in the traditional sense) aren't considered socially acceptable.
Some members of Humanity are intensely opportunistic but the vast majority are content with their lot, or at least unable to do much about it.
Human technology is feeble but prevalent, it as so far been unable to create even simple Impulse, Grav, or Jump drives. Nor has it been able to terraform any other planets or moons in its home system.
Similar to its splintered cultures is humanities views on religion. Its most powerful sect often calls on religion as it fights against other highly religious sects.

This planet is currently protected by Galactic Law, contact with humanity is punishable by seizure of all assets and imprisonment in a livable environment for the remainder of a perpetrator's life. This term of imprisonment shall not exceed 1 galactic cycle.

"Angry fucknuts with weapons and holy books" has more or less always been the short description of human relationships.
