Jerome was always a precocious child. From a young age he read a lot of children's fantasy novels in which a child character was, despite their youth, able to be a hero. As a result, he aspired to be a hero himself- not when he grew up, but Now. His parents kept restraining him, but he kept trying.

It was therefore only a matter of time before Jerome "ascended" from the Dream World, refusing to accept that his world was so mundane.

Jerome's chief character strength is his courage. Despite being only eight years old, Jerome is courageous enough to charge into battle and ''not get traumatised'' by the experience. His desire to be a hero is simply that strong- and were he older, he probably would be.' This courage doesn't have any extraordinary physical strength to go with it, either.

Jerome is not, however, some idealised Young Hero. His primary weakness of character is that he's a bully. He doesn't use physical force against girls (though other boys is fine), but is perfectly fine with mocking them and tearing down their self-esteem.
