=Background=
Sarah was very shy as a child, often preferring to stay indoors and keep to herself. She usually enjoyed the rare occasions when someone would pry her out of her room, but never worked up the courage herself to initiate any such adventures, leaving that to her few friends. One such friend was a young hunter by the name of Eric Seward, who she grew to consider an older brother figure. Eventually, he introduced her to his teammates, all of whom adored her (and she in return), until the day when every last one of them fell in battle against the kaiju Outcry.

Much as she wants to forget the memories of that day, she can still clearly recall them: the intensity of Outcry's screams, the turmoil as she and the other civilians rushed for the underground shelters, and worst of all, the sight of Eric's mangled body as she emerged from the shelter, his lance laying crushed at his side. Before she could be dragged away from the scene, she took hold of a small remnant of his weapon, Ardent Spike, and kept it as her last memory of him.

As it turned out, the piece she'd kept had an unusually high concentration of adamantine. Years later, when the commander of the local hunter unit found out she had it, he tried multiple times to get Sarah to give it up; nevertheless, she refused every time. Frustrated, he was going to attempt to take it by force, until his superior managed to reach a compromise; if Sarah would agree to be trained as a hunter, and passed the all the trials therein, she would be allowed to keep it as part of her own weapon. Sarah quickly agreed, and so she began her training to use Sterling Storm, vowing to make sure that nobody else would have to suffer as she did.

=Aspects=
==High Concept: Timid Determinator==
The other reason why Sarah became a hunter was because she thought it might help her finally get over her social anxiety. This and her other reasons for joining up have made her determined to become a successful hunter, no matter how hard she has to push herself.

==Trouble: Inflated Reputation==
During what was supposed to be a routine training mission, Sarah's group ran into the kaiju Ironshell. As it was about to strike the final blow to one of her squadmates, Sarah delivered a well-timed shot that sent it reeling, allowing her squad to recover and defeat it. As rumors spread among the other hunters, she gained a reputation for similar acts, even though they were rarer than people wanted to believe. Needless to say, she isn't exactly comfortable with this, especially with all the attention it brings...

==First Adventure: Ready for Anything==
Sarah's pack was bulkier than those of her teammates during her first training mission, and it noticeably weighed her down. One of the meaner students on her team sniggered at how the poor girl was having trouble keeping up with everyone else, but when the group was trapped in a freak storm and had to take shelter, Sarah proved that there was in fact a reason she'd packed so much, pulling enough supplies out of the pack to keep the team safe and secure until the storm passed.

==Crossing Paths: No Debt Unpaid==
Sarah knew it would've been difficult, if not impossible, for her to make it back to base on her own after spraining her ankle, but was still uncomfortable with having to rely on someone else, when she wanted to be the one others relied on. Deciding that she had to repay him in order to make up for that, she spent days scouring the market for what she'd heard was one of his favorite foods

==Crossing Paths Again: Stubborn Sense of Justice==
On her way back to her room one night, Sarah witnessed a squabble between Elspeth and a group of condescending veteran hunters who were dismissive of her ability. Unlike them, Sarah had actually seen Elspeth in combat, and knew that although she could still improve, she was still better than what her detractors were saying. A switch within her snapped, and she stepped in to defend Elspeth, surprising her detractors enough that they gave up and walked off.

=Sterling Storm=
Sterling Storm looks like a simple spear, its color scheme dominated by silver. Thought its appearance implies it would be most suited to melee combat, it was in fact designed to be just as good when used at range. The replaceable tip can be launched like a grappling hook, but is also fitted with an explosive charge that can be detonated on command. In addition, Sarah can unfold a bipod, stock, and scope from its body if needed.

Against kaiju, you have to take every advantage you can get, even if you have to discover it first. Sarah gains +2 on Notice actions to detect a kaiju's weakness

==Combat Medic==
Sarah's desire to help and protect has also lead her to become rather skilled with emergency medicine. She gains +2 on uses of Survival related to first aid.
