A battle-scarred veteran and core educated doctor, Jian Van Jensen somehow managed to avoid entanglements with the triad, and she has respected her mother's desire that she not to unduly 'disturb' ~~him~~. Though he was never allowed a place in her life, mother always spoke kindly of him when she sharpened her knives. So, when they are together, Kiko does not speak of the triad, and for his part he seems to quietly understand her silence.
