I thought he was full of male chauvinist BS back then, but I've come to understand that there is a kernel of truth in it~~. Not in the surface, a woman's place way etc., but in the deeper, Freudian-flavored level that a woman's body~~ is ~~a home for her children. In that sense she is the house~~ and ~~the house is her. The physical building is an extension~~ of ~~the concept~~. ~~The house, especially in its more dressed-up, extended, and elaborated creation, is a wonderfully dense symbology!~~
