	Melvin Jackson is the managing director of the Blush Bismuth Mine on Highgate. He was appointed to that position at the request of his father, Calvin Jackson, a relatively well placed executive at [[Corporations#Corone\|Corone Mining]]. Melvin appears to be fairly incompetent and somewhat delusional about his role in life. He may fantasize about a more exciting life as a high stakes gambler, or parliamentary agent, but he is basically a paper pusher on a back water planet.
