Using her family's connection and influence Valerie spread vicious rumors about Shidi. She declared that Shidi's talents were actually the work of sorcery, and that she molded the minds of her patients to not remember what happened. Rather then let such a setback overwhelm her Shidi saw it less as a setback, and more of an opportunity to do some good elsewhere in the world.
