Peace, however tenuous, has been restored to the Blessed Isle under Mnemon's rule, and the Great Houses of the Realm have turned their attention outward once again. With no Defense Grid to prove the continuing strength of the Realm, Mnemon ordered a massive army under the command of Tepet Ejava to reclaim Thorns at any cost. Success should cement Mnemon's rule as every bit as strong as her mother's. Failure, on the other hand, could lead the Threshold satrapies as well as the Realm's enemies to see her as weak and vulnerable.
