Megan was embraced back in the 80s, during the fall of the Mafia in the Big Easy. Her father was a Made Man in the New Orleans Combine, and she was a debutante just hitting her stride. Daddy had made sure to raise his girl tough, because the competition always played rough. Part of the wave of misfortune was a Lancea et Sanctum firebrand going by the moniker "Torque" (short for Torquemada) blowing into town with a crusade against vice-peddlers. When he smashed into the family home one night to make an example of her father, rather than flee in terror Megan managed to wound him with a kitchen knife. The wound was ineffectual, of course, but he was impressed that she could strike him (and offended that she dared), so instead of simply terrorizing or killing her, he Embraced her.

While she and her Sire obviously had a... fraught relationship, she took to the 'holy monster' ideals of the Lancea et Sanctum quite well. It wasn't a long mental leap from the mental gymnastics her family performed reconciling her father's work with him being a 'good' Catholic. That didn't stop her from constantly fantasizing about nailing him to a cross, preferably out in a nice open field an hour or so before sunrise, but she never got the chance - he simply blew on to another den of villainy, leaving her to 'find her own path'.
She's definitely going to nail up that deadbeat fucker if he ever comes back. For her family, and being such a flake.
