The increasing use of airboats and gliders in the League has led to a certain ''esprit de corps'' forming among its aviators, with the crews of airboats and glider squadrons bonding through constant, close teamwork to form distinct identities for themselves. One such squadron is the 57th Icehome Gliders, informally known as the "Wonderbolts". A flamboyant, showy lot, they have nevertheless managed to accomplish every task assigned to them and have gone beyond the call of duty several times, even in direct contravention of orders, to effect rescues of stricken and beleaguered personnel. As a result, they have no small standing among the League military, and each of their lightning-bolt unit pins comes from a fund set up for them by grateful members of other units.
