			"Before?" said Arale. "Before the demons came... it was a simple life, but it seems so beautiful now. We lived in the sea, of course. We had a few settlements on coasts or islands where we traded... mostly for fish, but sometimes for the musical instruments that we made. We bought tools, mostly, and spears for fishing. We didn't need to farm, or work very hard to get what we needed from the sea-- we could sing the currents to draw the fish to us, after all. We fished, and sang, and danced, and made love, and scandalized the Elves and Serafin-- but they still traded with us, and a few wanted more than fish from us. Under the sea, it is beautiful-- the fish and plants come in all the colors of the rainbow, and wave gently in the currents. We had all we needed whenever we wanted, and it was a gentle and happy life...

			"What's a horse?" said Azyria. "A Harg is a Harg, like that," she added, pointing out a windown.

			Clearly visible was one of the large draft animals that the Gnolls used to pull their carts-- something akin to a gigantic rhino/hippo cross, with a low, beaked head and armor plates, wider than it was tall.
