	The south and some of the midwest of the former United States is now commonly known as Christian America (or pejoratively as the Christian States of America or CSA.) The official policy of communities that identify with Christian America is that all of America is a Christian country even if some regions are backsliding. The agrarian culture of this region is a fusion of black and hispanic, urban, suburban and rural cultures whose origins lie in the crises surrounding the collapse of the global economy, so concepts of race and identity are very different - some would say more cosmopolitan or multicultural - in Christian America than in the old USA. Christian American communities officially advocate religious freedom, and there are Jewish and Muslim advocates of Christian America, but Christian American communities don't necessarily acknowledge the validity of atheism.
