Our Host: Phantom Grunweasel

Setting:
The Buffyverse but also the Cthulhu Mythos

System:
Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Premise:
The Slayer has moved to Arkham High, where she has her work cut out for her with haunters in the dark, things on the doorstep, dreams in witch houses, and rats in the walls. A 21st century update on the Mythos, with an undercurrent of self-aware postmodern humour.

Mood:
Wise-cracking, deadpan banter shot through with some genuine heart and genuine horror

The Story So Far:

The creator of Julie the Vampire Slayer had a vision for a postmodern comedy/drama/horror/fantasy series set in Lovecraft's Arkham. It was adapted into a feature-length film, Julie the Vampire Slayer, but was not deemed a commercial success. Our creator managed to persuade a studio to sponsor a TV series that would be something between a sequel and a reboot of the movie - taking some of the things that had happened in it as read, quietly retconning others, and in general just moving forward.

Julie arrived in town, where she met and befriended Claudia and Sam. A vampiric cult of Hastur turned out to have been kidnapping women for sacrificial purposes, and our heroes sprang into action. They saved the kidnapped women, and kicked much vampire arse. Now they defend Arkham from supernatural terror and also play in a band. Guitarist wanted.

Note: It’s the player characters that will make this one. I’ll be planning the stories around them.

Characters

Julie Connolly : played by Craig Oxbrow
Our Vampire Slayer. Originally from Boston, Julie is big into the club and indie music scene. Underneath a cool exterior, she may be more troubled than she seems. She moved to Arkham after unfortunate events in Boston related to her parents' divorce and her awakening as a Slayer. Now she leads the fight against evil in Arkham.

Samantha Butler : played by jamieth
A cheerleader and a responsible, level-headed girl. Sam is Claudia's older sister and is always trying to convince her sister to take more care of herself.

Claudia Butler : played by spaceranger
A goofy, easy-going drummer, stoner, slacker, and class-clown. Claudia ('Cloud' to some) is Sam's younger sister and frequently chafes under her sister's authority.

Gisa Amsel : played by MysteryCat
A Swiss punk rocker, forced to move to the States after her engineer father was offered a prestigious job in Arkham by Black Pharaoh, the multi-billion dollar tech company.

Sera : played by Argent
An American-Kashmiri highschooler and acerbic sorceress with a gloomy and sarcastic streak.
