Aruna Mac Lir is a tall man, broad at the shoulders and narrow at the hips. His skin is a mass of scars, heaviest across the hands and arms, most from combat, but joined by lash marks on his back. His face has been cut repeatedly, and an ugly crescent of scar tissue stretches through his short-shorn hair. He is clean-shaven save for a full and drooping mustache. Unbothered by cold or damp, he wears simple trousers, sandals and an open cloak; for affect, he wears the ornamental leather bracers and lone shoulder guard from his pit-fighting days.
The Harvest Society is a secret group of assassins, arsonists and saboteurs. They work for hire, usually, but conceal a secret agenda of their own. Some of their number are trained in dark magic and dire Strifes. Aruna left them when he left the employ of his master, and they seek to bring him back into the fold or kill him, as needed.

- Background: Aruna is a child of the Huburtavi, a tribe in the Northern Wastes. They are warriors and horsemen native to a foggy land.
