A character for D&D (3rd ed), created by psychojosh13.

Campaign

A relatively unique (I think) character for your standard, run of the mill D&D campaign. As long as there's combat against spellcasters, this guy gets a chance to shine.

Character Stats

Birindar Race: Elf Class: Fighter Level: 1 Stats: Str 15 Dex 12 Con 12 Int 9 Wis 10 Cha 8 AC: 15 HP: 11 Attacks: Guisarme +3, Longsword +3, Shortbow +2 Saves: Fort +3 Ref +1 Will 0 Feats: Combat Reflexes, Point Blank Shot Skills: Craft (bowyer/fletcher) 1, Listen 2, Search 1, Spot 2 Equipment: chain shirt, guisarme, longsword, short bow, thunderstones (3), rope

Character Description

Birindar could never quite get the grasp of magic like, well, just about every other elf. Sure enough this made him something of an outcast, and he quickly grew to resent his kin for their arrogance (jealousy? what's that?). Over the years Birindar focused this hatred into combat skill honed to fight spellcasters, whose powers he can resist more effectively because of his racial abilities.

Commentary

Birindar was fairly easy to create because I had a clear idea of what I want him to do. He is specialized (I won't call him "optimized") to disrupt casting and take advantage of casters' weaknesses - his primary weapon gives him reach and a free trip attack, and Combat Reflexes ensures that he gets a chance to strike (or at least threaten) when someone starts casting. He also has ranks in Tumble so he can get to the caster without having to waste time on the mooks; it's not listed above because it is completely balanced out by his armor check penalty.
