Looking at Ling Ling, you can see that she is an asian elf, but it is really hard to say if she is of Japanese or Chinese descent.  She is strikingly beautiful and something about her seems to put those around her at ease. She is an avid conversationalist and enjoys talking about all manner of things, especially the local music scene.  She can be found on many nights at various clubs enjoying the shows.

She was born as Grace Ling Tai to an elf mother and an immigrant Chinese father in Greater Tokyo.  Her father faced a lot of prejudice and as a result didn't manage to make a lot of money.  He always wanted college for Ling Ling and took to gambling for the money.  In an effort to make the money, her father took to gambling and wound up owing the Yakuza a lot of money.  He tried to pay on it, but in time fell sick and the Yaks came to take Ling Ling as payment for the debt.

At this time, Ling Ling was 17.  Almost instinctual, she woke up when they came for her and her magic came into use for the first time.  She was completely surprised as she gained power and killed the men with their own guns.  Unfortunately, one of those men was the local bosses son.  As payback the Yakuza killed her parents and still hunt Ling Ling to this day.  Knowing her life would be forfeit as well, Ling Ling fled to the Seattle area.  At first, she thought just of survival, but later the thought of revenge set in.

Survival involved doing the same thing she did as a kid in Japan, selling drugs.  It didn't take too long for her to hook up with the Ancients and get a small business going.  Now, a few years down the road she is in 27 and has some training as an adept and a shadowrunner.  Of course, as an elf she still looks 15-16 and will have that appearance for decades to come.

She is a social adept with good gun skills.  A very persuasive young lady, especially when doing business.  Ling Ling works with gangers buying and selling drugs, especially in clubs.  Novacoke, cram, whatever, if it makes you move fast she either has it or can get you some with ease.
