CATHOLIC CHURCH DENIES MIRACLE

CHICAGO TIMES FEB. 13, 1930

Chicago, Il. -

Father Raymond Bellaird, speaking for the Bishop of the Chicago Diocese, denied rumors of a miracle occurring at the midnight mass held at St. Paul's Cathedral last night. <br\>
Father Belliard repeated firmly that despite the claims of parishioners, that "Nothing of a miraculous or divine providence occurred at St. Paul's. We have spoken at great length to those in attendance at the mass, and to the priests of officiated.<br\>
"Nothing unusual or out of the ordinary happened during the mass. The parishioners may be assured that had St. Paul's been visited by such an event, the Bishop himself would have been immediately called."<br\>
Stories surfaced early this morning, when some of those attending the service claimed that the wine offered to them during Communion had actually transformed into blood.<br\>
