Sorcerer Merchants once reigned over the many island and island chains across the world. But as can happen in the pursuit of power and wealth, the Merchants warred against each other leaving many islands ruined and eventually toppling their own prominence in the world. Some descendants remain to this day, however, trying to make things right and work to restore some of the former beauty of the earth their ancestors devastated. Others have maintained new or former positions of power, but with less of the influence they once had.
You find yourselves in the town of Cliffcove. Not far away is a charred island containing a menacing structure, Blunderbuss Keep. A dark magical sphere hangs over the entire roof of the place, and since that appeared the surrounding islands have seen their vegetation withered and their creatures warped by some magical force. A group of druids have held the magics back from spreading its corruption further, but the progression of the corruption has merely been slowed and is sure to bring the taint to Cliffcove itself if left unchecked.
Among the island world are a number of local Kaiju cults. These Kaiju are of various temperaments and some have an agenda and more organization within their cult. Most Kaiju revered and sometimes worshipped by the local cults grant power similar to how a standard D&D deity might. On certain occasions and with the correct incantations, they can even be summoned for whatever purpose the cult leadership have in mind. But there is danger here. Some Kaiju are opposed to other Kaiju, risking destructive fights between them when summoned.
The system used is Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition. Characters start at 1st level with the standard point buy method with the standard starting points.

The Charred Islands
This is a series of islands that have been scarred and its wildlife mutated by whatever darkness is emerging from Blunderbuss Keep. Roiling clouds of lightning hover over the islands and ash rains from the sky.
Wood Elves make their home on these two islands and jointly oversee these islands from their town Elk's Run. They are protective of their home but welcoming to outsiders, especially any who would assist them in holding back the corruption from Blunderbuss Keep. A circle of druids here use magic and their attunement to nature to keep the corruption from spreading to their home and southward.
This is an island mostly inhabited by humans and doesn't see much trade with the outside world, other than amongst themselves. It is home to the Tri-Towns. The annual Harvest Festival in Cliffcove is particularly popular thanks to the variety of activities, sights, and sounds it provides and draws tourists each year.
This island is divided by the Monitorspine Mountains near the center. On the eastern side of the mountains is a hilly shrubland followed by a coastal desert two days in width. On the western side of the mountain is shrubland followed by rivers that comes from the mountains and empties into the swamps on the western shores of the island. These swamps are inhabited by villages of lizardfolk that are frequently harassed by the Berserker Lizardfolk from Raider Island.
Rampaging, hostile lizardfolk make up the bulk of inhabitants on this island. Sometimes they make incursions into the nearby Roto on Ages Harbor Island but mostly they attack and steal treasures from their lizardfolk neighbors on Bogfish Island.

Blocked from having traditional coastal towns due to the heavily forested coastline full of the tallest trees in the Archipelago, two populous cities were built inward long ago. Koto has a relatively safe river route from the sea to the inland where trade contact occurs, and this is the largest city on the island, while its neighbor Roto on the other side has a slightly more dangerous forest road leading to it.
Towns and Villages
This is a large, pristine cove that Cliffcove is nestled in. It is a popular place for beginner fishers due to the ease of fishing and plentiful variety. Many a new fisher has been able to brag about their rare catch that they reeled out of the cove.
Ages Harbor Island
The most populous city on the island and home to many things, such as an arena and temple home of the Keelina cult.
