Dark Worlds: A Multi-planar saga

D&D v3.5

Background

500 years or so have passed since the coming of the darkness, or so that is what those who can remember tell of it. Of these there are not many, for most have died, trying to fight off the ever-growing tide of darkness that has enveloped the world. No one knows how it came about, only that, after a long period of peace after th elast civil wars died off in the past, the Korrezen Empire invaded. At first, they were small, and only were able to capture minor territories. People were lax to try and stop them, believing that war had died long ago, and in a few days, they would go home. This, however, caused the downfall of all the nations on the planet.
As the Korrezen Empire grew, it pushed throughout the land, slaughtering or enslaving those who defied their law. The Metallic dragons, in an attempt to stop these things from happening, rallied an all-out attack upon the growing Korrezen armies. They were annhialated. The Chromatic Dragons, aided by the Obsidians, fought for the Korrezen, and in the end only Mal'kir'ador, the eldest Gold, was able to escape. To this day no one knows whether she is dead or alive, and if alive, where she is. With The dragons out of the way, the Korrezen proceeded to conquer the entire land.
These days all that are left of the once strong resistance are small pockets, usually led by wise men and women, those who survived when all else died. These groups are few and small in power, but they all have one goal, to bring back the peace that was once in their land.

Now

The year is KE 518, the place, Garrenland. The ground is pock-marked with craters from where the dragons once fought to destroy the Korrezen Empire and failed. No one but a few of the most powerful freedom groups lives in this area, and that is exactly why you have been sent here. Your groups, the people you fight with, have been told that Mal'kir'ador has been once again seen, flying over these torn lands. The reason seems to stem from a rumor that one of the groups, the White Feather, has found a way to end the darkness, completely, and forever. In order to figure out whether both of these things are true, you were sent to eet with the White Feather in order to at least coordinate plans. What lies ahead for you is unknown, but if it is true, and Mal'kir'ador has taken an interest due to this rumor being true, then perhaps the time of darkness may come to an end finally...

Scenery

Your world is in ruins, save the thriving city-states allowed by the Empire. Most of you come from small villages, or nomadic tribes, trying to stay alive in a world of perpetual evil and darkness. It is always dark. Your housing often consists of hovels or underground catacombs, where it is easily defendable for those who plot against the Empire.

Extra Rules

~Due to the nature of light in this world, you have all developed a strong Darkvision, able to distinguish color and details up to 100ft. This does not impare your ability to see in daylight, however, you will be disoriented the first round you set foot into daylight, as most of you have not seen any at all.
