A slender, scruffy-looking man with an fascination for history and the occult, Desmond runs a small bookstore in Arkham. He is an amateur outdoorsman and even more amateur poet, willing to help his friends but slow to put himself forward. His curiosity about historical artifacts and especially old manuscripts often overwhelms his caution, to the detriment of his pocketbook.
