Truth

  • Always Courageous: The goddess of Courage never lets fear dictate her actions. Bravo ignores Afraid Conditions and other fear effects.
  • Aura of Courage: The goddess of Courage bolsters the hearts of those who need her blessing. Any ally in the presence of the goddess of Courage has any Afraid condition reduced by 1 immediately, and reduced another point per minute they remain in her presence. If the goddess spends 1 Fragment, all allies completely remove the Afraid condition.

Background

Bravo is a long time radical social justice activist. In her younger days, she was a street fighter, who beat up Nazis and cops. Her interest in combat eventually led her to get formal training in both the martial arts and parkour. Ironically, this led her to move away from street-fighting. Her martial arts sensei, Nestor Kanzaki, taught her the value of restraint and that violence should be used as a last resort. He also encouraged his students to meditate. Bravo remains committed to radical political activism, but she has tempered her rage and now has focused her work on promoting restorative justice and abolishing police and prisons. With some other activists, she founded Freedom Moves, where she makes her modest living teaching self-defense (to both men and women, but with some women-only classes) and parkour.

Bravo’s life changed dramatically when the spirit of Conrad Winchester reached out to her. He was an old friend of her family growing up. He was also a member of the US Army who had seen combat duty and a staunch conservative. As Bravo was radicalized as a teenager, they had gotten into passionate political debates. She had had little contact since she had become an adult and stopped living with her parents. But Conrad had a secret—he was a God of Courage. He had been killed and wanted to ensure his Spark passed on to someone who would use it well. And, while he thought Jen was misguided, he knew she was a good person, so he passed his Spark on to her. Conrad also told Jen where to find his journal, which would give her some basic guidance.
