Dock Road

The Dock Road is one of the main arterial routes through the city, leading from the docks to the Hub, the large central square of the city. It is one of the busiest, widest streets in the city and the surface beneath the feet of the crowds is rarely anything better than mud. The noise of people shouting, talking and laughing as well as the sounds of pack animals, the creaking of carts and the tramp of feet makes the road lively and noisy.

A short stretch of the road right by the docks is known as Welcome Alley as it is a popular place for unscrupulous types to hang around, looking for newcomers arriving in the docks. Small groups of creatures of all races can be seen lounging against walls, loitering in alleys and looking out of windows, trying to spot the one poor sucker who didn’t take the right precautions. The narrow side streets around here are often littered with the bodies of those unfortunate enough to be caught by these welcoming committees.
