Player Characters

Chiaroscuro

Del'zahn

Tri-khan Ardashir Hal'zahn III

Overlord of the Delzahn Horde and the first Dragonblooded Tri-khan in three generations, he is the direct descendant of Assif the Hal'zahn (Assif, the Desert Wind) and ruler of the great southern port city of Chiaroscuro. Now in his thirty-fifth year, Ardashir is starting to show signs of maturity, his orange hair taking a deeper reddish hue, and small lines etched in his brow. He is the father of seven sons, one of the deadliest swordsman among the Del'zahn, and a troubled ruler.

For the past five years, the Tri-khan has been playing a careful balancing act with the Great Houses of the Realm. Chiaroscuro is an economic superpower of the south, and one of the largest ports in the world. By playing the Houses against one-another since the disappearance of the Emperess, the Tri-khan has managed to sever the lines of tribute connecting his city to the realm. However, in order to maintain this stalemate, the Tri-khan has been forced to create a strong alliance with another organization. Chiaroscuro has been opened as a free-trade city, and two years ago was declared a hub-city of the Guild. Not everyone is happy with this change, but it has so-far kept the Realm at bay, and the economy of Chiaroscuro has soared.

Type: Terrestrial Exalt - Fire Aspect

Grand Vizier Sukeph

First advisor to Ardashir II, and now grand vizier to the current Tri-khan, Sukeph is one of the most powerful men among the Del'zahn horde. From an old and noble family among the Del'zahn, he wields enormous political power in the south, and harbors a network of informants and allies spanning from Harborhead to the Lap. A known supporter of the Guild, and not-coincidentally, brother to the now-deceased Guild Factor Saham.

Type: Terrestrial Exalt - Air Aspect - Sorcerer

First General Azad Saffar

Staunch supporter of the Tri-khan, and foremost of his generals. A student of the military academies of Lookshy, he is a well-known master of battlefield strategy, and a nasty gateway player too. Though his body has not weathered his advancing years as well as he would hope, his mind is still quite sharp.

Type: Mortal

Second General Malek Ahmad

Second-in-command of the armies of the Tri-khan, Malek descends from one of the sword brothers of the first Hal'zahn. A veteran campaigner, it is well known that Malek wants Azad's position, and is growing increasingly perturbed by the old general's unwillingness to retire. A honored and reknown warrior in his own right, Malek is good friends with Khan Asir Mahmud, and shares with him a deep hatred of the Varang. Malek is well known for wearing a blood-red cape when he goes into the field.

Type: Mortal

Lady Ameah Zaluth

Widely known as the "Jewel of the Del'zahn", Lady Ameah is elder sister to the late Tri-khan Ardashir II, and aunt to the current Tri-khan. Legends of her beauty are well-known throughout creation. Widowed by the same battle that took her younger brother, she has become something of an institution among the Del'zahn. Though still striking, she has aged, and is now has achieved 'motherly' status among her people. While not as widely sought for her hand in marriage as she once was, any spoken slight against her is sure to bring duel-challenges from every Del'zahn within hearing.

Type: Mortal

The Guild

Factor Saham (Deceased)

A noble-born Del'zahn warrior, Saham has spent the last twenty years moving up the ranks in the Guild. Now a factor, he controls the vast majority of the drug traffic within the lands of the Del'zahn, as well as having a hand in every upscale gambling house in Chiaroscuro. A secretive and somewhat paranoid man, little is known about his daily routines, though his fraternal relation to the current Grand Vizier is a matter of record.

During a recent party thrown at the Realm Embassy, he was slain by the notorious freelance assassin, the Stalker.

Type: Terrestrial Half-Caste

Factor Savadh Kairos

A serpent man from the jungles of the southeast, Savadh is often referred to as the 'Slave King'. Over half of the slave markets in Chiaroscuro operate under his thumb. He is also widely known as a womanizer of the worst sort. Tales are told about his exploits, though little proof exists. However, many slaves of fine appearance are taken into his sprawling Garden District estate, never to return.

Type: Beastman God-blood

Factor Raeph Haphara

A widely known philosopher-merchant from the Lap, he prides himself on being a 'general entrepeneur'. Raeph is responsible for the sponsorship of many of the desert caravans leaving and arriving in Chiaroscuro, as well as being the number-one exporter of firedust in the south. Though he does small business in slaves and drugs, he tends to leave those markets to the other Factors, preferring to focus on shipping, arms sales, and the sponsorship of craft-houses.
