  • Goal: Achieve the First Level of Perfection and be given an initiation grade within the Hermetic order.


Orders

  • Order of the Iron Gauntlet: An order of serving officers in the military who look out for the needs of their own.
  • Knights of the Fiery Sword: The greatest and oldest Templar order, dedicated solely to the defeat of the Dark Legion.
  • Hermetic Order of Ancient Light (Secret): A heterodox branch that teaches the Brotherhood’s supernatural powers without the Brotherhood’s knowledge or permission. Utterly committed to fighting the Darkness, but technically heretical themselves.


Description & Background:

  • Eckhart is the second son of a lesser branch of the Fieldhausen family. He is only a knight for this reason (like his older brother and deceased father), but he is more interested in intelligence-work than advancing his family's name. His older brother has a successful political career, which currently shields Eckhart from the pressure of his mother's ambitions. She expects her sons to advance in rank and hopefully title, to improve their sisters' marriage prospects.
  • He was recently injured in a duel with Baronet Rafael Zamorano. It was fought for personal reasons. Eckhart hates this man, but also refuses to be angry at his rival for sticking a sword through his leg. Rather, he blames himself for being so stupid as to accept the challenge. Eckhart is now slow and cautious to a fault, and refuses to fight on other people's terms. He is still recovering from the injury.
  • While he shares the same commanding officer with the other characters, he also has a direct superior and mentor in the Intelligence Service: a woman referred to as Fontaine. She doesn't show up on-screen (There isn't a lot of computer technology around anymore, so I imagine the intelligence service being a lot like the portrayal of the circus in the recent version of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.)
  • He is part of a hermetic lodge connected with the Order of the Ancient Light. The only person he actually knows the identity of is his direct sponsor. All-concealing robes and hoods are worn for the various rites and functions. He will be allowed to know more as he rises in initiation grade.
  • He has a reputation in the unit for being an uptight prick.

  • Scanner: Before making an attack roll, spend one overdrive and select an enemy mech. That mech may not activate any configurations, and any configurations currently in play immediately stop granting their effect. This lasts until my next turn.
  • Berserker: Spend 1 Overdrive to attack twice with two weapons of the same type. Roll separately for each attack.
  • Description: Standard Bauhaus combat mecha. Specially designed systems allow it to re-configure its weapons, electronics, and armor plating. Eckhart has had it painted in dark grey and light grey.
