Background

Gatrenus


Gatrenus’s father began his career as a small time criminal in Petela. He soon found himself as a thug working for a criminal gang working his way up through the ranks. The Lunar authorities eventually caught him and the judge offered a stark choice, crucifixion or membership of the Danfive Zaron punishment legions. He took the only choice he could and became a penitent. After 15 years he was sufficiently rehabilitated that he was able to become an initiate. He was taught how to care for beasts and given a small herd of goats to care for. He met a woman, who he married, and they had a son named Gatrenus.

Gatrenus’s childhood was unremarkable. He learned the herding of beasts and at the same time was schooled in the ways of Danfive Xaron. At 15 he was accepted as an adult and initiated into the cult. He left home to become an instructor in a rich household, keeping the children disciplined and ensuring their obedience to the Lunar way.
