The Bishop: Advice to the Adjudicator

Though the list is not exhaustive, be aware of game balance and game effects when adding new descriptors. Bear in mind that descriptors with drastic effects should normally be placed in Traits rather than Boons, as Boons are very easy to come by in-game. Also, it is generally a bad idea to give Boons that encourage Bishops to stay at home, as Bishops are the key aggressive pieces in Winter Intrigues, and will almost always be in the field.

Escape Artist

Whenever the Bishop is making an Escape Attempt in Springtime, he can add +2 to the roll.

Master Kidnapper

Whenever the Bishop is an Agent in a Winter Intrigue with the Kidnap objective, temporarily add +3 to his Intrigue attribute.

Master Manipulator

Whenever the Bishop is an Agent in a Winter Intrigue with the Manipulation objective, temporarily add +3 to his Intrigue attribute.

Master Propagandist

Whenever the Bishop is an Agent in a Winter Intrigue with the Propaganda objective, temporarily add +3 to his Intrigue attribute.

Master Spy

Whenever the Bishop is an Agent in a Winter Intrigue with the Espionage objective, temporarily add +3 to his Intrigue attribute.

Superior Intrigue

The Bishop has +1 to his Intrigue rating.

Drawbacks for the Bishop

Callous

Unseelie Only: This Bishop doesn't really care about anyone but himself. He does not contribute to Internal Security.

Coward

This piece cannot act at all in Summer, and may never join Summer Campaigns or War Defences.

Fuelled

This piece needs Glamour to be operational. For this piece to take any action or participate in any defence costs 1 Glamour.

Helpless

This piece may not make Escape Attempts.

Inferior Intrigue

The Bishop has -1 to his Intrigue rating.

Field Agent

If any Season, if this Bishop is not "in the field", temporarily reduce his Intrigue by -2.

High Public Profile

Seelie Only: Deduct -5 from total Internal Security when this Bishop is targetted by a Kidnap attempt.

Reduced Versatility

Select one Intrigue objective. The Bishop may not name any other objectives when attempting Winter Intrigues.

Traits for the Bishop

Intrigue Variant Objective

The Bishop has a unique objective which he can declare when acting on Winter Intrigues. The effect of attaining the objective needs to be established when this Trait is gained. For example, on a successful Intrigue with the Thievery objective, the Bishop could steal D6 points of Glamour. This intrigue variant objective replaces one of the objectives that the bishop could normally attempt. For example, thievery could replace kidnap.
