Background:

Born and raised Farrows Corridor 9A of Hive Sibellus, Magda drifted into the Scorpions, a local gang, and did pretty well for herself there. She might not be the strongest, and she certainly wasn't the toughest, but she was fast, agile and dangerous enough to deal with most trouble, and charming enough to talk herself out of the rest. That lasted a few years, until she ended up caught and dragged in by the Magistratum. That was an occupational hazard, of course, but this time was different. This time, she would have ended up knifed on a heretical altar if the Magistratum's little cult hadn't attracted the attention of the Inquisition.

Magda managed to make herself useful during her incidental rescue, and some potential in her caught the eye of Inquisitor Kaede as he brought down the cult. So rather than return her to the custody of less corrupt officials when he was done, he took her with him as a new acolyte.
